AARRGGG... CHARLES DELIVERING THE IRVING NEWSPAPER??? ARGGG THE END OF THE WORLD IS NEAR!!!!
While walking in the Fredericton Library, I noticed everyone walking by the newspaper and never bothered to pick it up.
Who would have believe the day would come that I would be delivering the Moncton Irving Transcript to New Brunswickers?
Charles will once again be on 95.7 FM today at 4:00pm and another guest....
WILL AN IRVING EMPLOYEE WIN SAINT JOHN IDOL CONTEST???
Charles,
I wanted to blog a little story...well, it's not a story really.
But here goes..I tried out for Saint John Idol down on the Boardwalk
stage.
I was very nervous and gave it everything I had.
This was last Wednesday night, June 28th that I sang.
I did "Hound Dog" by Elvis.
There must have been 4000 or 5000 people in the audience. It was great.
I danced and gyrated on stage.
Not to brag, but I can hold a tune.
There were 115 people trying out that night.
80 people would be picked for the next level, 35 would be dumped.
I was one of the ones that was dumped. No reason was given.
I had little kids adults that I never met before in my life come up to me
after I sang and told me what a good job I did.
They said they'd bet anything I would make it but I didn't.
Over the last week I became really depressed over all this.
I decided to go down tonight (wed. July 5) to see some of the ones
that made it through to the next level.
It was pathetic, some of the singers were very bashful on stage and couldn't sing a note.
Ok, what I'm getting to in all this is something I did not know..something I only found out today. Something that someone told me.
Now I know the Wave 97.3 CHWV FM on King St. in Saint John is putting on Saint John Idol. They are drawing HUGE crowds every Wed. night and are doing wonders for all the businesses down at Market Square.
What I DIDN'T KNOW WAS THAT IRVING OWNS this radio station!!
Now you Charles and your friends probably already know this.
But it came as a total shock to me!!
That Irving is even involved in the Saint John Idol/Karaoke, I guess you could call it, business.
My God, what ISN'T Irving involved in?????
So all the staff down there conducting this, radio personnel, Melinda
Barkhouse, the judges, the other Wake Up host, all the other staff down there from the Wave are ALL employed by Irving!!
What a shock !!
I won't be trying out for Saint John Idol again!
There is something wrong there!
So I just wanted to share that with the readers.
If you want to print it, go ahead.
I'd prefer not to sign my name only because I'll get a lot of crazies
calling me, but if you really need me to give my name, I will.

Here's the story-
Irving open to train station proposals
Renovations | J.D. Irving spokesperson says company
pursuing commercial development to make train station
project viable
By MARK TAYLOR
For the Daily Gleaner
J.D. Irving Ltd. says a development in Saint John
could serve as a model for the restoration of the
York Street Railway Station in Fredericton.
Company spokesperson Mary Keith told The Daily Gleaner
that uptown Saint John's CenterBeam Place could
provide an example of how to develop the train
station.
CenterBeam Place, a former deteriorating heritage
building that encompasses the corner of King and
Prince William streets, is now a newly renovated
office complex with many amenities.
J.D. Irving Ltd. owns CenterBeam Place and the York
Street Railway Station.
"We continue to pursue a commercial development which
would make the restoration of the railway station
viable," said Keith.
"Similar to what's been done in Saint John in terms of
the restoration and the revitalization of that block
of buildings that now is called CenterBeam Place.
"There are some anchor tenants there and it's
underwriting the restoration of that building and its
rejuvenation as part of the downtown core."
She would not say whether the company has received any
expressions of interest in helping to develop the
train station.
But Keith said J.D. Irving Ltd. is serious about
seeing the railway station building restored.
"Should there be an interest in a development for this
property with the intention to move forward, we do
have an approved plan," Keith said.
In the meantime, she said the station is being taken
care of.
"Basic maintenance is being done," Keith said.
"But we continue to look for a commercial development
that would assist in what is estimated to be a
$2-million restoration."
She said the company is open to different ownership
options for the building.
"That is something that would be determined based on
the negotiations with the developer," Keith said.
Fredericton Mayor Brad Woodside said Sunday he hopes
to see a restoration of the railway station.
"It's a part of our rail heritage," Woodside said.
"I think it has been quite an eyesore for quite some
time that has really upset people as to why it would
be just sitting there and allowed to deteriorate when
train stations in other parts of the country are being
restored."
He said he welcomed news J.D. Irving Ltd. wants to see
the property brought back to life.
"I think there is going to be a lot of very happy
people including myself who travelled from
(Fredericton) Junction in the dayliner with my mother
when I was a little guy. So a lot of us have an
attachment to that York Street train station,"
Woodside said.
He added developing the train station will have a
positive impact on the surrounding neighbourhood.
"When you look at the kind of impact it has right now,
that's not a good impact," Woodside said.
"When you turn that around and have a restoration
project, it brings a lot of pride to the entire area,
including the entire city."
CKTP 95.7FM WAS A FUN BUT SERIOUS PLACE TO BE!!!
I had a fun time this afternoon. I showed up at 2:35pm at CKTP 95.7 FM in Saint Mary’s.
I wanted to chat with the host for a few minutes before the live talk show began. I believe it’s very important to know the host so I can be comfortable during the show.
We hit it off pretty good. His name is Bruce Hughes and he’s been doing this work for the past few months.
He puts in a lot of time and effort in his trade.
I asked Bruce if there was a delay system? Talk of the town has a 5 seconds delay and this is a good thing because the host can cut off unwanted words by the audience or the guest.
Seconds later, this Native showed up.
In a stern matter, he said - This is our delay system! You say one bad word??? I'll throw you out the front door!!!! Understand???
Well? The guy sure got all my five ADHD brains attention. ,,lol...His message was loud and clear!!! I didn't need any ritalin to undertsand?...lol
His name is J and he’s a disc jockey at CKTP.
Just like Bruce he’s a nice guy.
I was a little nervous. I had the choice to sit down on a nice sofa or the chair. I chose the chair and the show got on the road!!!!
Bruce told the audience that we’re going to try it out for one hour and if it goes ok? We’ll continue for two hours and continue we did. We jumped all over the place from the arrest in Saint John, the banning from the Legislature, the banning notice without being sign and how beautiful the City of Fredericton is.
The show went very well and I told Bruce that if he’s ever stuck for a guest? Just give me a call and I’ll gladly show up.
We can talk about any issues of the day. I enjoyed my little experience at CKTP and maybe we shall meet again in the future. Thanks a lot Bruce for having me.
Keep up the good work!!!

My reply to Brent Taylor column on me might not be printed?
I have been told that Brent Taylor made a phone call < maybe the Irvings? > that my letter shouldn't be printed.
Now? This is were it's going to be very interesting because this will mean that all Irving columnists can condemn someone in public and the public are not allowed to fight back.
Of course,, this will go to the Atlantic Press Council and I will blog this issue to death!
Maybe the Canadian Senate gave the ok to the Irvings to do this kind of witch-hunt? Who knows?
Stay tune for more on this issue!!!!
I feel that I have no other choice but to reply to Brent’s Taylor views , June 29, 2006 - Bloggers can take their messages too far
I must admit that I never read brent’s column. I am not interested in his views especially being a former member of the C.O.R. Party. His column was bought to my attention by a reader of my blog.
I am very glad Mr.Taylor shared his views on my situation because he sure knows something that I don’t.
He wrote - Legitimate bloggers are fighting, and winning battles over their accreditation as true journalists.
I do call myself a legitimate blogger because I’m the man on the streets talking to poor people and I did bring a lot of issues to all MLA’s such as roomers Boarding rights.
He claims that I was harassing employees at their workplace.
I also learned that many unionized employees went on stress leave for the summer months because of my attitude? Absolutely not once have I have been approached by the staff to stop harassing people.
He wrote - There is no point in any of them suing this blogger,
I got a question for Mr.Taylor? How can a person be sued for speaking the truth? My blogs are always written with a true message..
Despite the kooks, blogging has become increasingly mainstream.
I take exception to be call - A Kook. I would rather be called a Kook than being a Bigot from the C.O.R. Party any day.
As an Acadian, I remember Brent’s very anti-French speech while running for the leadership in 1992. This is one reason that I don’t read his column.
I might add that Brent is no legitimate Blogger. I just check Brent’s blog. His last update was in February. He sure isn’t a blogger.
The Fredericton blogger banned from the legislature would not even come close to meeting the standards set forth by the MBA.
What standards would be acceptable to Mr.Taylor? Attend a journalist course at Saint Thomas where the Irvings gave one million dollars to train their future employees?
A blogger is the columnist, the editor and the owner. A blogger reports the news but with an opinion.
Down the States, bloggers are treated with great respect.
Mind you, is you get a blogger upset?
Look out!!!!
Because their views goes on the information highway in minutes. I had over 100,000 visitors to my site so therefore I can’t be truly a kook.
Brent wrote The application was not approved, and rightly so.
Maybe Brent believes that since the Irvings owns all the major newspapers in New brunswick. Only Irving employees can apply as Bloggers?
Former C.O.R. MLA’S had a bad habit of speaking out before thinking and true was the case with this one - For instance, union representative Tom Mann wrote this newspaper last week defending the blogger's banishment, and was promptly termed a "bigot."
Now? If I wasn’t a legitimate Blogger? Why would Brent visit my blog? Very good question indeed?
One thing is certain. I might be banned for life from the Legislature but I will continue to blog away my views on political issues.
I may not be there to asked MLA'S questions on the issues of day so therefore I will asks them in my blog.
Bloggling is the journalist way of the future. Weather you like it or not! Bloggers will be around till the end of time.

I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT EXERCISING IN SAINT JOHN CAN KILL YA!!!!
Maybe this guy from the Saint John Police Force deleted all my pictures while I was in the cell!
He was very quiet and he followed me all over the place.
At first, I believe he was an Irving employee? Could the Irvings have played a roll in deleting all my pictures?
The citizens in Saint John better watch themselves.
I haven't heard from the police in over one week so maybe they can take any camera from any citizen on the streets and delete their pictures?
My answer to Rogers Television < Old Germany > Thanks but no thanks!!!
They asked me of my view on Canada Day? The minute I saw that it was Rogers Television? < Old Germany > I quickly left the scene.
