The old saying is so true. If he or she has their health?

They shouldn’t complain.
This is surely one of these cases. I first noticed this woman panhandling downtown or the Farmer’s market a few months ago.
She didn’t say much. She didn’t bother the pass-by asking for money.
She just sat silently on her milk cart and never said a word.
After my huge battle with the caretaker at 114 Brunswick Street, I located a place in a Rooming House.

It’s not a bad place. No one bothers me and this is the area a person really hears the sad stories such as this one.
I was surprised to see this individual living in the same building.
Just like the streets, she never said much.
Her name is Aletha and I noticed her once in a while walking very slowly down the hallways.
She’s not the type of individual to say much.
It took a very long while for her to open up and once she said- You could hear her despair of the system.

She was denied permanent disability by Family Services.
She was told that she can only apply for temporary disability every six months.

Therefore, the Lord Government will save a few bucks.
Now? It’s a known fact that Family Services are hunting down every Natives who lives off the reserves.

But now this? New Brunswick Family Services shouldn’t force disable individuals on the streets to panhandle.

This is supposed to be Canada?
She was told by Family Services that she has to be ¾ dead to apply for permanent Disability.
Here’s an email that I received from the caretaker of the building.
Shame shame shame on New Brunswick Family Services.
Here's her story-

Aletha Nowlan is 48 years of age. She could not work for 2 years and was taken off work due to illness.(hip prosthesis, insulin diabetic, depression for many years.

Three pins in right knee, three staples in the left knee) She applied for temporary medical and is receiving $470.00 a month.
She was on the board meeting for full disability and was refused on January 16th 2006.
They did not give her a reason why she was not accepted.
She has been walking with a cane for almost 2 years.
She lives in a boarding house with lots of stairs and has slipped and fell down. She has no ice pic on the cane cause she cannot afford to buy one.

She has to panhandle to help herself buy groceries and transportation to the doctors.
She is definitely a candidate for the full disability, and
has applied for subsidized housing, and has left several messages, and no return of calls.

She has a hard time to get out of bed, and has fallen several
times.
She has slipped and fell in the rooming house with 28 tenants living there( one guy had dropped water on the floor with no apology by him, or trying to help her up) What is wrong with this society?
She is in so much pain and suffering. She has the flu constantly, with a hard time to talk.
I as the Superintendent see her every day pass by my room and
if people could only see her weakness and sadness and deep depression. I beg and pleaded again and again for someone who can help.
There has to be a way to get through to these doctors, and make them realize what kind of shape she is in.
I demand she should be getting the full disability of $595.00. She cannot re apply for 6 months, which was told to her.
I cannot believe she was refused. Help!!!!
