American opponents of three liquefied natural gas terminals planned for Maine are hoping the Canadian government will cut off ocean access to the terminals.

Applications have been filed to build the terminals near Perry, Maine, across from Deer and Campobello Islands. Ocean access to the terminals would be through a narrow passage between the islands, and opponents of the plan worry it isn't safe.

Just before Christmas Quoddy Bay LLC pre-filed its application with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Art MacKay, one of the project's opponents, says it is now time for the Canadian government to speak up.

"The Canadian government said that it would not act until there was a filing with FERC," says MacKay. "This should, in fact, bring this to the surface during this current campaign I would think."

Federal Conservative Leader Stephen Harper has voiced his opposition to the use of the sea passage by the tankers. The Conservative MP for New Brunswick Southwest, Greg Thompson, has also been lobbying the government to deny Americans access to the channel.

But some Maine communities have been busy trying to ensure the building of the terminals. David Turner of the Perry Improvement Association says if Quoddy Bay's terminal goes ahead his town would host the gas storage tanks, and that would mean big money.

"This facility would increase Perry's valuation from today's number of 52 million to 302 million," says Turner.

Turner's group has sent a letter to every home in the town telling them that revenue from the terminal would cover 80 per cent of property tax bills. The company also promises to set up a million dollar development fund for the community.

The company is saying it will give town residents special consideration when it comes to jobs at the facility.

ALBERT VINCENT IS STILL ALIVE AND KICKING!!!

While in Saint John, I bumped into this well known politician. I always like the guy and often wondered what he would have done if he would have been sitting at the table at Saint John Council once the LNG deal came about?

Albert is well liked by a lot of Citizens in the Saint John area. Sadly, he was walking to visit his wife in the hospital while this picture was taken. She’s a sweetheart.

WHY WAIT TILL SOMEONE GETS KILLED IN EAST SAINT JOHN????

For the life of me???? I don’t understand this site!

This is an area in East Saint John. I would dare to say it’s one of the busiest areas in the whole Province.

Many old citizens are forced to walk across this busy street from Wal-Mart to MacAllister Mall!

I took this picture of a couple of old citizens waiting for someone to stop so they could cross.

I noticed 20 people walking across in 10 minutes.

Why wait till someone gets killed to take action?

This is a very dangerous area especially as the picture shows once the sun sets behind the mountains.

Once I told the elder citizen the reason I took her picture? She quickly said- GOD BLESS YOU!!!! Someone is going to get killed!!!!

Hey? If the Irvings would have paid their own proper taxes to the City?

Maybe they could afford a proper crosswalk???

ENTER THROUGH THE NARROW GATE. FOR WIDE IS
THE GATE AND BROAD IS THE ROAD THAT LEADS TO
DESTRUCTION, AND MANY ENTER THROUGH IT. BUT
SMALL IS THE GATE AND NARROW THE ROAD THAT
LEADS TO LIFE, AND ONLY A FEW FIND IT.
( MATTHEW 7:13 *NIV )

Dear Charles,
The gate that leads to Eternal Life is narrow indeed.
However that doesn't mean that being a Christian is difficult,
but it does mean that there is only one way to Eternal Life,
and believing in Jesus Christ is that way!

Jesus is quoted in the Book of John as saying;
"I AM THE GATE; WHOEVER ENTERS THROUGH ME
WILL BE SAVED. HE WILL COME IN AND GO OUT
AND FIND PASTURE." ( JOHN 10:9 )

Our Savior also said; "STRIVE TO ENTER THROUGH
THE NARROW GATE, FOR MANY, I SAY TO YOU, WILL
SEEK TO ENTER AND WILL NOT BE ABLE."
( LUKE 13:24 )

Now needless to say, in addition to believing in Jesus
Christ, we must obey God's Commandments, and do our
best to live a righteous life as well! For then we will, by the
Grace of God, make our way through that narrow gate.

Now when you think about it Charles, isn't it
wonderful to know that this life isn't all there is, and that
we may look forward to meeting our Beloved Savoir
Jesus Christ at that gate someday! Further that we will
DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER!
( PSALM 23:6 )

So; PRAISE THE LORD, AND FORGET NOT ALL HIS
BENEFITS--WHO FORGIVES ALL OUR SINS AND
HEALS ALL OUR DISEASES, WHO REDEEMS OUR
LIVES FROM THE PIT AND CROWNS US WITH LOVE
AND COMPASSION. Amen.
( PSALM 103:2-4 )

With My Love & Prayers,
your servant Allen
