Especially here in New Brunswick where the Irvings grants you the papers?
A journalist is suppose to report news without an opinion on the issue in hand so therefore that truly leaves me out of the picture.
I believe as the biggest blogger and Bullshitter in this Province who was charge and acquitted in the Courts?
I hold the right to be called an journalist!!!
If Dr.Phil can do it than so can I!!!!
They caught the individual who stabbed a guy at the Mall last week.
This Police Force always manage to catch almost anyone who does a crime in this City.
If someone tries to rob a store? The area will be surrounded by cops in a matter of minutes.
We know it's a small City so therefore it must remain safe.
My God? Could you imagine living in Halifax???
Now? I'm not kissing butt to the Local Police Force.
I'm just giving credit where it's due.
Speaking of News _ Here's one for you charlie....
Did you here the one about a LARGE crane that blew over on the LNG site on CHRISTMAS DAY!!???
Of course you didn't....Because they had it all cleaned up in a very quick manner...I'll give you the exact amount of time later.
But when one Family (I won't say who they are) hint, hint, owns all the media outlets and has a long enough protected area to stop nosy camera carriers from capturing the crane collapse or any other accidents that might be taking place, I guess you can get away with these things making it out to the public.
But then again I guess NOT ALL things can be a secret for long eh??
It only took me a very short time to figure out that this in fact did take place.
I'll send ya a little more on this soon....there is more....
But the question is this? How many Ashley Smith is there in jail as I blog?
How many were arrested by the Saint John Police Force on obtruction charge and were told they had no right to a lawyer???
That's the question?
This is the reason there should be a public inquiry on my arrest in Saint John????
T.J. Burke must act on this one as soon as possible.
I beieve that next week? I'm going to attend the Court session in the Capital just to see how many are told they have no right to a lawyer!!!
Lets be honest here for one minute?
At 6:00pm, there's CBC, ATV and Global News.
Can First Local compete with the other news channels?
I don't believe so but I might be wrong?
Maybe they're up there in the ratings???
Yeah....This is exactly what I feel like....Runing ear, coughing sweating.....
Lots of water...Is there anything else I can do to get rid of this cold?
since there's lots of genuises in this site? Maybe someone has the solution to the comon cold???
Be prepared for lots of blogging!!!!
I'm stuck inside so there's nothing else to do but BLOGGING!!!!
Just the opposite is true,as Charles 'popularity' attests-you can read the comments on several posts above, many giving him credit, and many wishing him well. Most people are aware of what Charles does for the community, which is why there are very few critical comments- most are from you. In the cases where he goes overboard, most people simply ignore it and move on, its entertaining at least. And many more give him the benefit of the doubt, especially if you've been on the 'receiving end' of the bureaucracy. It may be melodramatic, but nobody gets hurt.
However, it should be pointed out that Charles did NOT deserve what he got, whether his subsequent actions are overblown or not. That's like taking away all of a poor man's resources and then criticizing him for stealing a loaf of bread. This blog was churning along quite nicely, as you state yourself. Charles was almost singularly responsible for getting a new Residential Tenants Act, and I think that is the real reason for his arrest and ban-he was simply becoming too damn good at being a lobbyist.
Imagine what else he'd get into if that were to continue. He certainly didn't deserve to be fired from a job no matter the reason (unless he wasn't doing a good job, which isn't the case). He certainly didn't deserve to be arrested, even the judge attested to that, and everybody knew it beforehand and yet the government refused to drop the charges. He certainly didn't deserve to be banned from the legislature (unless there is somethign we don't know).
So yes, I defend him, mostly simply because you seem to have a real persecution against him, which should make anybody wonder who you actually are. Like I've said, I criticize him right here when there is something to criticize, and defend him when people like Jennifer state things out of context.
It's actually quite remarkable how little charles is responsible for what happens to him, in most cases he is behaving quite benignly so its strange the government has such a burr in their butts about him. Charles is certainly a pain in the ass, but not letting him into a christmas party and not letting him take pictures with other media is just plain stupid. Who cares if he takes pictures? And he's a member of the liberal party, I know, because I gave him the ten bucks to join-so there is no reason he shouldn't be allowed into their party. He may have been melodramatic in his response, but he certainly 'didn't ask' to not be let in.
But apart from that Charles really doesn't 'get what he deserves'. After all, he doesn't get paid at all, and on many occasions his blog is worth as much as the Irvings papers. Hell, if he did more audio interviews he might well be more of a resource than the CBC..and all this from one guy on welfare.
But its true, I find many headlines over the top. What I'm not yet convinced of is whether Charles is fully aware of that and does it for the sake of a headline and the predictable comments that result-after all, the only thing worse than negative comments would be no comments at all. And I'm not sure which is more entertaining, seeing what Charles will come up with, or seeing the inevitable comments, both are quite entertaining so I get plenty of laughs.
But its a free country, if you think we're all sad for enjoying this blog and thinking it important, great, I hope whatever beliefs you have make you happy. I don't live in Fredericton and its great to be able to see all the stuff going on, its great to see tons of pictures of Mazucca's, which I'll never see again and which only had two pictures in the paper (and of course none on the CBC).
I think its great to be able to see Charles have a blog about the mayor and have the mayor reply. I think its very socially relevant to have pictures showing the state of many trails and sidewalks when they are not plowed-and when they are. I think they are very socially relevant. I don't think its as socially relevant when Charles has posts about Dan, depending of course on what the issue is that he's discussing-this one I think was quite important.
The only thing you've really faulted him for only makes up less than ten percent of the blog. Just go look at the top ones right now, theres a story about bus routes, and numerous stories about drug use. Thats very socially relevant-but I don't really know how you define socially relevant, maybe you just mean he should be only talking about ADD non stop. Apart from that, its pretty clear how socially relevant his blog is, people wouldn't be coming here if it weren't. It certainly isn't THAT entertaining, there's millions of blogs out there and an unlimited source of distraction.
Maybe he does like the attention, good for him, I hope it makes him happy, lord knows money never will, a nice house and car and good reliable food certainly never will, so hopefully he enjoys what little notoriety he gets.

Friday of the First Week in Ordinary Time
When Jesus returned to Capernaum after some days, it became known that he was at home. Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them, not even around the door, and he preached the word to them. They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd, they opened up the roof above him. After they had broken through, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Child, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves, “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming. Who but God alone can forgive sins?” Jesus immediately knew in his mind what they were thinking to themselves, so he said, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, pick up your mat and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth”—he said to the paralytic, “I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home.” He rose, picked up his mat at once, and went away in the sight of everyone. They were all astounded and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this.”
Introductory Prayer: Jesus, thank you for this time to be with you. Help me to put aside all distractions and to be present. Open my heart to hear your word. Strengthen my will to love you with all of my strength. Don’t let me be mediocre in my surrender to your will today. Aware of my misery and weakness, I trust in your mercy and love.
Petition: Lord, increase my zeal for souls.
1. The Paralytic One day, four men carried a friend to Jesus. It made all the difference in the world to the friend, for he was paralyzed and was unable to approach Jesus on his own. He had heard of the miracles Jesus had performed, but had never seen them. His own healing was out of the question. He couldn’t go to Jesus on his own. Had his four friends not stepped in and brought him to Jesus, he would never have been cured. Their faith and love made his healing possible. Who does Jesus want me to bring to him? Do I invite people to prayer and adoration? Do I invite people to Mass and confession?
2. The Four Friends These four men were not stopped by the obstacles in their way. How long they traveled isn’t mentioned, but even a short distance is tiring when carrying a man on a mat. When they arrived at the house, it was full of people who had traveled to hear and see Jesus and to be cured by him. It was impossible for the men to get inside the house through the door, but they didn’t give up. They didn’t quit. They carried their friend up to the rooftop and lowered him down into the house. By persevering we can achieve anything.
3. The Faith That Saves God wants to save so many people. He wants to bring real healing into their lives, but he wants to heal them through us. Jesus could have found the paralyzed man. He chose, rather, to let the others bring the man to him. Jesus wanted to heal him, but without the charity in the hearts of the four men, the healing might never have been accomplished.
Conversation with Christ: Lord, help me to realize more deeply that you want me involved in salvation history. I’m on the front lines. You entrust souls to me, and you want to bless their lives through my prayers, my sacrifices and my work. Increase my love for these souls. They need my help and my fidelity. I don’t want to let them down. Help me to be faithful.
Resolution: I will make a sacrifice today for the person most in need of God’s grace.
