Subject: IT WAS EXACTLY ONE YEAR AGO THAT I PRESENTED MY 10,000 SIGNATURE PETITION TO THE LEGISLATURE!!!!

This is going to be a different update but a long
one!
My God??? How time flies?
It’s exactly one year ago today < NEVER MIND THE
CAPTURE OF Saddam Hussein's ..LOL > that I
presented my 10,000 signatures petition on the Floor
of the Legislature. I found this little update on the
web. Here’s what I wrote one year ago…
by Charles LeBlanc
December 12, 2003
Boy? What a day this has been! I was told to meet T.J.
Burke at 9:30am on the front steps of the Legislature.
Sure enough? He was present right on time. He arranged
that I would be sitting on a sofa in the chambers. I
never expected that honor! I expected to be in the
gallery and watch the action for the top of the house.
While waiting for the action to begin, a few MLAs from
different political party came to shake my hand and
congratulated me. They said- HEY CHARLES??? IT’S YOUR
DAY!! I answered- It’s not my day! It’s the day for
the 10,000 kids around this province who suffers from
ADD/ADHD! The ceremony started with a prayer and Rolly
McIntyre mentioned my name and after his speech the
liberals stood up and gave me a standing ovation. I
was surprise that the P.C.s did the same gesture. One
person asked me to stand up and I didn’t really
remember the next few minutes. I was very emotional
and it sure was nice to be recognizes for the battle
that I’ve been doing for the ADD/ADHD during the last
6 months!! T.J. Burke gave the petition and made a
good speech as I knew that he was going to do. At the
end? He said- One phrase that stands out in my mind
with the conversation that I had with Mr.Leblanc on
Wednesday he said - Don’t mention Charles LeBlanc but
mention the kids!!! Afterwards the petition was
presented. T.J Burke did a fantastic job and it was a
good speech! Afterwards I was directed back out of the
chambers. Around 10 MLAs shook my hand to congratulate
me. Once outside, I was met by a reporter from the
Telegraph Journal and she noticed that I had tears in
my eyes and I had. It was very emotional. The
television stations covered the story and it should be
on ATV and CBC television this evening. Ohh Allan
White from CBC did a very job educating the people of
my battle. Lets not forget Charles Gagnon from
L’Acadie Nouvelle. He really helped my cause in
spreading the word to my follow Acadians. I was
surprise when one of the bureaucrats< notice that I
never said evil???> ..lol Once again, invited me
inside the Legislature. I was direct in the hallway
and there was Elvy and Madeline Dube. We chatted for a
few minutes and gathered in front of the Christmas
tree were all the media gathered in front of us! I
didn’t say much and it was nice to hear two ministers
talked about the issue of ADHD! They said that a
committee won’t be in action in the near future but my
petition is something to look into! The hard job was
yet to come. I had to put down my tent and I didn’t
know that I had so much junk!!! I came to the Capital
with 2 pair of pants, shirts and a few blankets. These
days? I need a Van for all the stuff that I collected!
The guy came for his tent around 2:30pm! I thanked him
and he was on his way and he told me that I did a
wonderful job for the kids. I told him that I
appreciated his tent because it was my protest a lot
easier! During this protest? I learn one thing! What a
person says and what they do? Is two different thing!
This guy came through with his words and I’m grateful!
I’m going to pack all my stuff in the back of Rolly’s
truck and all I got is a few shirts.< just like when I
first started> I already have a meeting set up with
the official of the Education Department on Friday
morning and lets pray that before then that I can meet
with the head cheese of the medical society! Well? THE
PROTEST IS OFFICIALLY OVER!!! TOUT FINI!! You know
something? This little experience was better than the
ones that I rode a ten speed bicycle across Canada! It
was great and I’ll never forget it! I hope that
someone can help me with a book and I can put my
entire funny story so future generations could read
about my experience. It was great but it’s not done
yet because I’m still in Fredericton for another week
so keep on reading!!!! Send me your feedbacks because
I really enjoyed them!!!
Ok…I guess that my grammar has improved a little
since last year…lol..for you new comers that site is a
story that was covered by the Brunswickan during the
protest. Take a look at the beautiful tress in the
background.
http://www.unb.ca/bruns/summer/03/news/0808ADHD.htm
Now I’m going to try to remember the stories
which happened since my protest ended one year ago
today- Here we go---this is the protest which came to
a halt!!
http://www.justicenetworkcanada.com/charles.htm
Afterwards, I spent close to four months writing
my story for a book which I guess still continues
today.
In the month of February, I had a meeting that
lasted for a couple oh hours with the Chairman of the
New Brunswick Human Rights Commission and Bernard
the rightful owner. It was a good meeting and they
were concerned
of the manner that I call them –Racists members? They
couldn’t explain to me why they came to a verdict that
adults with ADHD are limited? I left the meeting with
a good feeling but that all change in the next few
months.
In March while walking on the streets in the
Capital, someone congratulated me for this story-
http://nb.cbc.ca/regiona....0040210
I walked into Bernard the rightful owner to thanked
him for
his message of the issue of Ritalin. Since he used to
be the Minister of Education? He knows there’s a
problem with the drug Ritalin in the school system in
this Province.
Days later, this story comes out-
http://nb.cbc.ca/regiona....0040311
One again the issue came up and this time around
the Teachers agreed it would be a good idea but
unfortunately all this came to a complete halt once
the Minister of Health Elvy Robichaud that a study was
totally out of the question! I guess the drugging of
our small kids will continue till the next election in
the year of 2007! Too bad so sad…
Days later, this story came out about the issue of
Ritalin -
http://www.justicenetworkcanada.com/amybryce.htm
So the month of March was a very good one for the
10,000 kids in this Province who are force on Ritalin!
In April, I finished my little book and it was
around 200,000 words. Lots to say about being in a
tent for 6 months! I decided to take a month long
break from everything! My brain has been racing for 10
long months and it was time for me to relax!
In May, I decided that I had to go to work and get
a life. I was surprised that a few Bureaucrats from
the Government told me that I couldn’t work because
the Human Rights Commission told them I wasn’t capable
of working and my past with the Irvings didn’t help
the situation!
Well? That did it!!! I was back to called them
racists because that’s exactly what they are! They
won’t fight the Irvings because we have someone in the
Commission who’s the only case worker in the southern
part of the Province and he was convicted years ago
stealing from the Irvings! Ok…never mind that!!!!
So? I was back to square one! The Government goes
by the verdict of those racists members of the New
Brunswick Rights Commission so there’s nothing I could
do but continue my protest via the information
Highway!
In the month of June, I read this story-
http://www.canadaeast.com/apps....8200069
I was a little upset but I guess that the Irving
bureaucrats in the Capital are using their power in
making certain that the board stays put because they
will never go against the Evil Irving Empire. What
bothered me most of this story was the appointment of
the new Chair person because she’s the girl friend of
the defeated MLA Eric Mackenzie! Maybe we should have
the same system as the States. These members should be
screen before they are appointed!
Then I read this little note on the web that I was
a hero!!!!..lol..Big ego!!!! Take a look at this one…I
rank up there with Mel Gidson!!!..lol
http://justicenetworkcanada.com/heros.htm
Then in July, this story came to light-
http://nb.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?filename=nb_novisit20040714
I often wonder what happen to Colin Noel? Did the
parents win their case? Who knows?
Then this happen in July----
http://nb.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?filename=nb_homeless2004-726
I guess that she won her battle but she’s still
in court to this day! I haven’t seen her for a while.
Then the spice girls arrived at the Legislature—
http://maritimes.buffaloimc.org:8080/news/2004/08/8179.php
The girls are long gone and they are moving on
with their lives….too bad that I can’t follow the same
action!!!...lol…Weeks later the protesters were
evicted from the ground of the Legislature so I guess
that I can still call myself the last of the true
protester!...lol
This here story was a bombshell!!!
http://www.gnb.ca/cnb/news/hrc/2004e0885hr.htm
I was furious because this would set up the
stage for kids with ADHD to be deported!!! Are you
still reading with me or are you long gone???..lol..I
know it’s a long one!!!
Then on August 19th, the Government tried to
block up from my emails and they quickly unblocked me
once the media began to ask some questions?
Can you imagine that one???
Then finally some good news from the New
Brunswick Human Rights Commission.
http://nb.cbc.ca/regiona....0041117
Of course, this will take years to go through
the court system!
This story came out a couple of weeks ago and I
think this is a wonderful idea!
http://www.gnb.ca/cnb/news/edu/2004e1364ed.htm
I will be making a presentation to that forum
early next year because I have heard lots of stories
about the way kids with ADHD are being treated in the
school system!!!
ARE YOU STILL WITH ME? I DON’T BELIEVE SO!!!!
Ok…if you’re still with me?< I DOUBT IT!! >
Anyway…I guess the protest still continues even if it
was over one year ago today! I’ve received thousands
of email during my protest but this email I receive
the day my protest was over really touch me where it
hurts!!! I really like this little note!! Have a good
day-
Charles,
You asked for our opinions...lol...I'm a rambler too!
:P
Nothin'wrong with that...So bear with me on this,
okay?
Charles you sound so defeated and unsure of
yourself....my goodness Charles look how VOCAL you
have been over the years and what you have
accomplished
in this year alone! HOW MANY MILES HAVE YA PUT ON YOUR
SHOES, BUDDY?
Are they warm enough and do ya need extra socks?
You've gone SO MANY PLACES and SPOKE TO SO MANY
PEOPLE...ON THE STREET!
You've been getting to the HEARTS AND MINDS OF MANY
PEOPLE!
BE VERY VERY PROUD OF THAT!
You were relentless in getting the attention of the
people in the province and WOW that petition... 9,665
names so far...RIGHT ON! And you say
some people who wish that they could sign could not
"for their own reasons"
and you KNOW WHAT SOME OF THOSE REASONS ARE....sooooo
YOU KNOW you are starting to bend the "ridged minds
sets" of some of the people you have been
talking too! RIGHT ON AGAIN MAN!
And you're meetings with some of the officials...have
got to make ya proud!
You might leave a meeting thinking you have not
affected anything BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHO MIGHT BE
STARTING TO GET A SMALL UNDERSTANDING OF SOME
OF THE REAL PROBLEMS IN THE PROVINCE. Maybe SOME DAY
we will start to see changes and you know Charles some
of these young kids and adults you are
talking to on campus and around Fredericton MAY BE
REALLY IMPACTED BY YOUR VOICE...
They may be the next generation coming on line to make
the changes needed.
Sometimes we do NOT REALIZE the impact we have on
others!
Your being persistent in SPEAKING OUT and your
approach of “Stand Up and Speak Your Mind and the IN
YOUR FACE…you can’t ignore ME...I’m HERE AND
I’m NOT GOING AWAY AND BEING QUIETED" approach is
starting to beat some of these people down. I couldn't
be prouder of you!
Charles, I consider you to be one of the most
passionate people in the province speaking out for the
children, teens, young adults and families.
YOU HAVE BEEN ON THE STREETS and you have heard and
seen many of our horror stories. You have been a
presence for US to speak about injustice...
when we have been so CONSUMED AND BUSY working with
our
children with the day to day stuff that we can't do
what YOU DO!
You ask: Do you believe that I failed?
Let’s face it….would ANY government official you know
put him/herself in “your SHOES or TENT for a day and
night, week, months to fight for a cause for the
people?"
I know that they all have homes, heat, food, personal
safety, loving families and friends and most
importantly jobs and money that provides
for them very well even if the difficulty (of
Autism/ADHD/ Learning Disability and the list goes on
and on,) was faced in their family.
You have SPOKEN UP WELL FOR THE ONES WHO CAN'T SPEAK
FOR THEMSELVES!
How long would some of these politicians last if they
lost all their supports? Where would their passion be
on the side of the POLITICIANS or would they fight to
improve things for themselves and their families?
They would quickly see themselves on OUR SIDE OF THE
FENCE PRETTY QUICKLY IS MY GUESS!
You ask: "Can I leave the Capital with my head
high???" My answer is ....You bet your BOOTS, YOU
CAN!" Charles look how many people you have talked to,
the pictures and publicity, the news articles and all
the problems in the province concerning New
Brunswick Kids you have brought right OUT IN THE OPEN!
And trust me you hit on the REAL BIG ISSUES that many
people would rather not even discuss and want to BRUSH
UNDER THE CARPET AS IF THEY DON"T EXIST!
THERE YOU ARE being BRAVE collecting names, (in all
kinds of weather) talking to people
even if you do feel you are gonna get kicked off or
out of a place. THAT TAKES GUTS AND STAMINA!
You say: Many parents urged me to fight till the
end!!!
Only you know how long the fight can last and how you
are going to fight...that answer and decision lies
with you, Charles. YOU KNOW when
people work to hard at something "burn out from
exhaustion" can pose a real problem. Sometimes we need
the time to rest and think about things to RECHARGE
OUR BATTERIES. That is part of taking care
yourself. It can also be good strategy to take the
time to focus...what our next steps will be
so you can come back even stronger!
I don't doubt that you will see this through to the
end, you are very passionate about the cause how it
has affected you and so many others!
You may want to consider taking a break from your WORK
FOR THE PROVINCE AND THE FAMILIES. Everyone seems to
take a break from work during this season.
Families all around the province ...spend precious
time together! Even the politicians are unfocused
during this time of year in their work and
spend time with their families.
My concern is for you....Charles...
This Christmas Season as the weather gets bitter and
cold...will you have a warm place to find some comfort
and a good Christmas meal under your belt?
I SURE HOPE SO CAUSE NOONE DESERVES IT MORE THAN YOU!
If you decide to stop...NO ONE could consider YOU A
QUITTER OR A COWARD...maybe YOU CAN CONSIDER IT AS
YOUR BREAK, enjoy yourself and do
some of the things you like to do such as WRITING
ARTICLES until YOU DECIDE when to resume again! It may
be Spring or 6 weeks from now... You will know
WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT! TRUST IN YOURSELF!
Just take care of yourself Charles, you are a VALUE to
yourself and all the many friends you have found in
your travels and the people of New
Brunswick.
You are one of the strongest ADVOCATES I KNOW OF!
So you asked me for my view...and I gave it to ya!
Straight up!
BIG PAT ON THE BACK! GREAT JOB! I'M PROUD OF YOU!
Pam from Saint John
Don't forget to write me a note back to let me know
what your Christmas
