GOOD NEWS FOR SAINT JOHN!!!!
((((((((((((((((( ))))))))))))))))
I have received good news toward the battle against VLT,s The City of Saint John has (50) less machines since the smoking ban has come into effect.
This information has been received through a very reliable source ( Information passed on to me ) Involving a conversation between a Bar Owner an employee and
a video lottery machine technician.
This is a great start to the possible demize of these machines,There has also been at least 6 failed businesses due to the smoking ban which translates into the loss of some of that count.
I am also waiting on a call from an owner of a popular Family Resturant to confirm Information passed on to me by that same person as to the volentary removal of his machines as well!!
As soon as I have that conversation I will pass that along!

Sounds like a step in the right direction! I wonder what that would work out to if you knew how many were removed in the whole province since the smoking ban came into effect and I don't feel bad for the bars or businesses that are going under because they were only too willing to take the money without a second glance and I would presume that included some of their own friends!!
This will be just another issue that works itself out with the people of this province as there will be no help from bernard,he is to busy kissing all the wrong butt in all the wrong places instead of at home!see ya in june!!!
UH-OH,Looks like another case of,what goes around-comes around!!
just a heads up... I am currently watching the new show intervention on A&E at 11pm Sunday nights... What a scary and powerful documentary... I know its on again next weekend but don't know if it is a weekly thing. Wow
Intervention???what is it about??could that person elaborate??
hello,
this is kari?????.i'm not quite sure if you got my last e-mail or not..my st.thomas e-mail is not working...i was just e-mailing you to see if you were still interested in letting our group interview you about your thoughts of ritalin so we could present it to the class...if it is to late this evening i am available tomorrow after 5...just let me know when is a good time for you...
thanks so much
I hadn't heard that ...I wonder if Don Bishop knows ..
Looking back at a previous charles interview with a liberal and remembering one of the questions asked was will Shawn Graham be a person to talk to the people and then looking through some of the stories on this issue over the past couple of months I can't seem to find anything anywhere that states his views on this subject or on the proposals that were put forth and I have also failed in my attempt to find even the smallest piece where he might have taken a bit of time to talk to Tim or the press during the media blitz knowing that an election is very close at hand but I will say that it seems that the Minister Blaney and Minister Volpe seem to be trying to make some headway as was said in an interview on Global they are optimistic on an early spring solution,As this is now spring I along with Tim and others will be waiting to see if there is substance behind their words and or if the liberals are going to come out of the woodwork with a proposal of their own?????
I know for a fact that if nothing is done about the issue of VLT'S??? Well Tim Smith will continue his protest and this is a true fact!!!!But of course? This time around, he might have more people joininh his cause because it will be warmer!!!
I was just talking to an owner of a new resturant that recently opened in the eastside of Saint John and in our conversation he assured me that he has no intentions of having VLT,s there he said that he would rather not become dependant on that type of revenue in a family resturant atmisphere and he is also in the process of purchasing an uptown resturant and will call me back as to whether he will remove the VLT,s that are currently there.I told him I would like to know as soon as is possible so I can post his name and his establishments in this hopefully new trend towards VLT elimanation. I told him I didn't think that Free publicity would hurt his business as a community friendly place to go but said I would like to wait until he confirms with me before we take the next step,he was a very nice person to talk to!!

Hey? Whatever it takes to bring the issue to the public...Nova Scotis got the trailer Park Boys and New Brunswick has you!!!! Heyyyyy you're better much good looking than the guy in the trailer Park Boys!!!....lol
Today reporters have been calling me throughout the day because of the newsreports about Nova Scotia & Newfoundland comming out with comments of changes to the VLT situation and for a time I was ok with saying our legeslature is not back until march 30th and they are probably going to make a New Brunswick comment at that time and after seeing these other reports ours will have more clout but one reporter reminded me of something that was said about this whole issue more than a few times which set me aback for a moment and that was--It seems that this issue was put back in the news in the maritimes somewhat because of what you had gotten desperate enough to do over the winter with your hungar strike to bring attention to the growing problems on this subject and more than one person had said when all is said and done the changes would probably happen in all other provinces before you will ever reach Mr.Lords ears so as this is seemingly the case how are you feeling about this????
I must admit I am somewhat hurt and ancious about it all but at the same time I am still very hopefull as I said the house has not returned yet... from there I have no idea how much it will hurt if the point passes but I can honestly say even now I am getting very emotional at the prospects of future failure on the part of this issue and with Mr.Lord If ultimitly I have been lied to the consequences may hurt the Governing party as well as myself let us pray that this will not be the case....
As I told you hours the protest Tim? I would be very surprise if the Government took your concerns seriously! I gave them 10,000 signatures asking the Lord Government to study the issue of Ritalin but to no avail!!!
