CFBC talk of the town is the only talk show in the whole Province.

Politcians and bureaucrats alike must be happy that Friday will be the final day for this line of communication with the public.

With such a pressing issue in the forfront as is the LNG/Unfair Tax Deal My opinion would have to reflect on the side of the people of Saint John N.B. As exactly said to the point,
If CFBC goes off the air for the summer and Irvings along with the bandits of City Hall not to mention the Provincial Government decide to take advantage of making some of the finalized Decisions while communication between the citizens of Saint John have been temperarally interupted and with no other outlet of getting the message out to the general public and beyond from all views,It stands that CFBC and it's capability of being live and in your face 5 mornings a week is the most important source of outreach at this time as in meetings, gathering spots, changes that are taking place in the different stages of government etc.
Also and most important!!!aside from these specific issues,CFBC should now be a fulltime monday to friday morning Talk-Show because of the lack of media here in New Brunswick that has conserns for ALL SIDES AND ANGLES OF EVERY STORY REGARDLESS OF IT'S OREGINS.
I'm sure that if this radio station has regularly ended their talk show because of scheduleing for summer break there are more than enough qualified persons to work for the summer months as a part-time employee within their ranks.
Also I do not believe they would have any shortage of advertisers based on the current media situation those advertisers know they will get their dollar's worth in this local market, As pressure has been mounting against the local Irving paper being one sided and Readers are now becoming Listeners to get the whole story and not just the parts that private interests want to throw out as "a" this is the way it is synario.
And with that I say to Mr.Rick mantle thank you very much for giving the local voice a place to be heard,As we are aware you have heard it all many different ways with many different views and many seperate emotions attached.

I'm not too good at using the computer but I would like to see Talk of the town stay on the radio all the time. It's the only way people can speak their minds.

I think that the talk Show Talk of the Town should stay on the air if there are issues that need to brought tolight in the lives of New Brunswickers. I would hope that we might have something here in Fredericton. I remember when I was much younger when CFNB Radio was around, there was a daytime show called Reaction which was hosted by Dave Bennet I believe that it was much like Talk of the Town. I believe that these radio talkshows need to continue on a regular basis so we as New Brunswickers can be properly informed.

Good to see so many folks voicing an opinion on an important subject for the city.

Great photos!

Rick deserves a vacation like any other person. If he feels the need for a break he should be welcome to one as much as if there is something worth talking about he should feel free to stay on.

Would like to know if the radio station would consider broadcasting over the net so all the ex Saint John residents can keep up with all the local gossip?

I think Rick needs some time off, but 'the show must go on!!'. Lets have it three days a week instead of five maybe. Monday, Wensday and Friday.

i wish cfbc talk off the town would stay on for the summer at least 2 or 3 days off the week too.its very informative and without you wouldnt know what goes on in council or with the lng.

I believe that a time out would be ok! Because once in the fall? The issue of LNG will be once again on the front burner!!!! It will prove that the citizens didn't forget!!!!!

Michael Henry :

It will be interesting to see if the new Rogers Broadcasting opersation set to fire up on September 1 st, here in Saint John, will truely be All News An Talk.

If they do an evening Talk Show, I wonder if some new voices will be heard ??
