No Charles I don't miss Talk Of The Town. The show itself and CFBC have gone down hill in ratings over the past several years.

I'm Sad to say, I don't hold out any real positive hope Charles, for radio whether it be here in Saint John or in Fredericton,as a whole to be improved when the new Rogers broadcasting All News And Talk station fires up { supposedly September 1 st } Or When the Classic Rock station fires up in Fredericton.

FRED FM, I think it's going to called ?

Radio will never be the same again unless these Monster companies { meant as in Big And Powerful }start manning their stations with real live on air announcers on a 24/7 basis.

All one has to do, is take a look at what organizations own the Majority of Radio Stations here in New Brunswick, and then ask yourself, Why doesn't New Brunswick have a Single Radio Station broadcasting 24/7 with live announcers anymore ?

Maritime Broadcasting in Halifax as I am told, programs and controls what is aired on their CFBC, K-100 FM and C-98 FM Classic Rock stations here in Saint John.

What does Halifax know about Saint John ?

Newcap Broadcasting in Halifax will be controlling FRED FM in Fredericton.

Again, what does Halfix know about Fredericton ?

The owners will state, they can't afford to have live announcers 24/7. But yet they have millions to apply to the CRTC for other broadcasting operations across Canada.

Case in Point, I believe Newcap Broadcasting was recently granted permission to launch a new station up in Ottawa.

It all stinks to high heavens Charles.

Keep up the good work with your site.

I heard that Rogers might put the talk shows in radio and television in one package.

It would be on the air in the eveving but there's two point of concerns?

1- I hope the show don't air from Ontario.

2- I hopt the host isn't from outside of the Province because we all know what can happen when a mind from Ontario takes over.

Look what Peter Haggart did to the Telegraph Journal and now he's destroying the Daily Gleaner.

Myself, I like talk of the town because if something happens the evening before?

The public can voice their views the next morning.

Yes! Many will say he's just saying this because he's a regular caller to the talk show.

Many listens to this show and don't call in!

I hope Rick Mantle returns to the air waves in September!

cant wait for talk of the town to get back on air myself. unlike most seem to asume i am not retired but out of work ATM & am only 36 years old & i never miss TOTT if i can help it,i have yet to call in but i do send rick my thoughts & feedbacks via e-mail all the time on many things not only about saint john,nb,but all of canada. my mother also has listened & my father used to god rest his soul all the time but never called in & never would. my point being i hear rick mention all the time that the mayor or someone might mention to rick that its just a few people who call in all the time as if that is the only people who ever listen but this is far from true, many people like myself dont call in for many diff personal reasons or whatever, that dont mean we arnt listening. & also every day i listen to the show there is always atleast one first time caller who says they have always listened but was the first time they called.
