for those of you who remember a few years ago, 58 to 0!! we had a leader who controlled the party from the top to the top. but not the voters!!! it took 2 years and 2 new leaders for the party brass to figure out theat they need the voters. so now the recall clause is in the party constitution, and the brass does not matter.
if the party self-important are too busy to listen to the real people, so what? riding presidents are a lot closer to the real world, and they get re-elected every year.
so there is no reason that the party members can be stopped from forcing the leader to listen to them.
for those who think that this does not matter, that the elected are somehow divinely imbued with wisdom, unable to make mistakes, and generally wonderfull in every way, please send me the name of your pharmocologist!! i want some of whatever you are taking or smoking or whatever it is that you inject. and the name of the optomotrist who sells rose-colored glasses. they must be rich by now!!

for the sake of your children, and grandchildren, and neices and nephews, do something!! write to the globe and mail, force lord to a leadership re-election, jump in front of an SMT bus! but do so,ething!!

I will not suggest jumping in front of SMT bus but get a big truck put BLord and his belongings in the Premier's office in the truck and truck him away. May be to Timbuktu as he is friends with the President of the African nation where Timbuktu is located. He definitely does not belong in Premier's office. He will continue to do the harm as long as he is there. No more BLord and no more harm.

You do not look like a lobbyist or hitman. You look like a gentleman who owns a moving company. Why not move out Bernie Lord, Elvy Robichaud and Jeannot Volpe out of Fredericton. They are at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Tim doesn't look like either one, A hit man nor a paid lobbyist but what this does remind us of is here is a different side and a different view of this man that he obviously has a hard time sharing with the public and his family because of his silent suffering due to a long self battle dealing with a government sponsored addiction.
He is to be commended for the bravery and courage it must have taken to expose himself to raise awareness to the exploitation of New Brunswickers because of vlts and the desperacy of revenue at any cost for this government.
And he does not need a petition, he already has the undisputable 48% of this Province who has made that clear through a five-year-old referendum.
I for one share his view that something has to be done about proper regulation on this issue.
Mr. Lord has to be a man and stop hiding behind that referendum as an excuse for not putting proper regulation in place, it has absolutely nothing to do with cutting back on the allotted time for exploitation of the weak in this Province.

For those of you that have forgotten that Mr.MacIntyre did indeed talk about vlts.

Lest we forget.

Mr. MacIntyre:
I want to tell you something.
I will get serious for a moment, because I can be serious, too.

I want to tell you about the young man who was out in front of the Legislature this morning with a sign.
I talked to him today, He has made a point,
but I want to make a point to this government.

The Minister of Health and Wellness said yesterday that there were only 400 people addicted and that we had looked after them all.
This is the new burning issue, for all governments across Canada.

This is a very serious matter. People are losing their homes. They are losing their families. They are losing everything. We cannot say that because 400 people showed up . . . Most people do not admit their addictions.
This is a very serious issue, and I think we have watered it down too much. We should have taken it more seriously.

I asked that man to go home because I was worried about his health. He was on a hunger strike.

If you gave us solutions . . .
(Interjections.)
Mr. Speaker: Order.
Mr. MacIntyre:
I am sorry, Mr. Speaker, but she is pointing her finger at me. What can I do?
Mr. Speaker:
Again, you are off the topic.
Mr. MacIntyre:
I will get to it. I want to speak to the minister on this issue, because I really think we ought to do something about this. I think that this is just scratching the surface, and I really believe that, across Canada, this will continue to be a big issue in families like this. How could this man ever afford to pay for any child to go to university? The whole family is disrupted by VLT gambling.
Do you know what they are starting to do now? In Nova Scotia, the report says that now they are targeting adolescents with these pieces of equipment. In Ontario, they are targeting an ethnic group. It is terrible, so we need to have a look at that.
