Chuck:

Tom's a neighbour. Give him a break!

A little rough around the edges but an all round nice guy.

Look both have there good points. I do like the Talk of the Town with the open format. Topics can be brought up and people are informed. Also the new stations has topics that you may want to listen too but if not you have to wait until another time for a new topic. Right now with what has been happening in Saint John or not happening to us, the open Talk of the Town; is the station that gives people a chance to voice their concerns. Thankyou CFBC.

HELLO, ..CFBC IS AN OPEN SHOW ON CERTAIN DAYS, AND ALSO SOME INFORMATIVE TOPICS AND THE SAME CAN BE SAID FOR TOM WHEN HE HAD IT...DUE TO ALL THE HAPPENINGS HERE SINCE SPRING, RICK MANTLE HAS OPENED IT UP SO PEOPLE CAN GET TO SPEAK, AS GOD KNOWS THE LOCAL RAG WON'T LET YOU HAVE A SAY...I STILL PREFER THE CFBC AND HAVEN'T HEARD THE OTHER SHOW AS I WON'T GIVE ROGERS THE TIME OF DAY AND WHO KNOW WHERE IT IS ANYWAY......

The question is quite silly really Rick is at the helm today as Tom had his shot years ago and he fit into that time but the truth be known as for Tom times have changed, some like him and some dislike him, Rick has been sharpening his skills and I notice he gets a little more rattled these days when he gets the callers that tend to want to drag on with nonsense and if you don't get back on track within an alotted time he lets you know it's time to go but that aspect of the show still needs a little more tweeking.
I believe he'll be around for some time to come..

Like any open show; you can never truly conrol what people have to say and the attitudes that people bring to the show. I have been listening a long time because I can't recall but this man I believe was once a mayor, his name escapes me. Yes sometimes Mantle has a format with guests but for sometime the people have more say and I like to hear different views.
I happen to be French and undertand some people have stated many times how the government is wasting tax dollars on many things that are not necessary but millions or billions are still being wasted before we look after the real problems of all people. Then we can spend money on translations of the laws etc. I think we should be able to speak several languages and soon we will have to understand that there is no money left for the educating people which is way I thought society was suppose to go not force this language or any language down our throats. This issue should not over ride poverty , housing and the necessities all people need.

Rick is bad at moderating a call in show. Tom Young is good at writing a column and hosting a panel show. While there is no direct comparison, Tom is better.

Hi Charles :

I have had the Pleasure, Honour and Privlidge to have worked both with Tom and Rick, during my radio working day's.

I think nothing but the best, and wish nothing but great future things for both Rick & Tom.

Everybody should be glad, that we have a couple of Talk Show's here in the Saint John Area, to express our opinion's and various view points.

I saw the results Charles in a land far away many years ago, if you spoke out against Government Policies, it would be just cause to have you Executed.

Take care Charles.

WOW...
Phil Vincent doesn't even get an honorable mention here for Voice of the Province..
Think he does a fine job..a bit to cozy with the politicians he has on though..
Haven't really listened to Mantle so can't render a judgement..
Haven't heard Tommy's new talk show...
Remember when he did talk of the town...Did one hell of a good job.

Who's the best?

That's a loaded question.

You? Dan Bussiers? Roy Gjelstad? Andre the commissionaire? Arthur
Irving?
Bernard Lord? Me? Bernard Richard? Jacques Poitras? Nina
Chiarelli?

There are many candidates.

Hope you have a good day,

I don't usually disagree with jwmcq comments but I must this time around. I believe this is where the problem lies. Autism, Ritalin or Methadone clinics? That's no concern of mine so therefore it's of no importance to me. I believe that everyone should be concern on different issues even if it doesn't affect them in any way. The Autism will be a huge problem in 15 to 20 years from now because these special needs only receive proper care till the age of 6 years old. But the province has the right to ignore them because the Supreme Court of Canada told the province to ignore these poor individuals.

Charlie not till the age of 6.
until they are 5 I know this because my nephew does not turn 6 until feb and he has already been cut off as of sept 6th when he started kindergarten..

It's in the way they word it.
