It's very easy to answer, the Irvings are making the local ecomony and tax base grow. Without the Irvings Saint John would be Ghost Town, not that it's anything to brag about at present.
If the Irvings can turn Saint John into a Toxic Waste Dump Site, and those of us in the outlying areas alone, without having to take any of their business operations out our way, then more power to the Irvings I say.
And I agree that the Irving Newspaper and his 2 Local Saint John radio stations shouldn't be allowed to say anything Negative about the Company and Hand that feeds them. That's just how the Game of Big Business Operates.
Besides Saint John will always liste to Irvings Country radio station, because the people who live in the City Core are all a bunch of Country Music Red Necks to begin with. Statistics have proven this.
The Irvings are making Saint John grow Economically, look at the jobs that will be created with LNG Pipeline, it's not the Irvings problem or fault if the local Saint John population doesn't have the Skilled Workers such as Welders and so forth, to follow the pipeline construction route.
And furthermore, the LNG Issue and all that goes with it, Is a Done Deal, so learn to Live With It, And Accept It.
