Though most canadian politicians use .ca for their site, they usually buy up (.org .com .biz, etc.) so that people like Rick Mercer can't smear their name like in the case of : http://www.jasonkenney.org/
as opposed to :
http://www.jasonkenney.com/
Maybe there is more to this than we think. If he was planning a federal run in the next few years, he would have definitely bought that domain name.(bernardlord.com)
There was a fellow from Saint John who started this site and lampooned Lord. Bernard Lord threatened to sue him. I do not know what happened after that.
