TIM SMITH WOULD RATHER HAVE FLOWERS IN MEMORY OF THE DEAD!!!

timsmith
death vlt

Charlie I just want to take a moment to thank you for how you feel on the issue of vlts and that you've reached out there on my behalf.

I have had a number of people call me but I feel I cannot except cash from people over the phone as I NEVER want to be accused of NOT using those funds properly but I WOULD like to suggest to those who have called if you feel you would like to help,

Instead you could use the money to purchase advance bus tickets to and from the Capital to help me in getting back and forth that would be appreciated or if you cannot get to Fredericton but would like to send a few flowers to lay in memory of those who have lost their lives to this Government run Lawless and Ruleless Video Lottery Terminal Exploitation program.

You can drop them off to me before Tuesday morning and I will place them in front of the Legislature for you Wednesday morning when I arrive at the Legislature for the day or ask what I may be in need of as for supplies.

Again I really do appreciate those who have called to offer their help.

Thank-you so very much.

But I have a concern with excepting cash outside of those I know and can show what all money is used for.

Lord and government does not mind taking money from Tim and others and gives no accountability how it is spending it. Morals still exist only Lord and his cronies have not heard about it.

This is very serious and people need help; you can compare it to people with other addictions. Unfortunately when you are addicted to gambling you lose all your wealth and self respect. I'm not for gambling but if a building for a racino had ways of controlling and helping people before they are on the streets - fine- but I don't think anyone cares, except for profits at all cost sometimes. Hope people in the know (people who try to pick up these people after their destruction) step and try to help the situation and fix it before their totally ruin and thoughts of suicide have to happen. Thank you Tim Smith for taking a brave step and bringing this desperate situation the attention it needs. Government needs to do something now; you have brought this to their attention far too long.

I think that it is a good thing that Tim is doing in that he is trying to continually bring the awareness of the major problems of addiction of the Video Lottory Terminals. (VLTS). There is another issue that I heard through a friend that Premier Lord is negotiating to get two Casinos in the City of Saint John, and also Fredericton, I was infomed of this yesterday. I don't how accurate it is but if this is indeed true, then those who suffer from gambling addictions will have an even tougher hill to climb.

I would sincerely hope that Mr. Lord would have better sense than that but then Who knows.

Bernard Lord has without a doubt confirmed he is nothing more than a liar and a hypocrite, He said on many occasions that he's really not much of an advocate for gambling yet one year later he has broken his promises to do anything to help regulate the Government runaway exploitation program of (VLTs) while people continue to die under these current conditions.
Although opportunities have arisen to make changes for a racino where these machines can be housed and an on site councilor as well as proper monitoring can be put in place to help control chronic gambling.
He has said nothing in support of this change to start eliminating video lottery machines from the poor areas of these communities and have them in a protected atmosphere as well as creating steady jobs in this process not to mention these municipalities getting a share of the profits.

I don’t know about Fredericton or even Moncton but I do know that East Saint John can certainly fill the void of players needed for a successful program at the race track in that area.

you are asolutely right to defend those who have fallen victom to vlt desease, rules and regulations to this governmental cash cow must be looked at,studied and put into effect immedietely.
I wish you success and i hope you get the support this issue needs thanks again for being brave enough to keep it in the forefront.
