THE VERY FIRST DAY AT THE NEW BRUNSWICK LEGISLATURE!!!! TANKER WAS INDEED THE MAN OF THE HOUR!!!!

Picture 018, originally uploaded by Oldmaison.

This morning, I began my walk toward the Legislature for the opening of the House.

From far away, I noticed my bigot buddy Matthew Glenn truck. He’s always present when the House opens.

Picture 016

He’s protesting against Bilingualism and of course the Acadian population.

He looked like he was all primed up!!!

Picture 001

Until these two cuties from 92.3 FM showed up.

Picture 002

He seemed to calm down a lot…lol…so I took advantage of the situation.

Picture 004

It was the first time that 92.3 FM had a media pass to cover the going ons at the Legislature.

The Irvings media don’t mind giving them a pass but not bloggers!

irving3

Bloggers are not in the constitution! Oh well…c’est la vie!!! …lol…

I told the bigot that I’ll see him later on.

I walked in the Legislature and decided to watch the proceeding from the Cafeteria.

Well? We all know where we were in certain events in our lifetime and I’ll never forget where I was once I saw this picture!!!!

Picture 021

Yes, Tanker is indeed the new speaker of the House!!!

Who would have believe this would have came true a couple of years ago?

He always told me that one individual can truly make a difference! He could have proven this by defeating the Government but he choose this road.

Will the people in his riding be better off as him being speaker and not a back bencher? Who truly knows?

What’s in store for Tanker in the long run? Will he run as an independent?

His new salary will surely help his pension and will be a good thing for his family.

I walked in the gallery and it sure was a different site where the MLA’S were seated.

All the Female Ministers were all seated in the front row compared to the old days there were only one.

I believe the reason is that Rogers < Old Germany television > is going to show all the sessions of the House.

Sure was strange to see Bev Harrison seating there.

Elvy and Margaret in the back row.

Yes, a change in the Cabinet surely means also means a change in scenery.

Once downstairs the man of the hour was in the hallway surrounded by the media.

Picture 016

It sure wasn’t the same Tanker who was a former back bencher.

He was the man of the hour and he knew it!

This time around he was the head macho and not a person running from the media.

He was the speaker!!!! As a matter of fact, he stayed with the media until the end.

Once the interview was over, I approached Tanker to congratulate the Miramicher.

I reminded him not to be fool by Dan Bussieres to sign papers to have me evicted.

tentbussieres

He told me there shouldn’t be any problems but I just don’t trust the Sergeants At Arms.

Speaking of Quebecers?

Sure didn’t take long for the Quebec security staff asking me for my camera?

I could have taken a lot of good pictures but I wasn’t allowed.

One good thing was they didn’t have any metal detectors at the doors.

So far so good!!!

I noticed my bigot buddy out front protesting.

Picture 010

I bumped into the Mayor of Miramichi John McKay.

mckay

He seem to be happy with Tanker as the new Speaker.

Later on, the security staff separated the people in the hallway so the new Speaker of the House go walk by!!!

Who would have believe that Tanker one day would be in that possition? It sure is a different site!!!!

I mean Bev was born to be a Speaker and he did the job well. Tanker sure proved that any New Brunswicker can make it if they put their mind to it!!!

I bumped into a group from the Common Front from Moncton.

Picture 008

They drove all the way from the Hub City to listen to the budget.

While they waited in the line up, I asked them if they knew what they were heading into?

At first, they didn’t truly understand but really understood afterwards.

They were force to sit down in the Gallery and listen to every word by Volpe.

I might add they weren’t too impressed with the budget.

There’s really nothing in there for the poor.

In the afternoon, the hallway was full of media personal. They were all over the place chasing for the right story!

Picture 014

It was a madhouse!!!

I met another group of people who was looking for Bruce Fitch < Minister of Justice >

I directed them outside and they soon found out that I knew every MLA’s walking by. I reminded the group that they were my neighbors for six long months.

My God? I even waved to Bernard Lord.

New Brunswick is a wonderful place to live. No bodyguards in sight and everyone feels safe.

Of course, I knew that those Quebercers have zoom their cameras on us but that don’t bother me one bit because they can’t hear our little chat so it must drive them crazy!

We couldn’t locate the Justice Minister so we moved on in different direction.

I bumped into Allison Brewer and we had a nice chat about different issues.

So? This is day one and I might add that it was pretty exciting in the Capital.

Three different groups showed up with their concerns and this is only the first day.

It’s a darn shame there’s no talk show in Miramichi as the talk of the Town in Saint John?

What I would love to see is a host rallying the troops like Rick Mantle did in the by-election in Saint John.

rick

I would love to see 5,000 people on the front lawn of the Legislature on budget day shouting to Tanker to vote against the Budget.

Can you imagine that one?

If he believed it was a difficult task to escape the media? Can you imagine trying to escape from a mod of angry Irish protesters???..lol…

So? That’s about it and I guess they’ll be no election for the next little while.

By the way? I will admit that my prediction was wrong but I did write - Something was in the making on Friday because I noticed Tanker chatting with two MLA’S!

Picture 020

I took a picture but it didn’t work!!!!

Stay tune in this blog for more action from the Legislature.

This was taken from a piece written by Tom Young but it is a carbon copy of my suspicion of motive as well.

(Tanker) Malley as the Speaker of the House.

The job of being Speaker pays considerably more than being an Independent member of the provincial legislature. As an Independent, Mr. Malley in the end would have had little impact on the day-to-day goings on in the legislature,

(((However)))

As the Speaker of the House he can have a great impact. Keeping the government in office for at least another six months would make Mr. Malley and a number of other MLAs eligible for their pension. Would it be fair to expect one man to vote himself out of a job that pays something close to $90,000 a year with some of the best pension benefits in the entire country?

Nothing out of the ordinary here.
Looks, sounds, and feels like New Brunswick politics to me.

Tanker is no man of honor he is only in the game for self interests just like the rest and all this undue attention to him is more than enough proof.

Congratulations Tanker, I am very happy to hear that you Got what I would consider a very decent appointment, Speaker of the People's House. This means that you run the House. I wish you well and all the best in your new Position. And Please don't the Politicians run a muck over the Poor and the low income citizens of this province.

Yes he is a sell out. Self interest comes first. Look who his teacher is, Bernard Lord.

I took a moment to ask a few people what they thought of the whole Tanker story and the answer seems to be the same as the above comment, A complete sellout.

This has nothing to do with bernard Lord, He took the offer on his own for his own benifet.
Being Speaker of the peoples house certainly doesn't do anything for his supporters but it sure does secure his retirement package.

Oh well just another fog show.

Once a CON-servative always a CON-servative.Smokescreens and bull for self interests.

It's official!

Majority of calls to talk of the town agree Mr.Tanker Malley has now lost all credibility.

Anonymous said...

90% of audience against Mr.Malley's choice to axcept speaker of the house.

Just a cushion job for more money and to help protect other conservatives non-deserving pensions.

No credibility left is the most popular comments.

Most calls say the picture in the paper with Lord,Malley,Graham totally rediculous.

Tanker only looking after self interests.

Rick Mantle's final word: Mr.Tanker Malley has now lost all credibility!

First he says I have no confidence in his party and now their once again all budies.

He gets to double his salary and protect others pensions.

Many,Many callers are very upset with Tanker Malley.

Hey Charlie where is your 2 cents on this issue?

Call tott and give it to us.

Future does not look as bright as Tanker had hoped?

Will tanker malley get to keep his job in next election?

Well if early comments are an indication of things to come it doesn't look to good for him.

He was blasted all morning in Saint John, numerous comments on his credibility as well as his motives are being put to the test with a very disgruntled public.

But like anything else in New Brunswick this too could just be a release of hot air and may blow over and be forgotten in a couple of weeks or atleast those conservatives who may loose their pensions are hoping so.

except you are going by what people in saint john are saying. it only matters what people in his own riding think. and so far it sounds positive. you people need to get a grip. tanker will be back because his area says he will be back. what people in saint john think about him does not matter.

It is smokescreen that he is popular in his own ridding. That popularity is long over when Lardy Lord was cutting hospital beds and Tanker was behind him 100%. At least in public. Malley is done. So is Lardy. Yes Malley will get to keep his pension and add some now that he is a speaker and he will retire as such.

Watching the maritime news for the past couple of weeks and if anything,
Mr.Lord could be looking at a Liberal landslide but NOT because the Liberals are the Liberals but because he simply seems to have NO support left in any respect what-so-ever it seems that there is no longer one solid group or union that want anything to do with him including some behind the scene conservatives.

There is just no more interest in him or his party but the sad thing is all of this damage to his party comes from within ie:Volpe,Hutchens,Blaney,Fowley,Malley etc.and of cource Mr.Lord himself.

Anonymous said...

Malley has even hurt the Conservative party by excepting "Speaker of The House" and exposing Mr.Lord's continuous non-shalont desperate attempts to stay his whole term by giving him the post even though he knows New Brunswickers want him out now.

But at the end of the day he also hurt himself by taking the job as this only confirms he too has mastered the Conservative way of dooping the public into nothing more than a magic show of illusions to only best serve themselves when the dust clears and all is said and done.

I am not from Saint John but no question Tanker Malley and Bernard Lord are the biggest idiots. No one can beat them on that. They are both finished politically. Bye bye P.C.'s and bye bye Bernie.

Good Bye Lord and the MLA's; the writing is on the wall. We saw what you have for NB and sorry but all the mistakes costs us Billions not millions!

Give them the booton like we did to Hooton! People did the right thing; please wake and see the wrongs that will continue to happen.

We can't afford to pay more and he is lying to us!
