I am also Catholic and I enjoy the God's minutes because I do not make it to mass everyweek so I open God's minute and read it when I have time. I say if you don't like it skip over it like you have been doing and move onto the next thing that catches your eyes.
Charles is not just an activist, he's a person and this is his blog. He can run it how it wants. How hard is it to scroll past the pictures of the priest? I am not religious let alone Catholic, I can't stand catholicism and of course it's ironic Charles talks about 'old germany' when we know the new pope used to be a 'nazi youth'.
But so what? If you aren't capable of scrolling then something is wrong with you. I come here for information and don't care whether there are blogs about the priest or whatever, I just ignore them. Blogs are personal, go to any other blog and try telling people to 'stop talking about themselves'. Hell, most blogs are ONLY people talking about themselves, at least Charles is including other people.
There are lots of things I'd like to see differently, but I accept the fact that Charles isn't doing a blog just for me. The great thing about Charles is that he has enough info in it and subjectivity that you always know which side he's on, unlike the Irving or national Press where you never know what the head honchos have up their sleeves.
I like to see pictures, but not so many that it would slow the page down. As I'm not in Fredericton I'd love to see more, in fact I wish there were a webcam. This is the next best thing. Those who are telling Charlie that religious stuff is good are not really helping him. Religion should be separated from other issues. Religion is a very private thing.
I thought this blog is not about Charlie Leblanc as he claimed that many times. It is to help children with ADHD, help poor and expose the stupidity of politicians as he claims that too. He is losing people who are interested in issues than read about his priest or religion or look at his self-pictures which make no sense.

Well 8:12, you're jealous enough to lament. If you don't like Charles writings, go elsewhere. The Internet is a big place. I'm sure you can find something you like. Cheers.
Just to be clear though, the guy above does have a point. I too have told charles that he loses a lot of readers by being too extreme. I try to get my family to read his blogs but they just think he's crazy.
The idea expressed above is that if Charles were set up as some kind of professional lobbyist then he'd get more honey isn't off the mark. However, you have to respect that Charles does what he can. As also mentioned above, it should not be up to one person to try to carry the load for a province. If you don't like politicians or the media setup or whatever then the onus is on US, not Charles, who, whether you agree or disagree with him, is certainly playing a political role.
I too often feel the need to wish to 'edit' his site in a way I think would be more conducive to political change, but that is nobody's right. Charles runs his blog the way he wants, however, the above poster is certainly within his rights to criticize Charles on it. Charles did say from the outset that when he brings in new ideas, they are on a 'tryout basis' so obviously all feedback is necessary.
So for those who object to seeing his face,well, get used to it, but for those who don't mind his face, get used to the criticism-its an open blog. Irving also tells people if they don't like it, don't read it. However, that's not really a defence.
If there were some kind of compromise available, that would be nice. Perhaps Charles should have one of his little polls on THAT subject:)

It does not contribute to your over all effort to help others. Sooner you overcome that immaturity more helpful it will be to you and your mission. Even the pope refrains to talk about himself and that should be a great guide for you. Again I am not a soothsayer and my advice may not appeal to you but sometimes well-wishers do come across harsh but the purpose is to help.
BLOG comes from 'web-log'. It is a personal diary to most people but it's 'format' has been used for all kinds of things. Charles has had his 'gods minutes' for, what, eight months now? Suddenly NOW its an issue?
As Charles stated, sometimes he gets tired of this, and its no wonder. As somebody who has recently taken it upon themselves to finally read and study about how politics is done in this country I can sympathize. It truly is disgusting, narcissistic, often criminal, always infuriating, and contrary to popular belief, needlessly anti-democratic. I"ve learned that people's instincts are completely right to 'tune out' of politics,the reality is FAR worse than they imagine.
So everybody needs something to keep them going. Usually organizations fill this role, so that one person doesn't have to do it all. Some of us try to take some work off by sending Charles info, or making lots of comments, but in the end it comes down to him to post each day, sometimes multiple times.
Because he's not part of an organization and few people have volunteered to take some of the responsibility off his shoulders, it isn't surprising that he's returned to his faith. It is a PERSONAL blog, not a newspaper.
So for those who think there should be 'less Charles' and more coverage of issues I'd suggest they get involved. Find the issues nobody is talking about and if you have pictures, send them to Charles.
The government pays CLOSE attention to blogs like this because they want to know one thing: how many people are upset enough to actually DO something. So long as people sit home or at Tim's and gripe, then there is no problem. And contrary to popular belief it is NOT just tories or the party in power doing this, everybody SHOULD know that it is bureaucrats and corporations that run this province. By and large they don't care which party rules, you just need to go read the Q&A from the House to see that. It is a ONE party system with just different emphases.
So to sum up. Charles has refound his faith in God, if people want him to stop advertising the fact, then help restore his faith in PEOPLE. Namely, help out. Do something. Write letters, do research, take pictures, ask questions. Perhaps if he didn't have to carry the whole load himself-and reassure government that they need not worry, only one or two people will actually care enough to do anything, then perhaps he'll have more of those 'focus on PEOPLE' stories like he used to have, like his 'person of the week' and things like that.
9:13 AM your remarks are good and reasonable. I think others should get involved. However if others, especially well wishers, suggest some changes then they must not be shot down. You cannot ask people to join in if they are told to get lost every time they make a suggestion.
Religion is good but does not belong here if the intent is involving people from various backgrounds. Also photos of oneself do not reflect well on the person when the person claims that it is not about him but about children, poor and corrupt politicians. It does not matter that such photo is with the Prime Minister and big industrialist it still comes across as infantile and lack of self-respect and trying to enhance that respect through these silly photos and props. Photos of politicians and others in the stories do make lot of sense but photos of blogger in a story unrelated to the blogger as such is childish.
I agree on politics issue with you. Conservatives and Liberals are not that far apart and that does make it one party government. There are ways to make bureaucrats accountable if we continue to expose their follies.

If my picture wasn't there? It would look like I took the pictures from someone else. The God's minute blog stay till the end of times and really? If you don't like it? Someone is not trying to help here. If you want Leblanc to stay on the other side of the sanity then be it. But he has a lot of potential which is lost in self-love and infantile behaviour.
It is his that kind of behaviour and erratic behaviour which worries commissioners at the legislature. They may be Quebecois but they are all nice people.
No one is going to question whether you took the picture or not. Most all photographers do not put their picture along the picture they took to prove that they indeed took the picture. It is deep inferiority complex and insecurity, which shows itself in this manner.
You have potential to make a difference and do not be taken by soothsayers. They want you to amount to nothing or they do not know better and or themselves on the fringe judging from the abuse tone.
It's a blog, so everybody is allowed to chip in. It IS Charles blog, but at a certain point an activist belongs to the people so people aren't out of line. Charles CAN be erratic, and we should call him on it when he is. I don't think its too much to ask that he not have dozens of pictures of himself, but now that the commment is made, that will most likely be the case. In fact, with the new camera the only pictures with him in it have been old ones.
However, those of us who like Charles want to see his face every once in awhile, but as said, not in EVERY picture. That point has been made and Charles has definitely acted on it.
As for the religion one, well, charles has stated his intention on that quite clearly. I'd love to see those 'person of the week' things again, they don't even have to be people Charles knows, just people who have done something he agrees with. Perhaps that could be a regular feature as well.
If we are including religion that is a good point that other faiths could be included, and if somebody of another faith sent the necessary info to Charles then I doubt he'd object, but again, it's HIS site. We can criticize, cajole, beg, plead, whatever, but in the end he calls the shots. However, it's out of line to tell those who criticize him to 'shut the hell up'.
After all, what's good for the goose....if you don't like reading the criticisms, simply don't come back to this thread. Charles, like the rest of us, can have off days, can get out of line, can make mistakes. It does no favours to sit back and laugh and say 'oh that Charles'. Like any person in our society he has responsibilities in the society.
Keep in mind that many use the site to get information and who may not live in NB. They may not 'like' charles, but like his site. So telling people NOT to come to the site seems quite counter productive. The far more democratic line would be 'Come to Charles blog, one of the last places where you can freely express yourself. Don't like something, just post it' Irving owns the presses and will ignore comments they don't like, but they rarely say 'don't like it, stop buying it'. Being a LITTLE politic goes a long way.

I didn't see any bad remarks about the priest. Interesting that any thread that goes on too long suddenly brings up the 'banning' idea. Why are people even on this thread anymore? Somebody says they don't like something on the site and everybody starts screaming. Strangely, people get more strident after those with criticisms have pretty much settled down. Odd, that is.
I agree with the commentator above. No one said anything negative about the priest. Most probably he is a great priest. I think Leblanc is belittling him by posting his pictures among other baloney that he posts. Surely a good priest is not looking for that kind of notoriety and surely not from Leblanc.
Problem is Leblanc likes soothsayers and those who praise only and that is his failing. Criticism is to help improve his methods to put the message across. I suppose he is beyond help. Finally soothsayers are more appealing given the human nature and need for praise but such soothsaying can be poisonous at times. For example those who give you guidance for improvement cannot be jealous. Can you not see through that ploy of the soothsayers? Jealous of what??
By the way posting your self-pictures and other pictures you being in it (with politicians and others) shows a lot of immaturity. It means you are self-absorbed and self-centred. It does not contribute to your over all effort to help others. Sooner you overcome that immaturity more helpful it will be to you and your mission. Even the pope refrains to talk about himself and that should be a great guide for you. Again I am not a soothsayer and my advice may not appeal to you but sometimes well-wishers do come across harsh but the purpose is to help.
BLOG comes from 'web-log'. It is a personal diary to most people but it's 'format' has been used for all kinds of things. Charles has had his 'gods minutes' for, what, eight months now? Suddenly NOW its an issue?
As Charles stated, sometimes he gets tired of this, and its no wonder. As somebody who has recently taken it upon themselves to finally read and study about how politics is done in this country I can sympathize. It truly is disgusting, narcissistic, often criminal, always infuriating, and contrary to popular belief, needlessly anti-democratic. I"ve learned that people's instincts are completely right to 'tune out' of politics,the reality is FAR worse than they imagine.
So everybody needs something to keep them going. Usually organizations fill this role, so that one person doesn't have to do it all. Some of us try to take some work off by sending Charles info, or making lots of comments, but in the end it comes down to him to post each day, sometimes multiple times.
Because he's not part of an organization and few people have volunteered to take some of the responsibility off his shoulders, it isn't surprising that he's returned to his faith. It is a PERSONAL blog, not a newspaper.
So for those who think there should be 'less Charles' and more coverage of issues I'd suggest they get involved. Find the issues nobody is talking about and if you have pictures, send them to Charles.
The government pays CLOSE attention to blogs like this because they want to know one thing: how many people are upset enough to actually DO something. So long as people sit home or at Tim's and gripe, then there is no problem. And contrary to popular belief it is NOT just tories or the party in power doing this, everybody SHOULD know that it is bureaucrats and corporations that run this province. By and large they don't care which party rules, you just need to go read the Q&A from the House to see that. It is a ONE party system with just different emphases.
So to sum up. Charles has refound his faith in God, if people want him to stop advertising the fact, then help restore his faith in PEOPLE. Namely, help out. Do something. Write letters, do research, take pictures, ask questions. Perhaps if he didn't have to carry the whole load himself-and reassure government that they need not worry, only one or two people will actually care enough to do anything, then perhaps he'll have more of those 'focus on PEOPLE' stories like he used to have, like his 'person of the week' and things like that.
9:13 AM your remarks are good and reasonable. I think others should get involved. However if others, especially well wishers, suggest some changes then they must not be shot down. You cannot ask people to join in if they are told to get lost every time they make a suggestion.
Religion is good but does not belong here if the intent is involving people from various backgrounds. Also photos of oneself do not reflect well on the person when the person claims that it is not about him but about children, poor and corrupt politicians. It does not matter that such photo is with the Prime Minister and big industrialist it still comes across as infantile and lack of self-respect and trying to enhance that respect through these silly photos and props. Photos of politicians and others in the stories do make lot of sense but photos of blogger in a story unrelated to the blogger as such is childish.
I agree on politics issue with you. Conservatives and Liberals are not that far apart and that does make it one party government. There are ways to make bureaucrats accountable if we continue to expose their follies.
This blog has great potential and that potential must not be thrown away for personal egos and self-worship
As was said in the past, this is not a newspaper. The only reason that I have pictures of myself and the other individuals is just to show that I was there and I know the person. If my picture wasn't there? It would look like I took the pictures from someone else. The God's minute blog stay till the end of times and really? If you don't like it? Someone is not trying to help here. If you want Leblanc to stay on the other side of the sanity then be it. But he has a lot of potential which is lost in self-love and infantile behaviour.
It is his that kind of behaviour and erratic behaviour which worries commissioners at the legislature. They may be Quebecois but they are all nice people.
No one is going to question whether you took the picture or not. Most all photographers do not put their picture along the picture they took to prove that they indeed took the picture. It is deep inferiority complex and insecurity, which shows itself in this manner.
You have potential to make a difference and do not be taken by soothsayers. They want you to amount to nothing or they do not know better and or themselves on the fringe judging from the abuse tone.
It's a blog, so everybody is allowed to chip in. It IS Charles blog, but at a certain point an activist belongs to the people so people aren't out of line. Charles CAN be erratic, and we should call him on it when he is. I don't think its too much to ask that he not have dozens of pictures of himself, but now that the commment is made, that will most likely be the case. In fact, with the new camera the only pictures with him in it have been old ones.
However, those of us who like Charles want to see his face every once in awhile, but as said, not in EVERY picture. That point has been made and Charles has definitely acted on it.
As for the religion one, well, charles has stated his intention on that quite clearly. I'd love to see those 'person of the week' things again, they don't even have to be people Charles knows, just people who have done something he agrees with. Perhaps that could be a regular feature as well.
If we are including religion that is a good point that other faiths could be included, and if somebody of another faith sent the necessary info to Charles then I doubt he'd object, but again, it's HIS site. We can criticize, cajole, beg, plead, whatever, but in the end he calls the shots. However, it's out of line to tell those who criticize him to 'shut the hell up'.
After all, what's good for the goose....if you don't like reading the criticisms, simply don't come back to this thread. Charles, like the rest of us, can have off days, can get out of line, can make mistakes. It does no favours to sit back and laugh and say 'oh that Charles'. Like any person in our society he has responsibilities in the society.
Keep in mind that many use the site to get information and who may not live in NB. They may not 'like' charles, but like his site. So telling people NOT to come to the site seems quite counter productive. The far more democratic line would be 'Come to Charles blog, one of the last places where you can freely express yourself. Don't like something, just post it' Irving owns the presses and will ignore comments they don't like, but they rarely say 'don't like it, stop buying it'. Being a LITTLE politic goes a long way.

I have seen some of the people who protest the LNG and other Irving related Issues, running in and out of the Blue Canoe Locations.
New Brunswickers get what they deserve, a Massive peaceful protest around King Square and Down King Street, will get National Media Attention.

I didn't see any bad remarks about the priest. Interesting that any thread that goes on too long suddenly brings up the 'banning' idea. Why are people even on this thread anymore? Somebody says they don't like something on the site and everybody starts screaming. Strangely, people get more strident after those with criticisms have pretty much settled down. Odd, that is.

I agree with the commentator above. No one said anything negative about the priest. Most probably he is a great priest. I think Leblanc is belittling him by posting his pictures among other baloney that he posts. Surely a good priest is not looking for that kind of notoriety and surely not from Leblanc.
Problem is Leblanc likes soothsayers and those who praise only and that is his failing. Criticism is to help improve his methods to put the message across. I suppose he is beyond help. Even God cannot help him. The minute He will point out his failings he will aggravate God too. Leblanc will be the guy outside Parley gate fighting with the guards. Some of them could be Quebecois.
