Apology is simply not enough. Huntjens, sitting MLA, called speaker of the House a blackmailer. He must be removed from the legislature and put in jail. Let us call a spade a spade. Where is Bev Harrison now? He must call for Huntjens' resignation and then he must be put in jail.

Huntjens was rail-roaded real good by Tanker.

If so 12:15, Abel must also be thrown in jail. Let us indeed call a spade a spade.

I truley want to see if one is as important as the other.

Tanker Please step up and do the right thing.

You MUST come out with a VERY PUBLIC apology to Abel LeBlanc as well as Mr. Huntjens.

From there you MUST step down as Speaker of the House and go back to the Miramachi and call a bi-election to at the very least get a small amount of backbone and dignity back.

Finally the CON-servative Party and its so called leader Mr.Bernard Lord should be forced to stand before a board of inquiry on proper ethics of the peoples best interests as well as an Investigation into this whole matter on P.C.Party policies.

Abel did the right thing and apologized but his comments were not as serious. Huntjens is alleging that Tanker blackmailed. Blackmailing is illegal last I checked. If the allegations are true then sent Tanker in a slammer and if not true then Huntjens deserves to be in a slammer.

As a poster said on another blog regarding this, out of respect for the position Huntjens should also apologize. Jail? That's over the top for either Leblanc or Huntjens. I always get a charge out of my anonymous friend who cries indignation if it's a Tory but turns a blind eye when it's a Liberal. Both Leblanc and Huntjens shouldn't have said what they said. One did the right thing and apologized, the other should follow.

Sorry but when is it the right time to speak the truth. No one needs to appolgize for that.

Sorry friend, yiu're wrong on that count. Both did the same thing. Both have to apologize. Leblanc showed some class, (even if he did the wrong thing to start with), Huntjens should do the same.

Huntjens makes very serious allegations. He should apologize and then resign as an MLA.

Tanker Malley should apologize to the people of New Brunswick for his shenanigans and resign as a speaker. May be they deserve probation and not jail yet.

To the blogger, you have a good topic and do not burry it under other stuff or too many successive blogs. A good discussion is going on.

The only way I would buy your argument is if you thought Abel Leblanc should also resign. However you agree with Leblanc so you won't, even though it's the same thing. That's fine, but man at least admit the partisanship.

If I had a nickel for everytime someone called for a government member to resign, I'd be a wealthy man.

Once in a while it is necessary for an MLA or MP to resign but not too often do the circumstances justify it. This certainly isn't one of those times for anybody. Shenanigans, yes. Resigning, no. The voters decide if the MLA stays on in this situation and they do it next election.

That is why we need an election now. Lord is hanging on to power by hook and crook. It is clear as daylight that people do not want him, Tanker and many other jokers in Lord camp.

I disagree. I'd rather see both parties start doing some work that is evident. October 2007 isn't that far away unless you're a Liberal supporter I suppose.

October 2007 is too far away. Lord and Tanker’s tinkering is causing too much harm. We are laughing stock for the whole country.

If we're a laughing stock (and I haven't seen anything to suggest we are) it's because one party is doing everything it can to hang onto power and the other is so power-hungry, they're trying to do all they can to get it. Neither one can claim the moral high ground, not even your precious Liberals my friend. If an election comes, it comes. In the meantime, both parties should knock off the theatrics.

Will it get any lower after Tanker fiasco? We are laughing stock. Have you talked your buddies outside N.B. what they think of Lord and Tanker.

At the greenest (green behind the ears) Prime Minister Mulroney get together how come Lord was not invited? Is it possible he is persona non- grata?

Hate to break it to you but few people outside NB care about NB so we're hardly a laughing stock. I'll agree it's theatrics and they're uncalled for but the Liberals are hardly choir boys in all of this. MLA's on both sides of the house need to grow up and do what we elected them to do. Represent us and provide leadership.
