It seems this site is more about you than the issues?

Personally I think the Atlantic Gateway concept is a good one if you take all of the politics out of it. When you consider Atlantic Canada doesn't have one 4 lane highway connecting it with our largest and closet trading partner it makes on wonder especially when Western Canada was just given 500 milion for the Pacific gateway.

Atlantic Canada's Railroads are a disorganized mess with some tracks unable to carry all of the goods required and there being no continuity between them.

What these protestors forget is that these meetings are just that meetings to try and hash out some proposals to present to the governments who will have the final say on borders trade rules and infrastructure if needed which it surely is.

We are at a cuspice right now with the advent of Post Panamax ships not being able to navigate the siphon of Atlantic Prosperity the Saint Lawrence Seaway so we are going to get another kick at the cat if we can convince Canada to support some needed improvements in the Atlantic Gateway. New York harbour and Boston Harbour are maxed out which is another reason this Atlantic Gateway has become a contentious international issue.

In case you didn't notice, the site is called "Charles Leblanc ADHD Activist". Nuff said.

Get real and get some facts, not AIMS propaganda. The meeting had speeches by sponsors, it wasn't a democratic forum for people to advance ideas-the ideas were PRESENTED.

AC railroads aren't a disorganized mess, that's just foolishness, CP and CN have just doubled their track sizes to accommodate increased shipping, yet they still have lots of room.

Thanks to Mulroney, Moncton lost its chance to be a rail 'hub'. CN used to be the largest employer, providing good paying federal jobs. Now, take a look at the rail route-there's a reason it goes through the states and essentially bypasses most of the canadian provinces-namely NB and Quebec, who would at least be on the shipping route.

The rail hub is now in Saint John, and the entire railroad is owned by IRVING, one of the chief architects of 'Atlantica'. So no big surprise the shipping route benefits them. Of course 'Atlantica' couldn't just include Maine, that would be too obvious, especially when they need the shipping route to go to.....Buffalo??

Yes, it turns out the whole reason for Atlantica, at least the transport, isn't to take advantage of the 'north south trade' after all, it's just designed to get to Ontario and the midwest quicker. It'll go through the states so that big business can avoid any complications if Quebec separates, and take advantage of the Toronto bottlenecks.

So be a sucker if you want. We get measly royalties from gas, practically nothing, the same for oil. Even though the border saw a 50% increase in trade over the past five years, last year saw 2000 jobs lost in the transportation and warehousing industries-the only place you'd assume jobs would GROW.

So be a sucker if you want, but these are 'ideas being hashed', go to www.atlantica.org and they have all kinds of studies and recommendations. If you think the Chamber of Commerce and Irvings and the Banks 'hash out ideas' with the rest of us, you're clearly delusional.

Just go take a look at Vermont. Their exports are valued at about one quarter of New Brunswicks. Their literacy rate is double, their poverty rate is half. Their minimum wage is higher, and unemployment is 3.6%, about one quarter of New Brunswicks.

Keep thinking that building transit so that companies can get their stuff through the area as fast as possible will magically transform the region. Those of us who know better aren't so easily fooled. That of course doesn't even address the whole issue of rising gas prices. Hell, with subsidized housing NB could probably MAKE the same crap as the chinese for a comparible price so that the shipping issue could be moot altogether and we could really benefit.

Look at the literature, post panamax ports are being designed along the equator. Look at the transit routes congress is looking at, they are all north to south.

That means that ships will dock in superports in the water, then discharge to smaller vessels. Halifax is already growing as the market demands, with government help. Not only that, the entire success depends on paying port workers next to nothing because its so competitive.

Charles, looks like you wanna be seen as victim in regards to your arrest. You screamed "i'm a blogger, i'm a blogger" when the Saint John police took you down. Well, you blogged against Atlantica for a long time. You were biased. So don't say you didn't take the side of the protesters. You are an eternal protester. So, don't cry and say you're a victim in all this. You deserved what you got.

Charles, don't listen to the pinheads. I know you don't anyway, but you clearly said you weren't going to protest, but to cover it. In fact many times we know you said you didn't even know what it was about. Those are facts but sometimes people's narrowmindedness and hatred of all things active makes them lash out with no facts and fewer contributions.

Don't bother with such people, when they are gone they will be forgotten and the sooner we begin the forgetting the better.

I agree with the above comment that this blog is becoming all about Charles Leblanc. Charles did this and Charles did that. Now look at my face I was there and I was arrested and on and on.

Charles Leblanc said time and again that this blog is not about him it is about issues. Or at times he said that it is about children and drug problem. Now where are the issues and children. Does his word mean anything?

It his picture with this person and that person. Stupid and sickening

Then get lost if you don't like it. Charles had his rights violently trampled on, you may think he should just forget about it and talk about other things.

There are plenty of posts above that are about issues, the LNG terminal for one, and there are no pictures of Charles.

Charles, PLEASE become a little more like Irving and stop posting these *&^% idiots who do nothing but complain.

I'd like to at least half the opposition and say that I'm quite interested in everything you do and I"m glad it's not just issues, or you'd burn yourself out. I enjoy your pictures and wish you had a car so you could go around the province taking more and talking to more people-and yes, having more pictures of yourself. Most of us don't mind. THere are some lazy pricks who want you to just talk about issues so that they can sit on their asses and be content doing nothing.

Have fun Charles.

9:17 it is goody two-shoes as**s like you who do not let him improve himself. Learn to respect others. I think the word idiot was especially invented for you.

These Annoy-nomous commentors have a familiar ring to them right Charles.

In your rebutal to me you confused the issue by including your own personal pleight.

On one hand you say Atlantic Canada's RR's are in confusion because the Moncton railyard was closed down then in the same breath you say our RR's are just fine.
Which is it just fine or a mess?

Theproblem as I see it is we here in Atlantic Canada have been forsaken by Canada and the only way we are going to pull ourseles out of this hole is to do it ourseles because Canada is a colonial/Federation all for the benefit of Ontario or the Appeasement of Quebec.

There is no equality in any of the institutions of Canada for the provinces.
House of Commons Ontario has 108 seats, Quebec 75 seats total of 181 out of 308.
Supreme court which is supposed to be blind justice and represent the morals and ethics of all Canadians has a guaranteed 3 judges from Quebec, 3 from Ontario and the remaining 3 from the other 11 provinces and territories.

Senate which should represent the regions of the rcuntry in an equal and effective way is all but useless. Ontario and Quebec would rather die than see any sort of equality there in the form of a Triple E senate.

Block the Saint Lawrence Seaway if you want to see an improvement in the Atlantic regions economy we are being bypassed and have to payy for the maintenance upkeep and construction of our own demise.

Annonomous posters really deserve alot of credibility and attention because they have such conviction in their views they won't even post their name. Yep.

If it is so good then let us in on the facts. People want the best for everyone not just the wealthy.
I believe if they have intentions of wrong doing then do tell us we want to know the bottom line. Something tells me it won't unfold to us until we are locked in and we can't speak up or defend our rights. Right now as is we have very little we can do when we are wrong by politicians and their Billionaire friends.
This not democratic it a little dictatorship after they are voted in. Somehow we have to have some say but we don't. Every year we struggle and it doesn't get better it is worse. Stress doesnot give us a quality of life when we never know if we are a pay cheque away from losing all we worked hard for.

Okay the ones who think this so great share what you know for sure because we are waiting and questioning what is the real intent and I do believe you are not in the know and even after a $600 meal they arenot sure because not all was brought out.

Wow. We love democracy so much that we want all people who protest arrested.

Stop bad mouthing Charles, it's not all about him we all know that, and without him we wouldn't know what's going on. So feel lucky we have him and what a great job he's doing. I'm just another goody two-shoes, I agree with 9:17 am. You should go 10:06 am. The sooner the better. As for the rest of us we enjoy Mr. Charles LeBlanc. Your lucky I'm not in charge of who stays and who goes because you would be the first to go if I had my way. Bye, Bye. Pinhead.

No one has yet stated all the facts to inform us about how great it will be for us the average person. Waiting to hear if things are suppose to improve for us not the billionaires. They had their 25 year tax break and many more day after day, month after month, year after year, decades after decades and who knows what scam is next.
