Fantastic!!!!! See independence is indeed alive and well.

Charlie it took a bit of doing to get this together but I believe it was well worth the wait!

Thank you to those behind the scene that have made this a reality.

Maybe this officer in question could open a judo school for up and coming young protesters because after all it is a fast growing activity which is only going to continue to get bigger and bigger as we the people get taken advantage of more and more throught International Corperate Greed (I.C.G.)for what's left of the almighty buck within and beyond our borders.

That is a good mixture of pictures and the song. Very funny but what about the copyright of the song.

I wondered about the same thing. There is a music copyright police web site at www.cria.ca I must write them and send along the site.

This Blog Site Charles could get you a Stiff Sentence come Judgement Day.

I think you should cease and decest the site. And say your sorry to Tanker and anyone else you may have possibly offended.

And beg forgiveness from the Irvings. They may even give you another Job if you ask Politely.

Hope this is of some help.

Yeah, you can get into a lot of trouble here. Since you have an ad at the site you can be called a for profit website, and using music without permission can get you into heaps of trouble. It was a number one song and is used in several commercials, which means its copyright is still not public. You're starting to tread on serious ground Charles, this 'I'll take this until somebody comes after me and tells me to stop' makes you lose a lot of credibility. I hope you know what you're doing. It's hard to be an objective blogger, or taken seriously when you go around flouting all laws like that. People are with you....but only when you are in the right.

Whew those ones are long aren't they?

Maybe those two should do the same thing put a 35 year old song in the background so we can listen to a little music as we read their long winded lists of titles that have nothing to do with your little slide show and we all know your living in poverty so your pockets aren't filled with secret commercial money lol.

keep it up pal nothing illegal going on here, it isn't something you specificly go out of your way to spend any amount of time on or asking people to download what you see as interesting to you yourself.
Enjoy the day!

Brilliant is all I can come up with.

Sort of evens the playing field for the little person.

In reality hopeful that this will show the lighter side of what those on higher ground are saying seems to be out of control.

The end result is the little person has every right in this Country to speakout on any and all issues that might shake the very foundation of our freedoms as well as prove there is nowhere near the harmful threat in this Country as some of the BIG (Hint,Hint) PLAYERS might lead you to believe.

There it is in all its simplicity, over re-action and all.

It's not over reaction at all. Charles isn't in the entertainment business and those who don't care what happens to him will just move along to another website.

Copyright infringement is serious business, and nobody takes it more seriously than the music business. There is free music available all over the web, so it's unnecessary. This can get you in serious trouble from the American Association of Recording Artists who have been suing people all over the states.

The above links aren't really helpful, in Canada it is legal to download music, just not upload it, however, taking music and editing it into a program and putting it on the web is very illegal.

Charles, you should at least make it clear that it wasn't you who did the video and that you had nothing to do with it.

Moi??? Made the video???? Nooooooo...It was sent to my this morning by email and it sure was nice to the individual to take the time to do it. I think it's great that everyone wants to do their share. One more time??? I have nothing to do with the video but I sent out my thank you to the individual who made it!!!

Carl Douglas and the CBC have been notified of the copyright infringement.

I'm frustrated by all the negative comments on here belly-aching about copyright acts, etc. Are these people for real? I can't believe what I'm reading here.
God, maybe I better watch myself the next time I go to Karaoke or Saint John Idol ? Someone might arrest me for singing a song I have no permission to sing?
GIve me a break guys !!
CHARLES, THE VIDEO WAS SUPERB, IT WAS FUNNY, IT MUST HAVE TAKEN A LOT OF EFFORT!
I know you said you didn't make it yourself, but hats off to whoever did!!
These other people on here need to lighten up!

Copyright is very serious, and some of us are actual friends of Charles and are looking out for his best interests. Since he didn't do the video then it's not his problem, but he did say "I'm in the video business now".

Charles has one court date already, and we don't want to see him with more. The Music Associations take this very seriously, when you are at karaoke you are not recording your singing and then putting it on a website. Plus, royalties are paid when a song is converted for Karaoke purposes.

The above post was obviously written by somebody who was drunk or trying to scare Charles. Why the hell would CBC care about copyright infringement? It's not their music. And a quick search showed that there is no site for Carl Douglas, so that's baloney.

Many peer to peer services have been shut down by authorities, so saying that you just 'link' to another site hasn't been a justifiable argument in the past. If more of this is done then the site could be closed down very easily by the authorities, and I don't think its paranoia to think there are many politicians and police who would like to see just that. With the google ads, it can easily be argued that the site is now 'for profit', which puts it under much closer scrutiny-you can't go around making money off other peoples materials.

So this is serious stuff. Many besides Charles have a vested interest in making sure the site continues, and if it means 'not lightening up', so be it.

By the way, it was a very good video, even if its one of the most idiotic songs ever written-and apparantly it was written in ten minutes, and yes it would be great if patent holders weren't the most anal people in the world about their 'property', but this is the world we live in.

Oh, the sourpusses are now all concerned about artists' rights and copyright law, are they?

I can't believe how lame some of you pitiful people who obsess with picking at Charles are. Your bellyaching reeks of your jealousy that Charles gets attention.

Posting news stories about P2P busts? Do you even *begin* to understand the issue? Do you think the music industry, busy going after million-trading P2P networks, gives a crap about one song on one blog? Weak!!!

If the CBC did slap Charles' wrist for posting the video, he'd blog about it and who would look like the asses? The CBC.

Face it, boys, Charles wins again.

All Google needs is a court order, which can be obtained from any court. The reality is that this is serious, I have several friends who were warned by Aliant that they had been informed by the software association of america that they were downloading software illegally. They were told if they got such a message again they would be banned from the network.

In the US, the 'millions' of people trading peer to peer who have been sued have consisted, among others, to a 92 year old great grandmother, and an 11 year old girl. The more 'noticeable' you are, the higher the likelihood. As said, a lot of politicians don't like charles, and while they don't have international clout, they have lawyers.

It's not exactly 'winning' if it hauls Charles into court and shuts down the blog.

Boy that would be a shame it this site ever was shut down LOLOLOLOL

Where else could we go and insult one another?
