To The Hon Dr.Edward Doherty:,

1

Member of The Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick for Saint John Harbour.

I would just like to take a moment to thank you for your gift of generosity toward the Second Annual Memorial for those who have died from their addiction to the Government run Video Lottery Terminals.

2

It is with great regret that I must inform you I will be declining your offer as mentioned in the above Gift to make a donation in my name to Romero House, as I m only a spokesperson for those who have fallen victim to the addiction of Video Lottery Terminals and who longer have their voice.

But would respectfully ask that you still make your generous offer to Romero House but in the names of Mr.& Mrs. Donald Bishop of Saint John N.B. as they have paid a much greater price from “The “Community Casino” or “Video Lottery Terminal Exploitation Program” than I have.

My life can slowly be put back together and my relations with Family members and Friends can heal with time.

I strongly believe that they have suffered the ultimate price with the loss of their Son
( Eric Leonard Bishop) To this community disease that is indeed run by the Government of New Brunswick .

I would also like to take this opportunity to Thank you very much for thinking of those who have past away under these conditions and am looking forward to your new interests and support on this issue.

But we must keep this issue in the forefront to make any and all head ways to better the control of their use with stricter guidelines on rules and regulations as well as their set up within those establishments in which they are used.

Also I am looking forward to furthering our discussion over the phone on Wednesday night about whether or not it is possible to take another look at reviewing the 7 year old questionable Referendum in which these Terminals fall solely under Provincial control and be kept all throughout this Province.

To see whether or not there is room for implementing some sort of change to allow the Municipalities to hold their own vote on whether or not cities can decide for themselves if they want to continue this community despair that comes with having these machines throughout their City establishments but receive no compensation to help with the downfall of those said communities which suffer the most from their non-return losses in Community revenue.

Thank you very much for finally giving a bit of your time & attention to this matter and I am looking forward to any future help on this issue that you may be able to supply.

Respectfully Yours

what about those of us who are addicted to Pro Line tickets, scratch tickets and other lottery tickets??
Where's our help? You call that 1-800 gambling line and all you get is a tele-care nurse advising you of a gamblers anonymous meeting.

So go to the gamblers anonymous meeting.

Ed has had more than a year to get moving, but doesn't even care that restaurants across the street from his office are breaking the law.

Although I agree with the above comment that Dr.Doherty has had more than enough time to put his voice to this issue for some sort of resolve on those who are obviously bending any or all (Suggestive Rules) of the operating procedures for vlts,

I tend to doubt that there are any laws being broken but there in itself is where the major problem with this issue lies.

There are really no rules of operation on paper to actually have to follow, which is basicly were part of the problem of this program seems to run into an unfair balance to those wanting some sort of organized proceedures to follow.

Charles why did the Telegraph-Journal not cover the memorial this year?

I could not believe there was no mention of it in the paper considering the coverage it got last year on the front page.

How can it have great importance one year but not the next?

Would it be fair to say that tim might be found guilty by association based on your continuous bashing of the Irving Family?

Because outside of that reason I can find no other to justify the reason if there even is one to not cover this very important issue.

I thought the main theme lately of the Irvings and their paper was to work with the citizens for fair and balanced journalizm for those trying to get these type of important issues out to the public.

Well this is just a typical move by a Liberal Minister. Too scared to meet you thereselves but will send you a note telling you of how important an issue is and that you are doing a great job showing the public all the "eyesoars" that are associated with it. Kind of reminds me of Kelly Lamrock sending out his Albert street school plan by letter and not to reporters. Come to think of it isn't that how the insurance industry tells you your insurance is going up by a letter?

Well I hope now you can see that the Liberals are all talk and no action. Paying off Tanker, cutting the HST rebate, not changing the insurance industry.

The liberals have already been in office too long and Shawn has to go.

LNG EMPLOYEES HELP OUT

Robert Garnett of the Canaport LNG Project presents $1,092.87 to Carolyn McNulty, Executive Director of Romero House, on behalf of the SNC-CENMC employees.

The money was collected by recycling pop bottles and can, as well as donations from staff.

If Friday marked a very Sad State of Affairs, I'm scared to death to see what tomorrow holds for this Province.
