Last Friday, I made a stopover at City Hall and had a little chat with a member of City’s staff.

It was indeed true someone phoned the woman telling her she wasn’t allowed to put Yellow Ribbons in the downtown area.

The main reason was -

If she’s allowed to post these yellow Ribbons therefore it’ll set up a precedent for black, green or pink ribbons campaigns.

They need to have some sort of control over the issue.

Another concern is the use of tacks or nails on the trees.

This could damage our good trees.

All ribbons should be like this one in front of the Legislature.

The individual made it very clear the Mayor and Council supports out troops.

I believe the reason I jumped the gun is because I had some complaints in the past toward me in a cowardly way.

This was especially true during my protest in front of the Legislature.

The Police were called on a complaint against me but the cops wouldn’t tell me who made the complaint?

I would have emailed the Mayor on this issue but someone blocked my email.

I cannot send an email to someone with fredericton.ca. < Someone is working on this issue as I write this blog >

So, Now you know the rest of the story behind the order to stop the Yellow Ribbons campaign.

The yellow ribbons I placed on Prospect St. were all tied around the trees and poles, no tacks, staples, etc...just for the record, they are not harming anything! Thank you for doing a blog on this.

Everybody please continue to keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers!

That of course was only one concern jodi. I can only assume the person responsable for placing the ribbons originally also was informed as to why they could not stay up. You may not have been particularly happy with that decision but it is the cities choice. That really should have been all that was needed to be said.
