Although I support the efforts to save University Woodlot but to call it TIANANMEN SQUARE is a blatant insult to the victims of TIANANMEN SQUARE. No one was killed or shot. More crap from you.

That's pretty unfair. He said 'style', and thats it. This guy laid down in front of the backhoe, and thats the only real comparison a person can make. It's a perfectly valid comparison.

Say what you want, that guy has more guts than most. Somehow I doubt it'll make the media in the same way the China one did.

I don't know all the facts, but I listened to the audio and that guy clearly said they weren't going to develop until they had a plan. Where is the plan? These people sa there is none, and UNB won't comment. Anybody seen the development plan?

It's pretty sad what people will do for attention

More crap.
Ask Dan Bussieres and police officer of Saint John. They are really in love with you and cannot wait to lay their hands on you.

Oooh the outcry, six people. How many more were shopping at Home Depot that day. These people should be charged with obstruction and ignored. Get a job.

disable the machines, not once but everytime they show up there.
...just take a jackknife or some water......wait, better yet..........take some..

Charles, you're going a little strong on saying:"Many bureaucrats believe these protesters should be killed". Did a bureaucrate tell you that? If not, stop taking us for fouls by feeding us all sorts of crap. An opinion is saying what "you" believe, not what you think others believe.

That guy is just another Asphat or whatever in the heck his name is.
LOSER

To all of those who were at this protest, congratulations! I miss you guys and I wish I could have been there to support you!

I haven't seen the media attention yet aside from this blog, but to me it seems like it was quite successful!

Cowardly people usually have that opionion of people with balls. In history it has always been that very few people will actually stand up against their government. Most people simply accept it because they figure there is nothing they can do. I doubt that if you went door to door asking people how much they really want yet another department store on this land you'd get many saying they really want more stores.

That is a bit of hyperbole and vindictiveness though, most of these posters at this blog aren't bureaucrats but there are plenty who come down hard on protestors. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the guy had been killed that there would be a few who would have said 'he really shouldn't have been there'.

If you want to see the plan go to the UNB website and find it, they only made their initial anouncement about 4 years ago. Of course for the handful protesting that really matters little.
A little touchy today Charles? The only one to equate protestors to unemployment has been yourself.
As to the suggestion that it takes balls to lay under a large block of concrete well, your close...but I suspect that another body part close by might be a more apt discription
Everything starts with small numbers anonymous 5:23. A worth while cause will of course attract more support...the vast majority wil simply disappear. Just because their protestors doesn't mean they have a cause.

He shouldn't have been under a concrete block. If he'd been killed or hurt it would have been his own stupid fault. If he wants to be stupid that's his problem.

It's privately owned property that has been made available for public use, government has nothing to do with this land development.

Since it IS privately owned property and if someone had jumped under heavy machinery "in protest" and died as a result, then what other possible comment could be made if that happened?

the woodlot belongs to the people of Fredericton

Only 31 pictures in this blog. I didn't get the point, can you take a few more so know what it's all about (insert sarcasm).
