Tracy is a gal who works behind the scenes and often joins a protest.

She’s a very smart one!!! If she finds something that is not right? She'll stand up and be counted!!!! There's nothing wrong with the girl.

But this time around? I didn’t agree with her stand of removing the Yellow Ribbons.

So being Charles? I decided to pay her a little visit.

Once I came face to face with Tracy. I proudly showed her my support our troops T-shirt.

I don’t believe we should be in Afghanistan but I wear the t-shirt in memory of the Canadian Soldiers who died during these last few months.

I quickly notice that little Tracy was a little stressed out. She told me the paper didn’t have all the facts of what she said?

WHAT??? THE IRVINGS WROTE SOMETHING THAT WASN’T RIGHT????

WOW!!!!

Tracy was a little upset with all the attention this issue got across Canada.

N.B. group behind anti-yellow ribbon campaign
28/09/2007 2:07:16 PM

Fredericton's mayor is calling a peace coalition misguided as the group pressures local businesses to stop displaying yellow decals calling for support of Canadian troops in Afghanistan.

She did remind me that Canadian soldiers are killing the citizens of Afghanistan.

I held her hand to find out if her nerves were shot????..lol

IMG_5401

I told her that she’ll never be a blogger!!! It's much too stressful!!!!

IMG_5403

The Fredericton Peace Coalition did succeed on one issue???

http://frederictonpeace.org/?page_id=3

They bought this emotional issue to the forefront.

Tracy reminded me the October campaign against the Ribbons hasn’t even began yet and the public have been debating this issue big time during the past 48 hours.

Spinks and Gypsy Blog are even into the issue.

So Tracy? Relax and take everything in stride.

You are allowed to speak your mind and we’re allowed to post or wear a yellow Ribbon.

This is what makes Canada such a beautiful place to live.

Hang in there Girl and keep on the fine work!!!!

Tracy should take a trip to Israel and then to Afghanistan and then come back and explain her overall take on what is going on there.
Believing one perspective on aconflict is one thing, but taking that side of the story is called bias and is meaningless to me. You want to have an impact on the world, dont repeat what one want's you to tell everyone; go experience what both sides are experiencing than I will listen to your experience and observation...

Didn't you say many times you were not reading the Irving newspapers?

Do you have the cash to send him? We all should do the same on many issues in life but that is not possible for many reasons.

I also believe we should respect her feelings and still be able to express all different opinions.

You don't always have to have experience on all issues.

Wish people would go live with the poor for a few months and then say they had it good. ( Take the welfare check and nothing else). We all have quick know it all opinions about small things; frankly we know nothing what it is like.
Very thankful I have a full time job that pays and house I own but still lots of bills like everyone else. Life is very costly; personally and financially.

One third of the military are drug addicts claims CBC.

What a country!
Telling others how to live.

The Canadian Forces are struggling to help the drastically rising number of soldiers seeking treatment for drug addictions as their combat mission in Afghanistan continues.

Spending cuts in the 1990s decimated part of the military's internal mental-health program, and now the Department of National Defence says it's in the process of rebuilding it.

Already, bases across the country have seen significant increases in drug addiction. CFB Edmonton has experienced a 250-to-300-per-cent increase in the number of soldiers referred for addiction treatment this year compared with last, Maj. Christine Wells said.

But the base lacks the resources to deal with the high number of referrals, in part because it is short at least one drug and alcohol counsellor.

"It's always a challenge to find good, qualified counselors to treat our soldiers," Wells said.

It's a problem the military fears could worsen over the next year.

"We realize the whole health care system is under strain," said retired Lt.-Col. James Jamieson, who is in charge of addiction services for the forces.

The military is not always able to keep up with the needs of soldiers, but it is trying to fix the problem, he said.

"We have been moving heaven and earth to try and increase the number of mental health professionals."

In the past two years, roughly 2,500 Canadian Forces members have been treated for addictions

The only thing the Irving media did wrong in the story was not probing this group further.

This group can call itself what it wants but it's very basis of being was to protest Israel while turning a blind eye to Hezbollah who load stashes of weapons and embed themselves in civilian areas and use children and the elderly as human shields. That's Ms. Glynn's business but to call themselves a "peace" organization is incredibly misleading. It's anti-Israeli, anti-U.S. and anti-Canadian military. A run through their site is clearly anti-military at every level so for Ms. Glynn to say that she supports the troops as she said in the Daily Gleaner is hogwash. Her own actions demonstrate otherwise. However in Canada, she's free to say what she wants, unlike the people in Taliban led Afghanistan.

Interesting enough, they've achieved something and that's getting people to express even more publicly support for Canadian troops. Some good did come out of a misconceived idea.

Tracy, here is a little advice for you. If you are going to stand up for an issue which you believe in, be prepared for misquotes & misinterpretations by media and others. I have been an activist/lobbist for over 10 years for autism treatment. You will have to "find your spine" but also be prepared for the heat, you will certainly endure on this issue.
My husband just returned from Afghanistan, so you know where I stand on your "yellow ribbon" stuff. I don't agree with you one bit. The reason you are able to voice your concerns in Canada, and not be arrested or assinated, is because many years ago, our Canadian soliders fought for our freedom. Always remember this luxury. It was fought for.....hard. You are only seeing things from one view. Before you speak look at things from all angles and do your research from all sides. That is the biggest problem with all you peace activists....you are always jumping on a "band wagon" of some sort. It gets wearing.
Surely you will attend a Rememberance Day ceremony, and not with a anti-war sign, surely you would have better class than to that.
See you on Rememberance Day...and with an open mind, I hope.

The yellow ribbons must come down!

The yellow ribbons are printed by Canex. Canex is owned by the Department of Defense, and is using the ribbon campaign as PR to twist things into supporting military operations abroad. The bureaucrat said: "Only 30% of the people support the war, but 90% support the troops." The current Middel East operation is about oil, drugs and money. We have nothing to do there. Every business using a yellow ribbon in their window is only profiteering from war. Anybody that is for this middle east mess is a coward, because their are letting someone else do the fighting.

The troops must come back home and defend our borders. We have no business over there. Let those people run their own country. Until then, the troops are just mercenaries taking in a 4k$ bonus a month tax free. If they go there believing they are actually rebuilding a country, it's because they are very misinformed.

War is peace! Is doublespeak from the novel 1984. People are sheep.
This warshipping of the troops is one of the signs of fascism.

1:05 AM? I don't read the Irving papers as was proven when they made a little story about the R.C.M.P. investigating my arrest in Saint John.

I didn't know anything about it until 5 days later.

I believe in freedom of speech.

What happen to me in Saint John was a disaster for the Irving media.

The verdict made the New York Times and made the Irving's paper the next day.

The Irvings will go after their enemies via their newspaper.

Someone told me about Tracy so I looked for it.

Stay on the issue of this blog- Yellow Ribbons!!!

You continue to write letters to Irving papers and then proudly post them here. You are fooling no one. You are full of it.

She looks both terrifed of and disgusted with you

You can still support the troops and also want to end war. Reality right now is that we have to defend peoples rights in other countries because the committment that has been made. Would you want people to turn their backs on your family and ignore what is going on Afghanistan? Really no one would if they were living in that turmoil. To keep peace we somtimes have to defend our people and their people. War is never pretty. Sometimes people just don't know the real truth of what is going on. We need to respect her rights too.

YOUR COMMENTS ARE UNCALLED FOR. Maybe your vocabulary is limited. Everyone has a right to speak out even you. Respect seems to be lacking.

7:55 I'm not sure what smoking pot and Yellow Ribbins have in common - call me crazy. I support the troops but not the war as well. I support the men and women who leave their families behind, who risk their lives so we cna have a blog like this to state our opinions freely. China just banned certain commercials from their TV - imagine a world where you were told what you could not watch or read or.... Our soldiers are brave and courageous men and women who are doing their job. I support them as I support doctors and lawyers and everyone, or maybe support is the wrong word, maye we should say we respect them for making a career out of a challenging and less than rewarding profession at times - there - I RESPECT THE TROOPS.
