Residents of a small New Brunswick community were mourning the deaths of three young men whose bodies were discovered Sunday morning trapped in a car that plunged into the frigid waters of a local bay.
Emergency services personnel stand near the scene of the accident on Sunday.
(CBC)
The three men, whose names have not yet been released, had not been heard from after leaving a party in Albert County on Saturday evening. A friend called police after he went looking for them and found their car upside down in the water near a dam in Harvey in Albert County.
The RCMP believe the car veered off a snow-covered back road late Saturday night and plunged into the water after the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn.
The vehicle was found upside down in about six metres of water, RCMP Sgt. Derek Strong
