I would much rather see that 400 million put into solar & wind power & kyoto.

we have to change our mind set NOW & get our ass in gear on alternative energies & getting the world together on kyoto.

Tell that to Bernard Lord. He wants more coal-fired power plants. Did he not use that argument with feds too?

We are half a billion $$$ in the hole because of Bernard Lord. Feds were willing to contribute $150 million to $200 towards Point Lepreau but he had to play his stupid little intimidation games to get $400 million. Then $100 million childcare money is still up in the air. Over $100 million in gas tax rebate still not signed. Add that to $2 billion gone in batched Orimulsion deal. This man is costing us too much.

The feds still dropped the ball on this one IMO. They led the Province on that there would be money and pulled the plug. Andy Scott had a boil removed at the same time. Isn't that one of the seven plagues?

I am not goign to defend federal government or Andy Scott. But you do not negotiate by making threats. Bernard Lord said- you better pay up or we are going to have coal-fired power outfits. That is stupid. It is equal to saying- pay up or we will suffocate nb with pollution. You just do not make threats. It will be interestng what Bernie does next week. It looks he has a boil in his head.

I think it's the plague of frogs. Seriously though tough decision. Hundreds of millions to refurbish or likely twice as much to mothball it. No CANDU reactor has ever been decommissioned so who knows what we're getting into. The point about the Feds is that if they didn't plan on getting involved, they should have said so up front. The misleading the Liberals have done federally is despicable. I'm still waiting to see the end of the GST as promised in '93. The HST sure doesn't fit the bill despite the spin they put on it.

Our immediate problem is Bernard Lord. His screw ups are simply too many. Let us put our own house in order before we can reform the whole nation.

Not a bad idea but who's waiting in the wings to take over? It sure isn't Shawn Graham and the NDP effectively have no leader.

Shawn Graham would be a great leader! He would listen to New Brunswickers concerns! Not like the one who's there now!!!
