Good for Mr.Andy Savoy, MP Tobique-Mactaquac . He put Lord, the moron, in his place. Lord thinks he is the Prime Minister and continues to play federal politics.

Savoy publicly rebukes New Brunswick premier

JORGE BARRERA
The Daily Gleaner

OTTAWA - Premier Bernard Lord was playing into the hands of Quebec separatists when he questioned Governor General designate Michaelle Jean's commitment to Canada, says the chairman of the Liberal party caucus.

Tobique-Mactaquac MP Andy Savoy said Lord helped the separatists advance their agenda by reacting to their smear campaign against the next governor general.

"It helped the separatist and it helped push their agenda forward by getting more media attention on this and spreading more discontent. It helped the separatist cause," said Savoy, in an interview Thursday.

During the annual premier's meeting in Banff, Alta. last week, Lord said Jean needed to clear the air about her allegiances after a separatist newspaper said Jean and her husband were supporters.

Alberta Premier Ralph Klein also expressed concerns over the allegations.

Savoy said Lord should have kept his comments to himself and stayed away from the federal sphere.

"Maybe we should start weighing in on provincial issues. Maybe next time he closes down a school or a hospital maybe we should weigh in," said Savoy.

"This does not involve Bernard Lord so why would he get into it, but to raise his federal profile across Canada for his next political move," Savoy said.

"Does that help relations between the federal government and New Brunswick? Obviously not, so mind your own business," Savoy fumed.

Gee, like the federal government doesn't ALREADY stick its nose in. I know this is the 'I hate Bernard Lord' site, but the Premier's comments seem pretty mellow. A microphone was stuck in his face and he was asked about it, that hardly counts as a big deal. Asking if its true whether the Queen's representative favours dismantling the country is hardly a step out of line.

I wish those &$#@heads from the federal government WOULD stick there nose in when a hospital is getting closed down. The only thing more useless than our provincial government is our federal government.

How many Premiers travel to meet head of states like President of France at taxpayer's expense. Lord attempted to have meeting with Bush and travelled to Washington D.C. Invited Bush to Larry's Gulch which is a joke. Entertained amabasssdor of U.S. at Larry's Gulch at taxpayers' expense. Let us face it Lord has been playing Prime Minister for a while now. That shows how dum he is when it comes to federal/provincial jurisdiction. No wonder relations are so tense.

Notice the key word there(Boy)I think his record pretty well speaks for itself,Come into a province,Convince them he knows what he's doing,Run for office,Devestate their affairs,Create total caos,Run them into the ground, Lie to the end about finances and then Plays russian rullette with their lives to cover his inexperiances on the loss of millions of dollars all so he can play hopscotch around the Country and the world and then we wake up and realize it's going to take us at least 25 years to recover from this devestation.
One couldn't even imagine what he could possibly do to our Country other than to sell it to the lowest bidder.

5:59. Are your comments directed at Lord or Martin because they do apply to Lord. The millions we lost as a result of Tolls removal and Orimulsion fiasco alone will take more that 25 years to recover from.

6:27 your right on the mark it pretty well shows I'm not the only one who can pick berny out in the croud!
And I suppose if one was to pick apples & oranges we kind of got what we deserve when we put a non-New Brunswicker in OUR office to mind the store, did we really think we were that bad off that out of three quarters of a million N.B.ers we couldn't find just one of our own that we could put enough faith in to do the job???
WEll let this be a lesson to us all never hire outside help!!
How's that go?? "No outside workers need apply!!

Feds dump 100s of millions of dollars besides transfer payment to help the province. Berni thinks all that money is for him, for his travels, for his self-promotion tours and activities, and for patronage to hire defeated Tories and other political buddies. One of his supporter insists it is not patronage it is just hiring friends.

Dream on, the feds put next to nothing into NB, go look it up. Ontario gets ten times as much plus all of their industries are protected. The feds stand by and kill the fisheries industry, won't touch the forestry industry, but if an automaker or steel plant in Ontario is in trouble they bend over backwards to protect the industry.

The only industries they'll protect in NB are Irving ones, remember the 56 million dollar gift they gave them two years ago? They've got federal regulations to abide by, they've got international trade agreements they can't break.
I don't agree with what the Premier does but all that travel is for one thing-to try to drum up business, which is pretty much all ANY premier does now, because it's all they can do.
The federal government gutted health care transfers, which is why hospitals have to close. If you think the feds are friends of the maritimes you don't know your history-or present. What do you expect when you've got less than half the representation of Ontario. That may be because of population, but it doesn't change the fact.

The feds are the ones who take all your tax dollars and then send back a pittance, just enough to keep the place poor. The federal government is the IMF of Canada. You can hardly even get them to invest in highways anymore-even the trans canada. But they've got lots of money to give to Monsanto to help put farmers out of work.

As far as patronage goes, find me ONE government that doesn't function that way. McKenna's idea of patronage was to hire all his friends from Ontario to work in his communications department, which was five times the size of Lord's, while building a new entire industry (VLT's) which made criminals into millionaires, impoverished the population, and provided much of the fodder for this website. For VLT's Lord is a vast improvement over the liberals, at least now the money comes to the province not to a few millionaires and they passed tons of legislation on them. Not enough I grant you, but a heck of a lot more than the liberals had. The libs certainly never had a referendum on it.

Horrors of Lord government continue. As Tim Smith pointed out that another person has hung himself as a result of VLT addiction. Lord does not care. He is too busy to look after himself and hide behind some referendum where close to half the population said no.

Abuse of prescription drugs is escalating. Read today's Times and Transcript. Prostitution is on the rise in Lord's hometown Moncton. Is he going to do anything about it, of course not. Lord can say he is bringing prosperty there. Drugs sitution is bad in Fredericton and Saint John. It is reported in Gleaner and Telegeraph.

Fables of Lord's prospertity continue to unfold. 9:49 poster you are right that previous governents were no saviour but we have to look at the present. It is good that you recognize that Lord is screwing this province.

Ali Baba Mockler is unhappy that Mr. Savoy criticised Lord for meddling in federal affairs. Lord does that constantly when he was going to negotiate free trade with U.S. Many times he tried play head of the state. Ali Baba should know that. Lord is wasting too much of our money on his travels. He has to show nothing in return as to what province has gained from his travels other than paying the tab.

For Brenda Fowlie's foul up on privacy issue taxpayer will be paying $57, 000 for the fiasco. Cost for Justice Stratten investivation and major portion is Fowlie's legal fees. Lord government will bleed to death New Brunwickers. $57000 here and a million there and million over there is all adding up.

57 grand is almost nothing, what specifically is the 'million here' and a 'million there'; those are the real issues.

Anonymous said...

For some 57 grands is a lot, lot of money. Ask those who have to go to soup kitchen to keep soul and body together. Ask those who survive on $260 a month, ask those families with children who are trying to survive at 10-20 grands a year. Ask single mothers ask disabled who are struggling to survive. If you are Irving then 57 grand is nothing for you. But vast majority do not have that kind of money to squander on lawyers fees.

She did not need a lawyer. She must have resigned after she was caught red-handed broadcasting personal information. Lord government has used that tactics with ordinary citizens, tactics of intimidation.

How many millions Hay of NBPower spent on legal fees, for lawyers from Toronto as local lawyers were not good enough for him, for Orimulsion court case which was not to be.
