I was certain that the show wouldn't return because of all the Anti-Irving callers! Are you happy that the show is returning? Let me know your views on this talk show!

I think Talk Of The Town should have some of the Company head honcho officals explain to those who listen to the C-98 FM morning show on a daily basis, explain as to why Mr. Dan Reid is no longer there.
Maritime Broadcasting the current owners of CFBC, K-100 AND C-98 FM have driven all three stations into the ground.
Here is the Tom Youngs newspaper article from this past Wednesday.
Well-known radio personality vanishes from air
TOM YOUNG THE LAUNDRY LIST
Some radio rumblings this week. If you're a C98 listener you might be wondering what's going on with "Reid and Rose", the morning show that has been popular in the listening area for a number of years now. The answer is Reid is gone. I'm hearing a decision was made at the company's head office in Halifax, where all the Maritime Broadcasting Company decisions are made that Dan should be shown the door and he was on Friday. His dismissal has nothing to do with any "on-air" performance. What led to the dismissal? There are all kinds of rumours and speculation but the company is saying nothing. A call to the station Friday afternoon asking to speak to Dan Reid was answered with, "I'm sorry, Mr. Reid is no longer with our company." Reid has been a fixture in Saint John radio for more than 20 years and there are no indications as to what his plans are. It didn't take the company long to begin advertising his job, an ad appeared on a well-known radio website Friday afternoon. The company realizes that with the ratings starting in about a month they have to be quick in finding a replacement. This story has some legs and we'll keep you posted.
Some of you will know that a new radio station is soon to hit the air in Saint John. However, I don't think it will be as soon as the initial indications.
The Rogers Group, owners of the new licence had initially indicated the station would be up and running by Sept. 1 but now it seems more likely closer to October. The focus of the new operation will be news and talk and there have been indications some staff members will be hired from the Saint John area.
I mentioned a moment ago, radio ratings. They are done twice a year and are used primarily as a sales tool to convince prospective advertisers the size of a radio stations audience and the ages of the people who are listening to the individual stations. It's interesting in Saint John that the listening habits go against most of the country. Locally the most listened to station is the one that plays country music, Country 94 CHSJ.Then in listening order, it's The Wave 97.3, K-100 100.5, C98 98.9 and CFBC 930. Oh by the way, the young lady you hear on CFBC in the afternoon isn't even in Saint John. She does a radio show at a station in Summerside, P.E.I., records her local show and puts it on computer and then sends it over. Also, I don't think there is one commercial station in the city that has any "live" programming after midnight and prior to 5:30 a.m. and few stations that have anybody live on the air after 6 p.m.
The dead giveaway on "live" radio is the weather. If the announcer fails to include current temperature and weather conditions at that moment it means simply that weather forecast was "canned" several hours before you're hearing it on the computer.
I listen to Talk of the Town whenever I can and do not like to miss it. I do not like there music, because the 60's, 70's, 80's are played alot and I like the variety of all music. I do enjoy the new country songs and the easy listening music too. I always tryed to listen to music my children listened to so I always could relate to different music. My children are in there mid to late 20's and I am in my early 50's. If CFBC station is on I have to change the station but my husband likes CFBC's music but he is late 50's.
I always said if you woke up after being in a coma for thirty years and you were listening to CFBC you would not notice it is 2005.
Sorry but it is true change the music and I would love to listen more.
Glad to hear TOTT will be back on air August 22. We need this communication going on in Saint John because no one is listening to us, Premier, MLA and most of all the Mayor and most of the Councillors are in their own little world and have their own agenda and we have no say.
Our pay doesn't go up but all services and taxes are going up and soon we should just be depositing our pay cheques in the new Irving Bank or give it to Premier Lord and he can look after us. Saint John can no longer subsidize the rich.
Excellent News! Talk of the Town coming back. This show has more power than people might realize. I wish they would have an evening show once a week or more so working people that have no radios at work could call in on issues.
D.R. apparently being investigated by the SJ Police for something. This seems to go deeper than it may appear and the company is being wise for distancing themselves from him.
