Just shows how low in the barrel we'll go if this is our only choices, lets stay liberal until we at least have a real choice.

Spinks said...

Sure stay Liberal federally if you want your money to continually be stolen and be lied to repeatedley....ironically the same thing so many on this forum find so despicable about Lord. I'm not sure why so many let Martin off so easy for worse. Maybe someone can come up with an intelligent response about why Martin's sins are so forgiveable while Lord's are not.

You said "I hate Bernard Lord". Now you are playing his defender.Make up your mind, Spinks. You beat any politician on flip-flops. No wonder you are getting flip-flop as a Christmas gift. Bernard Lord caused the loss of $3 billion just on Orimulsion fiasco. Sponsorship scandal is peanuts compared to that and that was for whole of Canada and Martin was not even Prime Minister when it happened. He was outscast. That does not justify Federal Liberals' fiasco but Lord is a bigger disaster. Moreover this site mostly discusses provincial politics and not federal politics.

I think this site is popular because too many are fed up with Lord and this site provides the outlet to express their frustrations.

Anonymous said...

Very well spoken #807, Umm Mr.Spinks do you not have a response lol???

Anonymous said...

True, but I think there needs to be an outlet for federal politics, maybe another blog. The feds have done as much damage as the provincial government over the years.

Keep in mind though that orimulsion was not a criminal deal but just a colossal blunder. There really was no way to know that Venezuela would pull the plug. Obviously there were huge screwups, but a screwup is far different from criminal activity.

For Martin I don't think most people like the man, I just think most people are simply scared of Mr.Harper-of course there are plenty of conservatives about. Mr.Harper's chief of staff is an american who says completely scary things, and of course Mr.Harper is well known for his 'culture of defeat' remarks.

For Martin though I think it unlikely that he knew directly what was going on, in politics the people who do this kind of stuff are smart enough to not get the head cheese involved so they don't stink. Martin is truly a scary man who as finance minister bankrupted canada's social programs and is one of the worst businessmen around. However, he is already pretty conservative financially, which is what most want, whereas Harper is conservative both financially AND socially, and on the latter many people are still uncomfortable.

Spinks, why do yo not start a federal blog and you have many other issues too.

You exonerated Martin so what can one say.
Colossal blunder? Colossal incompetence will be more appropriate. Lord government was trying to sell Colson Cove to private sector and that is why a deal was not signed. The outgoing chair of NB Power said that and he is more believable. Why you think Lord does not allow an inquiry and won't give extension to outgoing Auditorial General who wanted to look into the issue. It shows guilt on the part of Lord and his government. Don't you think that after this "colossal blunder" New Brunswickers need to know what happened.

8:40pm, you know I always have a response. Ha ha.

I've never said I hate Bernard Lord (that would seem pretty clear) although I did refer to this as the "I hate Bernard Lord" website." Now I did say I didn't vote for him last election. There's a distinct difference at least outside of this forum.

As far as what gets discussed on this forum I leave that up to Charles to moderate, not people who will only go by anonymous. Take your issue up with him.

Mr. Lord will be in Saint John to give one Million dollars to the city for the expansion to the harbour passage on chesley dr.

Well isn't that nice now,
if only he would reconsider and put half of that towards addiction services to help save lives from VLT suicides and upgrade the methedone program and save those poor soles also.
And while he is here he might want to explain to the widow of the gentleman who committed suicide over vlt addiction and explain to her how the money is more important to the harbour passage.
If he even remotely thinks that a cause like that will earn him votes in the next election,he might as well take the money back to fredericton and use it for another trip or some other useless purpose that his genius can come up with...

Spinks you have amenasia. You said very clearly that "I hate Bernard Lord". There was no connection with this site as being Lord hatter in your remark. Go check your previous posts. One wonders about your sanity now because those who flip-flop still have sanity intact. The person who was going to give you flip-flop Christmas gift may have to rethink now.

Prove it 9:29am or knock off the smear campaign.

Anonymous said...

I'm not 9:29 but is this what you guys are looking for????I think he's got you there spinks!!!

My good buddy I didn't vote for last election.? Is that the one? Ha Ha. I simply like to add some context like a few others here do, besides "I hate Lord".

Well, really it's hard to tell if you're not 9:29 or not but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Let me explain how quotes work. Rarely does one quote himself. I'm no exception. My reference was to those who constantly bash Lord on everything. I'm impressed you guys take the time and energy to deal with my comments though. Thanks.

Spinks, there are quite a few who stumble upon your fumbles. I am another one who is amused by your flip-flops. You repeatedly say you do not like Bernard Lord and then next post you are defending him. You had similar pattern on VLTs. Does it not bother you that you constantly contradict yourself? There is something called credibility. Have you ever heard of it?

Does anyone know why LNG is no good for Charlotte county but Lord Government is giving Irving $125 Million tax break to have it in Saint John.
+++++++++
Chuck Brown/ Telegraph-Journal
About 1000 people from the St. Andrews area and Downeast, Me., attended an anti-LNG rally in St. Andrews Monday night. Two U.S. companies want to build liquefied natural gas import terminals on the Maine shore, near St. Andrews.

12:46pm - no putting words in my mouth, my friend.
I said I didn't vote for him last time. That is all. I like some of what Lord has done but not all and frankly in my riding the Liberal candidate has proved to be a rock-solid MLA regardless of political stripe.

I can't find a "flip-flop" or "stumble" and only an anonymous poster says so but perhaps there are points which you are misinterpreting on purpose or otherwise which require clarification due to reading them instead of talking face-to-face. Feel free to point out where you're confused and I would be pleased to clarify for your benefit if you're truly interested.

Anonymous said...

Actually 'flip-flop' are not my words. I just saw others using it. Do you think everybody is wrong and you are right.

Anonymous said...

You should not say what is wrong with you people rather what is wrong with you Spinks because he goes back and forth.

Lord has indeed single-handedly screwed this province. No one before him could do that and we hope and pray no one will do it after him. Billions of dollars down the drain and drain is still running.
He has truly butchered the healthcare.

Spinks said...

Wayne, welcome to the discussion. It's great to see a) someone sign a name besides anonymous and b) back up his statements with some examples for a change.

I doubt Lord is going to call an election anytime soon though. If people are that ticked off and they probably are, I wouldn't call one without at least trying to fix the problems first. IMHO.

Spinks said...

2:41pm - you still haven't provided examples. Are you content to continue to run the smear campaign or do you wish to have a real discussion?

Anonymous said...

Mr. McQueen you are right on. Wait until LNG is up and running and you will get lot more pollution. If you are Iriving he will give you $125 millin in tax break. If you are big business, insurance company then he will do anything for you.

Anonymous said...

Spinks, someone did post an example for you few posts above. Don't attach different meanings to it now.

Anonymous said...

I've never seen Spinks flip-flop. He's a bit inconsistent in choosing between social conservativism and libertarianism, but I don't remember him flip-flopping.

I disagree with him on most issues, but I think those who insult him or call for him to be censored rather than debate him on substance should grow up.

Anonymous said...

I do not believe in censor either. Flip-flops, someone did suggest a Christmas gift for him as a pair of flip-flops. Must be some reaon.

Anonymous said...

Does inconsistent not amount to flip-flop??

Actually I supported Spinks on some issues but then he baffles you with some bizzar ideas.

Spinks said...

Hey I'm making you think. You don't have to agree, that's ok. I think we're making progress gang.

Anonymous said...

In what direction that progress is going?

Spinks said...

We're talking. that's more than I can say for the CBC Union and CBC Management. LOL

Anonymous said...

You are doing the talking and boring rest of us to death. Your monologue is very sensless to say the least.

Spinks said...

Move along then my friend. You have free will.
