Mini-Me continues to threaten NBers. He is good at it especially if you cannot fight back.

Man there's some wishful thinking from the top dog!!
He tries to blackmail the federal government for refubishment
Then holds out on the kids to get more money toward repairs of the existing plant.
And tops it by doing a complete about face??and says with a BIG smile at that??? If all goes well we'll have another one???
Man this guy is just too unbelievable

He must sleep on a very hard floor to come up with this stuff!!!!

Many of you know Bernard Lord quite well. Only he does not know because his spin doctors will not let him. He will not change. He has done too much harm. Only alternative, he must go.

The headline in the telegraph journal read: A powerful reception!! But a couple hundred very high payed employees of the nuclear power plant are not the whole province.
I'm sure at their wages they were indeed happy!!
I doubt that this is enough votes to take him over the top in the next election though.

Keep trying to fool them Bernie!

To be fair, if I worked around radiation all day, I'd want to be paid well too. I don't think it's fair to be upset at people because they have jobs at Lepreau.

Not upset at people who work at lepreau they certainly as you say earn every dollar as their life expectancy is probably shorter than ours.
I was making the point about the headline that not all N.B.ers were and or are pleased with Mr.Lord
The title makes it sound like there was a big party because his presents.

It is easy to make announcement for a second nuclear plant. Has anyone done environment impact assessment. It could be a disaster as there is limited environmental capacity to store spent nuclear fuel or whatever the waste material is. Bernie may succeed to nuke NB after all.

What is wrong with you? Do you know anything about Nuclear Power at all? The life expectancy for workers is not less then it would be for you or I. Of course they are not exposed to massive amounts of radiation!

Secondly, I would much rather want to deal with nuclear waist, instead of having to worry about the environmental impacts of other energy sources. Do you really think it is better to use petroleum orimuslion, or hydroelectric dams? Doesn’t burning petroleum sound like such a great idea? Sure you can scrub out and make less dangerous (environmentally) many of the combustion products, but there are still emissions. Also, petroleum is not a sustainable resource. Hydroelectric dams have very serious effects on ecosystems, which are not worth accepting with such superior alternatives as nuclear power. It would be nice to imagine getting energy from wind, or using photovoltaic cells, but these methods are not as practical as nuclear power in Canada right now. Canada has very handsome nuclear technology with our Deuterium Reactors, as well as a great supply of uranium. Using nuclear power until solar cells are made with plastic and C60 (which will be drastically less expensive than the silicon ones we use now) is by far the best source of energy. Nuclear power plants have no environmental impact (unless something goes wrong), but seriously, the risk is very small. Our major concern would be high(er) tritium levels in the coolant heavy water. But this is nothing to worry about, as everything is monitored very closely. It seriously would be best to worry about the fission products later, than to not have a later, because we have killed our earth with barbaric, stupid, decisions. 95 % of the spent nuclear fuel can be recycled, and Canada has repositories where we store this spent nuclear fuel until we need to use it.

I think you should be more concerned with the uranium and thorium concentrations in fly ash, the byproduct of coal orimulsion, or radium and radon in petroleum processing plants (especially the propane fraction), as these account for more radiation then nuclear power plants.

Get your facts straight.
