In other words Bernie may not receive the welcome that he thinks he will. Also he wants to promote himself as the next leader of Conservative Party of Canada. Fat chance.
The Acadians of New Brunswick are smarter then the English people because we have evolved into being bilingual. The English were too stupid to evolve into being bilingual. We had to settle for low paying jobs for a long time. We had to learn to read, write and speak two languages. We did and now we have a better chance in landing good and beter paying jobs then you English only speaking people. Now we are more qualified for jobs than those English only speaking people and they dont like it one bit. If you English only speaking people are not happy about it then leave the province and go live elsewhere. You didn’t want to learn French and got left behind so its your fault. There are classes you can take to learn French. The choice is there for you. Get with the times or get left behind. If you would learn french then next time someone comes up to you and ask you a simple question in fernch you wont have a stupid look on your face and answer Duhhh ....I dont speak french
Should there not be some accomodation as more than half of the province is still English? Does that not cause anger and frustrations? There should be jobs for French only and English only. That will be fair way to do things.
We did not become a bilingual province yesterday. You have had plenty of time to learn the french language. If you place of employment changed there system to computers then you had the choice to learn computers or go find work elswhere. Its as simple as this: Get with the times or get left behind.

Bottom line is that regardless of whether someone is or isn't bilingual the point is moot because it is still for the most part only Term positions being offered by both government and the private sector.
As for English speaking packing up and leaving the province, that has already happened, because they can go anywhere west of Quebec and secure Full-Time employment in many cases because they can speak English. French seems only to be a priority in NB and QC.
Obviously Bernard Lord's P.C. does not think that the Acadian population of NB is qualified enough for some jobs in the Prvincial Legislature sine as Charles pointed out quite a few key personnel have been hired from Quebec.
The French people have been degraded and made fun of and were called names etc for decades by the English people. They had to settle for inferior jobs and lower pay. Now that the table has been turned and the English people that cant speak French have to take inferior jobs and lower pay they don’t like it. N.B. is now a bilingual province and its not like it happened yesterday. The English people have had plenty of time to get educated and become bilingual. I as a employer will only hire bilingual employees as they can serve the customers a lot better then a French only or English only speaking employee. And I am not the only employer that thinks like I do. The English only speaking citizens of N.B. better get on the ball and learn French or they will get left behind.
Like I said the French by and large hate the English and view today's situation as payback for something from 250 years ago. You proved it with that outlandish statment. I hope every French person isn't like you.

Hey the "square heads" started complaining that the French were getting all the good jobs. The fact of the mater is that if 2 persons that have the same skills but one of them speaks 2 language a employer will hire the one that can communicate in 2 language before the other. Whether you like it or not that’s the way it is in 2005. If you don’t like it then go take a course and learn to be bilingual. Because it will only get worst.

They dont speak real french.
