Knives may be out from Bernie’s own party. He may not survive until next election. He said Saint John win did not matter as he already had majority but he committed $50M to win the election and he and his MLAs spent most of the time in Saint John during the campaign. This might be the last nail in is political coffin.

The nail on the coffin was when he realized his star, Hooton, hoodwinked him! That's why he had to do damage control & was there all of the time.

Beware! Hooton plans to run in the next election. When asked by CBC reporters about future provincial politics, Hooton smiled & told CBC reporters two years!

YIKES!! Is she for real? Hooton believes & maintains her campaign was a positive one all the way & that it was media pressure to have her come forth 2 weeks prior to the election on what her platform was. She said the people of Saint John knew what her platform was & that she went door to door to ALL the houses in the riding.

Who cares about Saint John, people like myself who live here in Moncton are currently getting all of the Goodies, both from the Federal Level, and from the Provincial Level of Government as well.

Why should Saint John otherwise know as The Land Down under by we Monctonians, get anything at all ?

It's a simple classic of City vs City. As long as we keep on getting the Goodies, who cares about the Dirty, Polluted, City of Saint John.

Does Saint John still have an airport, Train Station, or are the people still using the Pony Express Stage Coach Company ?

I also think Irving did the right thing as well by closing down the Dry-Dock.

And we here in Moncton are glad that Saint John got stuck with the LNG Terminal. Better Saint John than us.

We have better weather in the summer, for those who like snow and snow related sport's, get plenty of it in the winter.

It doesn't smell like rotten egg's here in Moncton all the time, like it does in Stinky Saint John.

I heard one time, when they started paving the roads years ago in Saint John, the Paving Truck followed a Drunken Snake around the city, and laid the pavement where-ever the Snake slithered along.

Fredericton is a Dirty City as well. Did the Rolling Stones Play Saint John or Fredericton, " Helloooooooo NO WAY "

Moncton is the Hub City of Atlantic Canada. But I do feel sorry for those of you stuck in Saint John. Rothesay and the outlying area's are Ok I guess.

So Bernard Lord is indeed correct, who Needs the Saint John Harbour Riding ? I will never be missed.

You sound like Bernard Lord. Too bitter for losig byelection.

No, actually it sounds more like somebody playing devils advocate. Moncton is the ugliest city in the maritimes, the petitcodiac is a long running terd of a river. Only one part of Saint John is ugly, and no parts of Fredericton are ugly, so clearly the above poster has never even left Moncton.

However, he is right, Monkeytown was going down the drain when the railway closed, the province and feds poured money into it to keep in alive and now it is economically better off than other cities, and in the process created a population of snotty malcontents whose motto is 'all for us, none for anybody else'. They sit around praising their city hall and pretending it was their own hard work that built up the city, when it was charity-the same charity they now deny everybody else.

Did anyone hear Hooton's interview with CHSJ after hearing about her defeat?? She didn't know how they could have lost as they had such a positive campaign. Wake up & smell the roses Mrs. Hooton! Obviously the voters were right not to vote for you! At least Lord made a statement while you said nothing!

"I don't know what happened," said Elsie Wayne, the former Conservative MP for Saint John. "We had an opportunity to send a strong message to Fredericton and have a strong voice in cabinet, but I don't know what happened."

Must be a PC thing to say "I don't know what happened" Could we get Mrs. Hooton's crystal ball to see what the problem is??

Defeat is never easy but to say you don't know just goes to show how arrogant you are not to realize that there were weaknesses in your party's platform. As positive as the PC party thought they were there's always going to be some negative things come out.

Hmmmmmmm, lets see, I can think of a few things like: meeting the students from political science at UNBSJ incident, blaming the media for undue pressure, oh yeah that LNG deal that still haunts Hooton, favoring party supporters whose income is at least $75,000, not knowing what your party stands for, what's your platform for this election (only to divulge that after the media hounded Hooton), Hooton did not resign as deputy mayor and Desserud said that may have made her a double target for disgruntled voters & the list continues. But no, Mrs. Hooton can't think what it could have been to go so terribly wrong!

Ok Dorothy, click those red shoes......

I know where Hooton went wrong. When Lord ran for the leadership of Tory party he gave free beer and pizzas to the students of University of Moncton and got their votes which tipped the balance his favour. Isntead Hooton got upset with students. Few beers and pizzas would have done better job. Why did she not ask Bernie for advice on that?

Even if the Pope ran in that riding and once voters found out that he was Lord Tory then he will lose. That is how much credibility Bernie has.

Saint John is better off not having Hooton in some kind of power in Fredericton they would of had to enlarge the doorways to let her inflated head in and Lord's voice would of repeated "Mr. Speaker Mr.Speaker Saint John people love us". Happy to say Saint John people have character and knew what brainwashing was because we have been controlled by the media, all Irving papers, all TV channels and some radio channels. We still have one radio channel CFBC and we can call and voice our opinion and get the message out and be heard. Lord has not understood the people of the area in Saint John and still doesnot. I am a resident but not in the riding but felt compelled to do what I could to inform people of the issues and that is when I volunteered.
People are still passive in this area and I must say for some it is understandable but for others who are financially better off or their situations in life is great for them they turned their backs on their neighbours. Premier Lord, and his GET A LONG GANG, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and some Councillors have not been transparent just a PC click who will do anything to give certain people the power over our City.
--It is never too late to revisit the LNG tax deal-- a new project that could be headed by Hooton and Court will certainly be thankful for the help, because no one else wants to get the tax dollars for our city. Wish they could be honest our City is on the move alright they have been pushing so many things under the carpet that the building is lifting. Balanced Budget means different things to different people. Audit them because they can't be trusted.

Hooton won't revisit the LNG deal. She told people she was afraid of the Irving's & afraid of the Mayor. What Hooton's afraid of is she'll be blacklisted from any elitist clubs so don't bank on her doing any work for the "city she loves".

Why would anyone call an election?? There are 2 more years on the mandate. Frank Branch may have to step down so this is not over yet. But to think of Shawn Graham as Premier is a joke. Even Paul Martin and Andy Scott know that why do you think they never give him the time of day. But to call an election would be a joke, just like Shawn Graham and the Liberal party is. And you can say sore loser all you want but the last time i checked the Lord government was still on the right hand side of the speaker

Anonymous said...

It won't be long when Lord government will be out of the site of speaker. 87 all over again. This time Tories will go into oblivision for much longer time.

Spoken by a true power hungry liberal. The only difference is that N.B. knows that you guys are hungry for power and they do not want you back in power. I will make sure that you never get in again in my riding and make sure that your records are stated throughout the province.

Anonymous said...

10:26 that is a very bold and stand-up comment but like bernard lord it has no substance. using anonymous to make such a bold statement shows the weakness in your sincerity to your riding or your party choice.

Anonymous said...

10:46 I don't have to give my name to anybody. But rest assure that there will be no Liberal in my riding come 2007. I will work so hard to make sure. The liberals are a laughing stock of Canada and soon will be in N.B.,once we find out who was taking the federal money it will be all over our newspapers. Can you imagine Shawn Graham Premier??? what a sorry day that will be for N.B.. Teach him to say Nu-CL-ear first then it will all come togethor.Mike Murphy will take over the leadership anyways he is much smarter and intelligent then Shawn Graham.

Who is going to be take the leadership of Tory party because Lord is surely screwed? Nothing he can do which will please NBers anymore. He is way passed that mark.

Will it be Brenda Fowlie or Tony Huntjens. Some scary.
