Bernie will get us a deal the same way he did on Point Lepreau. He started making threats and that was the end of that. He cannot get along with anyone.

How about some pictures of the LIBERALS screwing over the maritimes. They've been inflicting far more damage than Lord and for far longer.

If we had a competent leader in NB Conservatives would have had landslide win here. But with Bernie they stand no chance and Harper is not much asset either. That is where the problem is.

2:16 - you're visiting the wrong site. Charles Liberal leanings are well documented. I don't think you'll see a whole lot slamming the Liberals here. Smalldeadanimals.com has more what you're looking for.

I am not a fan of Liberals but at least it is a national party. Not like Conservatives which is a regional western party like Bloc which is a Quebec party. Even Green is more national than these other two.

Actually that's not true at all, conservatives have nominees in EVERY riding, which makes them national-because they don't win isn't their fault. If the argument is that they don't get seats then of course the liberals AREN"T a national party either, they are an EASTERN party, in fact you could simply say they are an ONTARIO party.

Liberal had MPs from every provine in the last Parliament. That was not the case with Conservatives. They had none from Quebec, PEI, Newfoundland and if I am not mistaken from Nova Scotia. So that makes it regional party. Harper, unfortunately for him, can never win a seat in Quebec. May be Peter MacKay will do better as a leader. Bernard Lord is a lost cause.

Um, you are mistaken. Peter McKay is from Nova Scotias as are a few other MP's. Get into semantics all you wish but the Conservatives are a national party just as the Liberals, NDP and Green are. Only the Bloc is a regional party.

You are right. They have Peter Mackay from Nova Scotia. How could I forget that. But Harper does have a problem. He is seen as a regional leader mainly Alberta and west. His chances of forming a government are next to nil. Peter MacKay is better liked but he has the baggage of breaking his promise not to join Harper's party.

MacKay's biggest problem is that he isn't bilingual. Yet it's silly to say that a party isn't national because they don't win, if thats the case then the NDP certainly isn't national and the Greens are, well, not a party at all. However, conservatives got far more votes in Quebec than the NDP. So the argument simply comes down to saying "at least the liberals won a seat in every province", which is hardly a reason to vote for a party, if that were the case then we'd ALWAYS have a one party government.

The conservatives always come in a close second, so with the Gomery thing there is certainly no reason to think their chances are nil. People can only guess how others are going to vote and it's quite a bit of hubris to think that others will vote along the lines of oneself. In fact there are several new organizations set up to get people to spoil their ballots or not vote in order to force the government to change our hideous electoral system. Go check out the video at www.fairvote.ca (although they aren't the ones promoting not voting)

However, more people spoiled their ballots in the last election than there are voters in New Brunswick.

7:44 I do not differ with your argument but Harper cannot shake off Reform roots and that is going to hurt him. In Atlantic Canada his remarks "defeatist mentality" stuck. In Quebec he has no chance to win any seat. In Ontario NDP may do well but people are leery of Harper especially the business of privatizing health care. Harper does have lot of baggage even more so than Liberals do on sponsorship scandal. My prediction Liberal minority again, they may even squeeze in a majority

over 12 years in power breeds corruption as we have seen & continue to see with the quebec/liberals.

one of the many reasons i'll be voting for stephen harper & the conservative party.

time for change bottom line.

merry christmas ! :-)

Harper does not provide any viable alternative. So still undecided.
