charlie this is nothing new,Bar owners have been moving these mini banks a few feet closer to the vlts for the last year or so.it is just another way of coaching the money out of your savings because these business owners know that some players realize they have a problem with control on how much they want to put in them to play so they only bring a small amount with them but once they loose that and they've got the bug to keep playing going to those machines to get a little more then becomes their reality.
Roly McIntyre has brought this problem up more than once in the Legeslature beginning back in January of this year when Tim Smith went to Fredericton on the issue of vlts but like anything else to do with this issue,it was just ignored.
Hope the New Brunswick Government is paying attention on how to help it's people.

Nova Scotia plans changes to VLT system
The Canadian Press
HALIFAX - Changes meant to reduce the potentially harmful lure of video lottery terminals are coming next month as part of Nova Scotia's gaming strategy.
Technicians will adjust every VLT in the province to slow down the machines by 30 per cent, and the "stop buttons" will be removed.
These moves are among new and changed government regulations and policies coming in January.
The VLT adjustments follow other steps in the gaming strategy taken earlier this year. On July 1, the machines started being shut down for the night at midnight, and in November, 800 VLTs were removed from for-profit locations.
The Nova Scotia Gaming Corp. expects changing the speed of play and removing the stop feature will encourage more responsible play. Being able to stop the game gives players the illusion they can control the outcome, although this outcome is completely random.
The guy who runs the bar was upset at me because I took the picture. He told me that he'll check my blog and if the picture is on the blog site? He'll sue me. Hey? I'm not mentioning the bar. What I didn't like was the washroom was across a hallway in a mall and if someone wanted something to eat? They had to go upstairs. It's not a bar. It's a casino. One of these days? that little camera is going to get me shot!!!!...lol
Charlie he can't do a single thing about it. He doesn't own it,they rent them. It's the same as the vlts they are public domane so on that note click away!!

Charlie:
Why don't they just combine Debit Machines and VLTs together and then Bernie can collect the debit charges too!
Just kidding.
