The only reason that Martin came to Fredericton is because he knows that his party members are in major trouble and he is trying take a hose and spray water to wash off the stain of dirt from His Parties Image. He knows that the reign of the Liberal party very well might come crashing down around him and his cabnet so he is coming to plead for another chance and to try to cast blame on others for the Problems of his own difficulties. I am not partizan but I believe that it is time that the Martin liberals and Andy Scott were out of power because another term with these Reprobates in power will leave a Traditional Canada unrecognizable to the rest of the World.

Don't be too hasty boys easy on that "Political Pie" you could upset your stomach if you eat too much!

Hop on over to the aliant.net and play the piece that says: ATV News - Campaign controversies swirling around Conservatives.

Be careful how things can be percieved in the eye of the observer.

I don't think this has much clout Charlie as we were both there last night.

I think you could have wrote a least a couple of lines stating your case for the title of this blog.

I listened to the many complaints from last night and I got a much different outlook than you on what was upsetting.

It was because the Liberals weren't quite sure of the crowd size that would come out and give them support so they held a rally at a somewhat small venue.

But when all was said and done, it turned out that support was above and beyond the expectations and no one was prepared.

So because of the size of the main speech room that was available over 60% of the 700 or so people who had traveled from all over the province to see and be a part of this rally did not get to hear any part of Mr. Martin's Speech as there were no speakers to the adjoining rooms.

Other than that I did not see or hear any negativity or ill feelings toward the liberal party itself but were only upset over the size of the meeting spot.

After all as small as it was and as crowed as it was I got what I expected from my trip.

#1-To me I was happy to see such a large crowd and from many different ridings.

#2-Mr.Martim stopped and shook my daughter's hand with an exchange of big smiles between them.

#3-Mr.Zed did well in his end of the day speech as well.
So all was not lost and we're looking good here in New Brunswick under the Liberal Banner.

haha they even had to drag paul zed up there?!. hes nothing to be showing off.

"700 or so people" from a liberal supporter so maybe 500 in reality.

reportes from ctv & cbc etc all report "record crowds" at every stephen harper conservative rally & announcement the likes of which "havent been seen in many years". allways in the 1500+ range. now thats support.

bottom line is its time for change & not more corruption.

on monday please vote based on 'facts' & NOT 'fiction'

TY. :-)

1500 from a tory supporter, since most of them can't count that would be about 100. I was AT a tory meeting with Harper and THREE tory candidates and there was nowhere NEAR 1500 people. And the candidates all left before talking:

The Canadian Press
(Kitchener, Ontario) Hidden agenda? It's more a case of hidden candidates.

Harold Albrecht, a Conservative hopeful known for his views against gay marriage, was hustled away from reporters and into a banquet-hall kitchen Thursday where handlers refused to bring him out.

``He's in a meeting,'' a Tory official insisted, pushing a swing-door closed as Albrecht stood next to empty dish racks in the kitchen.

The former pastor of the local Pathway Community Church resigned the position last fall after deciding to run in the southwestern Ontario riding of Kitchener-Conestoga.

Albrecht has been in the news for several letters decrying same-sex marriage that he wrote to the Kitchener-Waterloo Record.

``Nature alone points to the ridiculous `wisdom' of calling these relationships marriage,'' he said in 2003.

Such partnerships, if allowed to proliferate, ``would succeed in wiping out an entire society in just one generation,'' he added - a reference to the fact gay couples can't biologically procreate.

Albrecht has recently focused his comments to local media on his party's plans for a Federal Accountability Act, tax cuts, child care and shorter wait times for medical treatment.

Conservative campaign co-chairman John Reynolds shrugged off any suggestion that outspoken candidates are being muzzled.

``That's life,'' Reynolds said of Albrecht's hasty retreat.

Critics have also noted that another Tory candidate with socially conservative views, Cheryl Gallant, has been keeping a conspicuously low profile.

The Tory incumbent for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke veered wildly from the mainstream party line in 2004, much to the horror of controlling organizers.

She not only compared abortion to the beheading of an American contractor in Iraq, but also openly discussed how several Tories would like to roll back gay rights.

Gallant did not respond to repeated requests for an interview earlier this month.

Rob Merrifield, running for re-election in the Alberta riding of Yellowhead, also landed in hot water in the last campaign for remarks he made on abortion. Recent calls to his office for an interview were not returned.

Reynolds denied that Conservatives are shielding their candidates from public scrutiny.

But Harper made it clear after his defeat to the Liberals in 2004 that he would not tolerate lax discipline in future.

He promised in an interview three months after the last campaign to be a more ``severe judge'' of those who slip up.

``You expect members, if they're going to be on the team, to be on the team,'' he said. ``Some of what happened last time can't be repeated. And it won't be repeated.'

@4:03pm-

I myself would rather take the word of reportes of the CBC & CTV then more NEO-LEFT-WING LIBERAL statments PULLED OUT OF THIN AIR & TWISTED INSIDEOUT & ALLAROUND to SCARE people with FEARS & SMEARS like you are trying to do.

so a candidate is anti same-sex marriage? what about the THIRTY+ liberals who are also?. the media dosent go after them do they because the LIBERALS have pounded this "hidden agenda" BS so far down peoples throats that the only thing they are looking for is something to add to it & its nothing more then LIBERAL SPIN at its worst.

nothing more then neo-left-wing media wanting to get anything they possably can to fear & smear with & guess what? NOBODY IS BUYING IT! :-)

what has anyone heard from paul martin this election as far as policy?,absolutly nothing but the same old broken record of fear & smear.

pretty bad when they have to bus people in from saint john to create the illusion anybody cares. LOL !

It is no fiction. Harper admitted on CBC that he is not very knowledgeable on environment, international situation and international affairs. You want this man to be your Prime Minister. Must be some loose screws to wish that on Canadians.

Who cares about same sex? This issue is about Harper telling his own nominees to keep their mouth shut. And this is a party that is always talking about how it would have 'free votes on issues' while the leader states that 'non team players will not be tolerated'.

Harold Albrecht is being told to shut up because he's one of many loony christians in the party. He isn't even protestant or catholic, he's a 'new apostolitic', a church very large within the german population of southwestern ontario who believe that they are the true 'new apostles' and only they will be saved. They have no respect for any other religions or even aspects of the christian religions, all others are just plain 'wrong'. They are a deeply evangelical movement that has taken over the states and now has its eyes on Canada.
