Reeve died late Monday of lung cancer, said Kathy Lewis, President and CEO of the foundation.

"On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and staff of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, we are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us," Lewis said in a statement.

It is time the Cancer Society and Government step and stop the Blame Game. They have always been telling us it is our fault when we get cancer. Not true! Cancer is a massive industry and money should be spent differently. Telling people the truth as to why we get cancer and begin to change the big profit makers who are very comfortable bringing the billions for treatments that cost but don't really stop cancer.

We have so many carcinogens and chemicals in all food, water, earth and air.

In Canada about 14 million kilograms of carcinogens are released into the environment every year. We accumulate toxins probably before we are born. Cancer is not an age thing.

The Canadian Cancer Society spends about 10 % of its budget on prevention. {This is largely diet and no smoking compaign.} This is not acceptable. Yes they also stress our family history; well most of us today will begin new family history. There is something wrong with the whole picture. Well meaning institutions have misspent billions targetting treatment, while ignoring strategies for preventing cancer in the first place.

It will take centuries and maybe it will not be possible to reverse what has happen to our water, food, earth and air. Stop blaming it on our genes that can only be a small percentage. Also stopping blamming the average person take a look at what big corporations have been to our air, water and soil. Oh yes don't forget the products they put out there is also killing us. Did you ever think about the toilet tissue and dedorant we use everyday? The chemicals in these products cause cancer. There must be a safer way to make the products. We apply sun screen but the chemicals in that stuff will kill you too. It is too much to take in but changes have to happen.

Our province of NB has a very high cancer rate and Saint John is right up there too.
