Juanita MacKnight 1975 -2006

Picture 041, originally uploaded by Oldmaison.

I'm taking this sad news very very hard. She was the backbone of the large amount of money collected after the Soup Kitchen got broken into.

She was a single mom with three kids!!!!

It's very very very sad.

It's stories like this one that often test a person faith.

But as my Priest always say- It's not for us to understand now but we will truly understand later.

It's a very sad story. My God...I still have tears in my eyes while doing this blog.

Life goes on I guess and Juanita has truly left her mark in Fredericton!!!!

I have been following this thread since the Kitchen was robbed, I was saddened when I heard of this young lady's injury or, possible, death. have a difficult time accepting a reason why anyone would want to harm anyone, only to say that anyone who would do such a terrible and evil deed is of their father the Devil. Thatis right, you heard me. anyone who would harm anyone unless it is in self-defence is nothing more than a filthy excuse for a human being. and a Parocite. My condolences and Prayers to the surrviving members of Juanita'MacKnight's family and especially here young children who have to grow up without their Mom. I hope that they find out who or what caused her death and either hang them or sentence them to life without any possibility of Parole.

Fred FM DJ dies

By DON MACPHERSON
dmacpher@dailygleaner.com

A popular morning DJ with a rock radio station in Fredericton has died as a result of a car accident.

Juanita MacKnight, 31, hosted programming on Fred FM from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Station manager Pat Donelan said Friday that MacKnight - who went by Juanita on the air - was crossing a street in Moncton on foot Thursday evening when she was struck by a car.

Donelan said he'd been in touch with MacKnight's father in the Moncton area, who informed him of the details of the accident.

"There was no excessive speed involved. There was no alcohol involved," he said.

In fact, MacKnight, who was from Moncton, didn't even sustain any broken bones. But a blow to the head that was inflicted when she fell ended up claiming her life at 11 a.m. Friday, Donelan said.

The tight-knit staff at Fred FM has been traumatized, he said.

"Juanita was an extremely talented young broadcaster," he said. "She had an infectious laugh that came up from her toes."

The station announced her death on the air Friday, Donelan said, and it was flooded with calls from listeners.

"She had built a very strong fan base very quickly," he said.

Most if not all of the station's employees plan to attend funeral services in Moncton, but it has not yet been scheduled, he said.

Const. Reg Robichaud of the Codiac Regional RCMP in Moncton confirmed the nature of the accident. He said it occurred at about 6:55 p.m. Thursday.

He said no charges are expected.

I never knew your lovely daughter, I can tell by her picture that she was a person that was full of life and a happy lady, she must have been a joy to know. She was a very pretty young woman. No words can express how your family is excepting the loss of your daughter and what a terrible loss. There are no words that I can say to help you through this, except be strong for her children and give them lots of love and good mermories of their mother.Time has a way of taking some of the pain away.God must have had special plans for her.My heart goes out to all of you.
