DISABLE WOMAN IS PROTESTING IN FRONT OF THE NEW BRUNSWICK LEGISLATURE!!!

STA_3505, originally uploaded by Oldmaison.

I just received an email on this one. I tried to get Minister Dube to act on this issue issue but she never called. The power rate is going up and her rent went up $75.00 to $400.00.

BUT THE WELFARE RATE DOESN'T DO UP!!!!

What's doing on around the province? That's the scary question? The Lord Government will not communicate with protesters in front of the Legislature so she may end up dying there. Who knows?

She used to make a few extra bucks panhandling but the cops force her off the streets. So what else can she do? I'll be there later on so stay tune!!!!

Lots of action in the Capital and this is only the month of May!!!!!

Why did it have to come to this? This poor lady needs help. No one seems to care. Why? She needs to be in housing, a safe place to live.I hope someone will take the time to talk to this lady and help her out.

i'm going to be very blunt.... i think the government is retarded. There's supposed to be equal rights in Canada, but is there? NO.... i think they should all get up off their high-horses and help out this woman! there's tons of people in the city of fredericton that really dont need housing and have it, so why can't a woman who obviously needs it have it??

It's a terrible shame that this woman's worst nightmare is her life. I'll be praying for her... I've met her and obviously she is in need, and a very nice woman indeed! I hope that she gets the help she needs and damned soon! She'll die out on the streets!

I agree with 9:30 a.m., a job is the answer.
Panhandlers make me smile. They say they're "disabled" yet they're up bright and early and put a lot of effort in the art of begging.
So maybe they can't do a "9 to 5"...
how about flipping burgers, cleaning the streets, or in this woman's case, stuffing envelopes or fielding phone calls.
Heck, Key Industries in Saint John is full of disabled people, all working for a living, some have Multiple Sclerosis !
So I would tell her to get off her duff and get a job.

Your prayers are fine, but how about a little action. Join her, or at least contact your MLA or the Premiers office.

Some people just don't care. Anything could happen to this lady, she has a hard time getting around, she's not in good health, anybody can see this if only they would just open their eyes.I would hate to read the news paper and find out something bad has happened to her. For heavens sake will someone from housing help her find a place to live.

The comments made by 9:53 pm simply show how out of touch him & others are on the state of the disabled. It seems that he would have the physically/mentally disabled all lumped together which ignores their individual situations. Do you really think that they enjoy living on $270/month here in Fredericton? Or $495 if they have a disability? Maybe 9:53 pm should calculate all his/her income & expenses & see how much is left. Some of the room rents are approaching that of a batchelor apartment! I wonder if the shelter is full of people who can't afford a room because they only get $270?

I agree. Before Liberals ventured into vote of non-confidence they must have looked at their numbers At least they should have tied and let Tanker Malley cost the final vote. Otherwise why bother.Very disappointing.

I'm the one who put the 9:52 comment on...
All I'm saying is, IF you Can Panhandle, then you can work. Panhandling takes time and effort.
I could go up there today and offer this woman money to answer my phones or do my filing, and I'll bet she'd turn it down !!

Bet she wouldn't turn you down. Give it a try and I'll bet you would have a good worker there. But keep in mind this lady isn't well. But she would try and work anyways. She doesn't like living the way she is either. If you got to know her, you would like her.If she doesn't take the job I will. Let me know.I'd like to know what kind of person you really are.

I WILL SAY IT AGAIN, GET THE LADY NURSING HOME CARE....IF YOU ARE THAT ILL AND CAN'T WORK, YOU HAVE THE GIVEN RIGHT TO DEMOCRACY AND M.DUBE BETTER STEP UP TO THE PLATE....CONTACT S., GRAHAM AND SEE WHERE HE STANDS ON THIS ISSUE!! IF YOU CAN FIND HIM, OR K. LAMROCK!!I BET IF YOU CALLED ABE LEBALANC, HE WOULD HAVE A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM BY NIGHTFALL!!

These politicians are too busy enjoying the high life to worry about the people whether they need help or not. The poor, working poor and the average people who work but can't make ends meet are having a rough time but who will help no one. They help the Billionaires, friends and tax us more. We can't take anymore; something has to change soon.
