While walking downtown yesterday, I noticed people gathered outside of the Justice Building.
In the past, you would see criminals being escorted from the building but this time it was a little different.
It was a young couple getting ready to be married. I must say that it's much cheaper this way I guess......

it's not cheaper. it's just that not everyone is a church-goer, and so they don't feel a need for a church ceremony. Wedding receptions are expensive, but going to a church with a suit and a dress is no more or less expensive than the courthouse.
It depends on the church. Some churches let congregants have a wedding for nothing if they know they have no money. Other churches charge a fortune.
I wonder what Father Brien charges.
ok...wise guy...i'll asks him this morning.....I presume it's nothing.....
ok..I asked the Priest and there's no charge to get married in a Catholic Church but they will accept a donation.
Is a collection plate passed around during a wedding service in a Catholic church?
Is it only free for Catholics? What about Protestants, Buddhists, Aetheists, Wiccan, Muslim and Scientoligists, etc.?
