Good. The Market makes money by charging for space - it is a company, it is private property and that's their business. It's no different than the malls where businesses lease space. If the beggars and buskers want to try to make money at the Market, they should rent a spot, just like everyone else does.

I wish people would stop picking on the poor. They are all human beings, or have we forgotten. Think if maybe you were in their shoes. How would you feel? I think everyone in this world should have a place to live and have lots of food to eat.I think this is Canada.

I have been following issue of Panhandling in the city of Fredericton now for quite a while, and I will add this statement. I do agree that it is not everyone who is being aggressive with the public, but enough of the panhandlers are being aggressive, and it is those individuals that need to be dealt with directly.

I am very pleased that the City Police are out and about and they have my full and complete support just as long as they are not harrassing the law abiding population.

I agree that people shouldn't be harrassed while they are out shopping, but even some shopper's have a heart and will give a helping hand to the poor. The ones that don't want to, don't have to. I have never seen a panhandler chase anyone down the street to get money from them.I have been approached many times and if I could I would and if I couldn't I would say I couldn't in a nice way.I think it's very sad that people have to do that to make ends meet but they have to, to make it in this world. And I'm sure they don't feel good about doing it either. Welfare should be giving more money to these people to live on. Not all these people can work because of health reasons.I know a person that worked for years and was a very respected person but had to go on welfare for health reasons. This person doesn't feel good about it but can't help it. This person is treated very badly by the welfare people and others and there's no need of it. So when you see a panhandler on the street don't be rude to that person be kind.
