I also was concerned if the talk show was returning in the fall.So I sent an e-mail to rob.alexander@mbsradio.com Here was their response.
Thank you for your e-mail regarding Talk Of The Town on CFBC. Listener feedback is very important to us so I appreicate the time you took to send us the note.I want to assure you that we have not undertaken any decision that will the show does not return after it's usual summer break.Again, thanks for your e-mail.It's great hearing from someone who is obviously a big fan of the show.

I hope they yank the show. Rick Mantle is the worst Talk Show, Talk Of The Town Ever Had.

Yuo don't have to dislike the talk show, Just put out a call to change the host.
Sounds like a simple solution to me.
I believe that Rick Mantle is a great host and he has my support...Sure is better than Rogers Television < old Germany >
Do you plan on becoming the president of his fan club ? If so, you'll only have to send out 1 or 2 e-mails.
All I ever hear him say are 4 phrases while talking.
1.YOU KNOW,
2.YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN,
3.THAT'S A GOOD THING
4.THAT'S A BAD THING
The only bad thing is him and the show itself. Rogers is the Best

anyway, Rick,is surfing the internet the whole time is is talking to callers trying to find info on what the topic is,,, oh Rick knows so much,, NOT< ,,,
someone asked him how many people listen to the show,, he says 20,000
more like 200, same 15 people every day call him,,& when they don't, He
reads the headlines
so slow to spread the time until someone calls

I love Talk of the Town but NOT Rick Mantle. Nothing personal, just not a good speaker.
When there are no callers he rambles on himself, and he pauses a lot and there are a lot of gaps in the conversation. I wrote him out this one time, he never got back to me.
There are not supposed to be any long pauses like that in radio, if someone is trying to tune in at the time of his many pauses, they would not find the station.
That happened to me on several occasions.
They need a new host big time and Talk of the Town can be good again.
Everyone was calling in on Friday congratulating him on his up-coming wedding.
Well I wish he'd go on his honeymoon and stay there.
We don't need him here, he shows little emotion and like an above comment said he is too repetitive, "YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN"?
It is quite clear to this person that all of you listen to talk of the town by your comments even if you do not like Rick.I am sure some of you are the same people who think you know how to do everything better.I think Rick has done a great job on talk of the town and i look forward to his return in September and I am sure many would agree with me unless your the Mayor of Saint John
