I might have the number wrong.
It was sad!
Their son shot himself in his early 20s after being addicted to the VLT'S! It was the death of their son that really attracted the attention of New Brunswickers about the issue of VLT'S!!!
If the Bishops reads this blog? Maybe they can leave a comment?
My sympathy to the Bishops on this sad day!

Anytime a person commits suicide, it is a sad thing.
Trying to treat all of society with kid gloves, assuming nobody can take responsibility for his or herself is also sad.
Should we ban lottery tickets, racetracks, bingo and casinos? People with addictive personalities could become addicted to any of those things. If we had a casino where 1000 people visited per day but 1 of those 1000 people had a gambling addiction, should we shut it down for the sake of the one person who has a problem? Should the hundreds of jobs and the taxdollars should be thrown away?
Should we ban alcohol? Some people can't control their drinking. Should we shut down bars and liquor stores for the few people who can't control their alcohol intake?
Where do we draw the line?
