Jacques Poitras has a blog in English.

An individual asked me - Why don’t the CBC have a blog pour la population Acadienne?

I believe it’s a good point of concern

I always invited the Acadians to write their comments en Francais if they wish to do so.

I quickly learned that the Acadian Population have dial up and I guess it’s an impossible task to see this blog.

I’m certain that Jacques Poitras would welcome comments en Francais.

So the newscast of Ce Soir should tell the Acadian population that there’s a place on the information Highway the Acadian population can voice their concerns en Francais!!!

What do you think?

Don Desserud, a political scientist at the University of New Brunswick, says Lord suffers in comparison to some of his high-profile predecessors, including Frank McKenna and the late Louis Robichaud and Richard Hatfield.

"I have never had a sense of what Bernard Lord thinks New Brunswick is all about and what kind of province it should be," Desserud says.

""He’s more interested in tinkering with the system and fixing things rather than big vision items."

You have a problem making sense desserud,What is wrong with fixing things,or you just prefer mckennas big dreams, that thankgod Lord spend a lot of time fixing,OH or the big visions of a druggie?
Who remembers robichaud?
Go vote liberal again!

thespinner: Truth hurts! You admit being spinner. You can spin as much as you want but your wonder boy Bernie (just in some people's imgagination only) is actually a goner boy.

You probably on dialup and havent got to this yet.So me and mr aliant highspeed(thanks Bernie)helping you.

The Progressive Conservatives are the top political party in New Brunswick, according to a poll by Corporate Research Associates. 45 per cent of respondents in the Canadian province would vote for the Tories in this month’s legislative ballot.

The opposition Liberal party of Shawn Graham is second with 38 per cent, followed by the New Democratic Party (NDP) of Allison Brewer with 10 per cent.

Bernard Lord has acted as New Brunswick’s premier since 1999. His Progressive Conservative party won the June 2003 election with 45 per cent of the vote, and secured 28 members in the 55-seat Legislative Assembly. 57 per cent of respondents are satisfied with the premier’s performance.

Desserud is the spinner.only liberals have to spin.
better than working.

"The Progressive Conservatives" You do not say those words in public anymore. They are dirty words, you know. Go to NB Politico. He is has a good poem for this phoney.

Don't think so.
If St.John was french, the highway, fredericton to st.john would be divided 4 lane and fenced, and irving would have to keep their property neat and mowed.
federal money would flow.

This place is like a collecting house for mental diarhea. I've never seen so many commenters completely ignoring the topic and just going off on their own unrelated tangents.

Anyway, on the subject of CBC and French language provisions. The CBC does not have a mandate to operate any services in French. This is the mandate of Radio-Canada, which operates quite seperately from the English CBC.

I love this blog, it's like a free look into the mentally unhealthy and self-unemployed in this province.

"mental diarhea" that is what Lord Tories suffer from. It was a Tory who hijacked this discussion calling himself spinner of some sort.

Isn't that funny?

you are the SPITTING image of us.

Except we spell separately seperatiliy.

And we know The CBC and radio canada work together, using the same french bilingual journalists.

Small world eh?

Check day tomorrow?

hahahahaha.,opps, sorry, not spose laugh at your kind.

Some of us here have PHD's and can spell, but actually there are usually better and smarter comments from those unschooled. During an election there are lots of people, mainly from parties, who like to post lots and tangentially, that's so that people won't take the blog seriously since it deals with such important issues.

The easy answer for Charles, since he has 'some' time, is to have two blogs. It takes about ten seconds to cut and paste. Of course there is a whole province full of people who could get off their keesters and simply cut and paste his blog and start that other french one.

CBC should figure out how to do a proper blog in English first before they try to butcher the format in French.

Mr. PHD,
Damed if I can follow you, though I commend you on recognizing the astuteness of the lesser educated people. We,er,They don't miss much.

Anyhow I just wanted to know ,is "some time" the same as ,some time,,and
the other thing is,when you cut and paste from english, does it turn into french,on a french blog.
I just love computers, and the things they can do,,OUCH,SIT DOWN.
Oh yuh,"tangentially"like some people don;t know that word, maybe explain it.tanks

Clearly its not the above poster with much brains. Yes, it's called 'babel fish' or any of a number of other translation softwares. And uh, most acadians can also speak english, when you learn to read you'll notice the problem was a lack of high speed internet, which means a separate blog just wouldn't have the pictures, so the people on dial up could access it and reply in whatever language they wanted to.

Duhhh

Are you a MD or PHD ?

Do you know everything about brains or facts or as I begining to see, nothing.

"uh, most acadians can also speak english"

Where did you get this ridiculous Info ?
I think you were right in your first blat,That most people know more than you.

I like the facts, just the facts.

The Government of Canada provided up to $16.5 million for this
infrastructure project, with the Government of New Brunswick investing
$12.5 million and Aliant $15.6 million. Installation and upgrades of broadband
equipment extended coverage to 327 communities throughout rural New Brunswick

To the one poster above who logs on with three different names, what difference does it make whether hotels in Moncton have high speed or not? Do you honestly think people living in Acadie Siding are getting up in the morning and driving to Moncton to stay in the super 8 so they can get highspeed internet? Refer to the above points about intelligence.

Just because highspeed internet is extended to an area means nothing. It certainly isn't free. If you want to go calling all those acadians (most of whom do speak english, go check the last census) and tell them to smarten up and fork over the forty bucks a month for high speed go ahead, the point is that they don't.

New Brunswick has the lowest internet usage in the country, and the lowest percentage with high speed accounts, chew on that fact. You can email charles and he can show you the stats of how many accounts stopped accessing his site once he put high resolution pictures on it.

As for babel fish, perhaps getting onto your meds and finishing your sentences will enable people to reply to them.

Does Charles give out phds,hoho

You tell the Acadians "to smarten up",I will speak to people with respect, untill they give me reason not to.

Now to try help you Mr.(high resolution phoney),
just go to your tools menu and you can turn "OFF" great big high resolution pictures.hohohoho.
Is the helium all leaked out.
You don't know helium??
And another thing, the acadians know how to make money, very well,
Come out of your 1940's mindset.
