Well, there is 'sort of' a provincial conservative party. They aren't technically the same, but Lord has been definitely moving in that direction.
This is an important issue because of the new accountability act. There are no rules for provinces, just the feds, so as we saw with the Lord dinner that Harper showed up for, the party has a vested interest in aligning itself.
Of course the liberals are already the same party, but I don't remember any federal liberals coming for a visit either, so its not a big surprise.
