I wrote a letter to the editor 15 years ago suggesting that the foorest companies should pay for the fencing.

More they clear-cut the more money they pay towards a fence.

A little more then grand bay area.
Liberal never cared about life of citizens.

New Brunswick Liberal Leader Shawn Graham says his party would put up 300 kilometres of highway fencing to help prevent vehicle collisions with wildlife, especially moose.

Graham said on Monday that fences would be put up within two years if the party wins the next election.

The fences would be in areas with a high moose accident rate.

Graham anticipates the project would have a price tag of upwards of $21 million, but he said it would be money well-spent.

"Any accident that is prevented and any life that is saved is taxpayers' dollars worth investing in," he said. "It's an investment in safety and security."

Transportation Minister Paul Robichaud has acknowledged that more fencing is required and said he'll announce a full policy next month.

There are more than 250 moose-vehicle collisions on New Brunswick highways every year.

“There are many compelling reasons why these wildlife fences are needed,” Mr. Graham stated. “Studies by the Department of Transportation show that wildlife fencing is an effective way to reduce the number of collisions. By reducing the number of moose – vehicle collisions, we will save lives, prevent injuries and avoid the costs associated with vehicle damage, health care and rehabilitation. Safe highways are a necessity, not a luxury.”

But Graham has to wait till a liberal run fence company gets going. THATS the "necessity"

What delay? He's been premier three days! And he promised the fencing within two years! And the budget for this year was already passed!

Sure, I'd like the fencing right now: I won't drive highway 7 after dark. But geez, we could be a little realistic...

When you get the phone call,"your family member is dead",Is that realistic enough?
Remember the last liberallowlife, always going to do something about the killer highway, but it was Lord who got us the beautiful safe highway.
