Charles you are not a reporter. Yesterday you were on TV saying that you are a reporter. Well I can tell you that I have a family member that is a reporter in Ontario and he went to University to study to become a reporter. I think it is totally unfair and a major insult to people who are professionals that study for many years to be compared to you.

You just look for attention. Everything has to be about you. Reporters are suppose to report stories not write about things that only interests them and make it an issue only about them.

Seriously, you need to stop saying you are a reporter because you are not, you are just a person who has a website and writes only about himself.

This is GREAT news. Hopefully the rest of the world can become aware of just how "sick" the city of Saint John has become. The Mayor is probably the MOST corrupt mayor this city has ever had. The police are harrassing anybody that is outspoken against Irving. Case in point, Charles' arrest and the harrassment and monitoring of invididuals attending fundraisers for the Friends of Rockwood Park. The NB newspapers defaming anybody that is anti-Irving.

Thank Goodness CBC caught your arrest on video otherwise the justice system may not have prevailed. Clearly, the police in Saint John are not obligated to tell the truth under oath.

Well Sgt Parks be reprimanded or charged with perjury??

How is the mayor corrupt? He makes decisions for the city - just because you don't like them doesn't make them corrupt.

Wrong isn't always corrupt.

Ah, the NY Times, probably the only media more biased than CBC in North America. Their take should be...interesting.

BTW, Charles can call himself a reporter if he wants 12:26. He IS a reporter for his blog. To be a reporter you don't have to go to school or join any professional organization. As long as you have a medium, you can be a reporter. Charles is the Old Maison blog reporter.

One has to take journalism schools with a grain of salt. I've seen a lot of grads coming out of them that just can't string two sentences together and expect to be working for the Globe & Mail the next day. They give you enough of a step up to get a first job and keep yourself out of trouble, but after that the onus is on the reporter to teach themselves and do what they can to keep working.

Charles might be a bit short in the grammar and spelling department, but he has the pitbull attitude that J-schools try to teach only to usually fail. It's no wonder he's often "scooping" the papers on stories.

He is also writing in a different format. There are no rules for blogs and in cyberspace editorializing goes hand in hand with "just the facts" reporting. If New Brunswick was better served by traditional media, maybe people wouldn't be holding Charles so responsible to provide the same journalistic standards that other entities are paid to do. On a related note, he's also one of the only sources of information (good enough for the SJ police it seems) that has info refreshed at nearly any time of the day. The internet is 24-7 but even the news websites (CBC included) are 9-5 at the provincial level.

Hey, C. Leblanc,

Don be worry about de anonymouse who say you are not professional reporter.

In the MSM today, many reporter are full of BS and the newspapers are losing those readers because of the *professional* spin. . BS.

Be proud to be a *Blogger*.

So you did OK C. LeBlanc. You have a cause and you your cause out there.

I lived three years in Moncton in the 60s. Moncton and Shediac Beach. A great place in Canada.

Lots of LeBlanc and Cormiere there and all with a sense of humour.

Ooops, I lost my accent. Guess I was just kidding you guys.

Just another moodie englais living in B.C. for now. = TG

PS: The Canadian Sentinel is a fun New Brunswick blogsite, but not for Liberals.

Hey, Yo, Anonymouse,

Blogsite, not Website. And relating your personal experience is the idea on a Blogsite.

That*s why they are sweeping the country.

Nothing more interesting than what happens to the individual Canadian.

Anything interesting ever happen to you? And drop the Anonymouse.

Stand up and be a person. Call yourself *Chicken Balls* or something.

Boy I*m hot today.

Just kidding, I never call anyone names really. It*s just a way to admit you lost an argument. = TG

Charles!

I hope you scan a copy for your blog so I can read it.

Ignore the first poster -- everybody is a reporter. We were taught to report from birth. Its called sociability.

I think there is a point to calling yourself a blogger and not a reporter. A reporter, for better or worse, is expected to subscribe to certain criteria. They work for employers, but also have associations that watch their conduct.

Charles calls himself a 'blogger', that shouldn't change. Although anybody that says 'its all about him' is clearly lying and doesn't read his blog often, Charles lives in that 'half way world' between journalism and activism. He is not objective, doesn't try to be, but unlike most blogs he isn't just regurgitating news from other sources and commenting on them, he DOES 'report' the news-like the fire in Saint John.

So it is a fine line, Charles could easily be a 'reporter' if he made a few modifications, like not harassing people and calling them names. But a reporter reports, and plenty of times Charles isn't doing that.

More importantly, CALLING himself a blogger will just make people think he's high on himself, and really, what difference does it make. Charles always called himself a blogger and an activist, hopefully that won't change.

Wrong IS corrupt if major decisions are made during closed door meetings, late at night during the witching hour when the public cannot attend and is not invited to attend. That is what makes it corrupt.

Corrupt is when you can be harrassed and arrested by the police simply because your are outspoken against a particular company.

Anonymous 12:26 pm: I didn't realize all reporters needed a university education. Guess that makes Steve Murphy (ATV/CTV News anchor) a what, exactly??? After all, *he* doesn't have a university education.

Charles is more of a reporter than many. He has the REAL stories. Any wonder why there are so many hits on this site? It has stuff the CBC or any other media outlet wouldn't DARE publish. Maybe they should pay attention and remember what they really should be doing.
