FREDERICTON (CP) — The former Tory premier of New Brunswick will give a speech at a party meeting on Saturday, but party officials are sending mixed signals on whether Bernard Lord will say if he’s stepping down.
Jennifer Thompson, the party’s executive director, said the Oromocto meeting of the party’s council isn’t the likely venue for such an announcement, despite Lord’s Sept. 18 election defeat.
Lisa Keenan, past president of the Tories, said the overwhelming majority of Conservatives still support Lord but would also understand if he stepped aside.
"I’m sure (Lord) will be giving a full indication of what his plans are," Keenan said.

Why wouldn't he? If you are going to post things, would you please give more information than a vague headline?
