ORILLIA, Ont. (CP) - A young man whose remains were found in a rural area north of Toronto in 1968 has finally been identified as as Richard "Dickie" Hovey of Fredericton, New Brunswick.

That's just sad. Someone's feeding your mistaken belief that you're a real journalist.

Charles is a real journalist for THIS blog. Biased? Oh yeah but that still doesn't mean he's not a journalist. You need no credentials to be a journalist. That's why it's called a free press. The day you say you are one, you are.

All you have to do is keep showing up for press conferences and see what happens Charles. You've got the tags, which are worth as much as Irvings. Just make sure you remember the responsibility that goes with being 'press'. You have to be even more responsible because people are always throwing stones (like the poster above). Tell Graham that until he clears you he should hold his press conferences in the Beaverbrook, er, Crowne. Now that you've got credentials, try to swing an interview with an MLA, then we'll really know you're a journalist.

A journalist has to present both sides of a story and show impartiality, stuff Charles doesn't do.

Better
Rather than wearing the fake CBC credential they made you, get them to give you the real McCoy and put you on the pay roll; Th're getting a free ride off of you !

If I laminate a fake ID for myself, does that officially change my age? Of course not.

To the person who made up this toy for Charles to play with: nice spelling mistake in the text on the back.

I believe that line would say that I was joking.

The individual who made this media pass was just making a joke.

But the individual made it clear that the next instance I’m somewhere where the action is? At least the cops would know that I’m a blogger.

Now? Moi a journalist?

Never!!!!

A journalist report the news or investigate issues.

Now? Maybe I could be called a Columnist??? I report stories with a opinion.

One thing is certain, once I apply for a true media pass?

Well? From all the private emails I have received because of this little blog.

This tells me a lot of people are watching my issue very closely.

That definition of journalism is untrue, unless its admitted that Irvings employees at the papers aren't journalist's either. Consider the following article:

Grits ponder POWER PLAY

Daniel McHardie
Telegraph-Journal
Published 2006-12-19 | Page A1

The Liberal government must make the tough decisions facing NB Power's corporate structure that were ignored by the previous Conservative administration, according to one energy analyst.

Premier Shawn Graham is considering reversing the former Conservative government's $10-million restructuring of NB Power that unbundled it into five separate corporations. Energy Minister Jack Keir called the result the "worst possible situation with NB Power right now."

The energy minister said the corporation is set up to operate like a profitable company, however decisions made by the previous government have left it being heavily subsidized by taxpayers.

"I would certainly like to see it on the right hand side of the spectrum, certainly if not profit-driven at least on a break-even basis because right now it is not even breaking even," he said.

The Liberals will focus their debate on whether all taxpayers should subsidize lower electricity through government funding to the utility or whether ratepayers should fork over the true cost of power with the province stepping up to help low-income families or businesses going through difficult periods.

"I don't think NB Power should be set up to be subsidized by the taxpayers of New Brunswick," he said.

From his office in Toronto, Energy Probe's Adams said there is no magic bullet for the government or any of NB Power's customers.

"That second approach of having the government directly administer social benefits and the power system running on a business-like basis is a much better approach than trying to direct subsidies through the power system," he said.

"When you do it through the power system you end up subsidizing a lot of people who don't need subsidies."

That is blatantly one sided and is a front page story on the Telegraph Journal. Notice that they don't talk to a SINGLE person with the opposing viewpoint. I don't care whether people agree or not, that isn't the point.

To have both sides of the story they should talk to others with opposing views than this guy sitting in Toronto. It's not like they can't be found, in fact its because of the massive protests of people that this was shelved by Lord, just like it was in Ontario.

Of course the Irvings WANT to get rid of subsidies for power, because they provide much of it, and will no doubt be providing more in the future. They also benefit because much of their new refinery will use natural gas, which has already been subsidized by taxpayers and now will benefit them more directly.

So Irving's view is clear. And this article proves that Irving papers employ people who are no more 'journalists' than Charles is.

And at least on a blog people can post opposing views, which means that even if Charles is not 'objective' and stating both sides, the site is far more objective than Irvings, who do not allow such objectivity.

I am proud of you Charles saying that you are not a journalist becaue you are not.

A columnist??? That is better, I would say yes you are an amature columnist.

Isn't that hat from the organizers of the atlantica event in Saint John?

Blogger Charles LeBlanc said...

That's the hat and I'll take the comment back about me not being a Journalist.

Often I report news without an opinion so therefore that would make me a journalist.

There you go again pretending you are something that you are not. I was actually proud that you called yourself a columnist and now you take that back? Now I am back at thinking you are just a want to be journalist. And by the way 99% of your postings are biast so that 1% doesn't make you a journalist.
