charlie i know you mean well but showing this poor guy all the time in his desperate state is alot like making fun of him. please stop doing that. he is obviously down and out. give him a smoke. buy him a meal. that is nice. i know you are good to this individual. but do not exploit him on you sight please. it makes you look bad.
I hardly think showing the poor is exploiting them, somebody may think he's 'picking' on this guy, but this guy is a well known figure in Fredericton. Part of my hope is that more people will see the pictures and start to see him as a human being, so I'd like to see more of him. A picture of the poor for one day in the newspaper is quickly forgotten, more issues need to be looked at on a constant basis.
If that audio recorder is really Charles' then he should interview this guy and ask his story. People are much more likely to support the poor if they actually know the poor.
If this is constantly telling Charles to leave him alone then he wouldn't be standing still for this, I suspect he knows what I just said, the more he's 'in media' the more likely people are to help him out and maybe give public support to the poor.
If he is telling Charles to leave him alone and that he doesn't want his picture taken then I agree that Charles is abusing him. He certainly doesn't look that put out and I doubt that's the case. But notice there is a picture of another panhandler a couple of places up, so its not like Charles is isolating one guy. I'd like to know more about them.
Russell knows exactly what I'm doing. Lately, he's telling me that he should charge ten bucks per picture?
You must understand one thing?
Russell is in poor health and the day he dies? < He might outlive moi? > He will not become just a statistic.
A guy with a alcohol probem names Kevin died a couple of years ago. As a matter of fact 5 died in 3 months and it's a shame I didn't have a picture.
Russell is a very nice guy and he's funny.
He's my main poster boy for the poor in this City.
These people are in a world in their own and they don't let everyone take pictures.
I would love to stay in the Shelter and Soup Kitchen area for one whole day and take lots of pictures but it's not everyone who wishes to have their pictures taken.
