DAVID SUZUKI IS INDEED THE KING OF ALL PUBLIC SPEAKERS!!! < Blogger attitude is unacceptable??? >

Coming towards me was the famous environmental Activist.

This is one reason I never leave home without my camera because a person never know who you’re going to bump into ?

I shouted - Heyyy??? I got to take a picture of this one. Of course David Suzuki didn’t have a clue who I was?

I asked him if he knew what a blogger? <>

I told the guy that I was the biggest blogger in New Brunswick. I then proceeded by saying - I’m also the biggest bullsh@ter you ever seen!!!..lol...<>

Anyway, I asked him if he has heard of the Irvings?

I added that I was being sarcastic!!!

Anyway, I went on by telling the Activist that I wrote and got printed 500 letters to the editor but the Irvings will not print critical letters of the Irvings these days.

My point is the Irvings will promote the new refinery to the readers but the public are not allowed to write against this new environmental disaster.

irving

He allowed me to have my picture taken with the guy.

They were looking for a place to have a coffee?

I was surprised when I mention - Tim’s Horton is right there but they insisted on supporting a local own place.

So they walked into this place and I went on my way!

IMG_7586IMG_7587

I arrive at Wilmot Church at 11:45am and I was surprised to see a
huge line up of people waiting to hear what David Suzuki had to say.

IMG_7599IMG_7600IMG_7601IMG_7602IMG_7603

David Coon was there and in a joking matter I said - How come you don’t attract a crowd like this????...lol

IMG_7656

Yes, the place was full and someone was concern the Fire Marshall might shut the place down.

IMG_7742IMG_7612IMG_7631IMG_7649

While outside, I noticed Stephen MacGillivray <> arriving for the lecture.

IMG_7661

He’s a photographer for the Irvings. I told him in a joking matter- It’s ok! The blogger is here! You can go home now!!!..lol

IMG_7663

I noticed David Suzuki walking by and I took a few more pictures.

He said- You again??? Didn’t you just take a picture??? ..lol...

IMG_7619

I quickly learned that David doesn’t really care if the media follows him or not. He just wish to send his message directly to the people in the audience.

IMG_7623IMG_7626

He was introduced to a loud applause.

IMG_7713IMG_7691IMG_7688

The place was pack!!!

IMG_7728

The audience was told not to take pictures with their flash on because it bothers David Suzuki.

I shut down my flash and like the true ADHD blogger I am?

I began to take pictures from different angles while listening to his speech.

IMG_7771IMG_7760IMG_7757IMG_7745IMG_7746IMG_7738IMG_7724IMG_7726IMG_7721

I enjoyed the part when he said that New Brunswickers live in a unique position in this Province because we have a Premier who’s a virgin!!!!

IMG_8033

That was funny!

Maybe New Brunswickers could educate the Premier on environmental issues before big industries does it!

I was all over the place looking for the perfect picture. I didn’t walk straight up. I was bend over making sure the audience wasn’t distracted.

I ran upstair and took a few shots.

I told a guy that I took shots from different angles and it would be nice to have a shot of David Suzuki giving the audience a speech?

The guy told me just to walk in the back and take a shot? I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t handle my camera to someone without going on the front stage?

The individual suggested I go out and look for a way to come from behind?

I went outside and began opening doors till I saw a little stairway.

Bingo!!! I went up and made it out front so David Suzuki will not be distracted.

I took a few shots and I was done taking pictures!!!!.

IMG_7797IMG_7796IMG_7795IMG_7794IMG_7793IMG_7792IMG_7791IMG_7789

I decided to tape a little of his speech on my recorder so I place the recorder on the side of the stage.

IMG_7816

David finished his lecture and received a standing ovation.

IMG_7821

He quickly reminded the audience if they had any questions?

For once I decided to keep my big mouth shut and just stand on the sideline.

I almost took a heart attack when one member of the audience asked - Are you concern of the Irving monopoly of the newspapers in this Province? We will read nothing about this in the Irving’s papers!!!

irving

WOW!!!! SOMEONE ELSE BRINGING THIS ISSUE TO LIGHT???

I always believe that I was the only one???

David pointed at me and said they have other avenues such as this guy!

The Activist didn’t forget our little chat hours earlier!!! He was paying attention!!! He’s good!

The meeting came to a close and everyone went home happy!!!

I had many people coming to me and praising my blog. I felt good about that one.

People are reading and that’s good.

I decided to call it a day until I was approached by an old lady from Wilmot Chruch who told me that my attitude was unacceptable!!!

I reminded the woman that it’s funny because I never said a word?

She told me that she received some complaints that I took too many photos and I should have never went up front to take a picture.

I was distracting the audience with my actions.

I told her that if everyone had the same way of thinking? It sure would be a boring world???

She finished our conversation by saying - I just wish to tell you that you’re attitude was unacceptable and moved on cleaning some dishes in the kitchen!

I will admit that I took a lot of pictures but I wish to give the readers a feeling of what was going on in this building.

IMG_7698

The place was pack solid and it’s a nice way to let the people on the information Highway know what’s going on with Suzuki’s Tour.

One thing is certain the Irvings will used a picture and that would be it!

I might add there were no television cameras in the area.

So? How will the rest of the world know what’s going on?

I will say that maybe I took too many pictures but I truly understand that David Suzuki will not be in this City for years to come.

Why not have some good souvenirs?

David Suzuki did a fantastic job in educating the public and if I was the Federal Government?

I would pay very close attention to his words because he speaks on behalf of most Canadians.

The issue of the environment is a very important issue.

We’re very fortunate to have a professional spokesperson like David in Canada!!!!

Bonne Chance on the rest of the tour.

Keep on the good work David!!!

Like an earlier poster, I stayed away because I expected you to be there, and I've seen how you put people's pictures on your blog without their permission -- and refuse to delete them even if they ask!

It sucks that a person in Fredericton has to avoid public events if he doesn't want his face on the internet.

I really wish you would change your ways: I think public figures are fair game, and you do shots of scenery that are beautiful...why do you need to put pictures of people online just because you can?

One of the Irving papers has a pic from Suzuki's lecture today, and they've blurred the people in the background...

There you go, being a pain in the butt by taking too many inapropriate pictures. If you don't change your attitude and stop being rude you will be banned from all public places.

Well, I for one appreciated the pictures. You did take a ton, but that's what your readers have come to expect from you.

I'm not in the way of anyone. I was mostly on the floor but you nay sayers must admit that it was a wonderful shot of David from behing.

You nay sayers just don't understand that this is history in the making.

If something happens to David? I got the picture.

Good pic.

So you people better take the plane and leave the City because I won't stop taking pictures.

My god? Many knew who I was and gladly pose for the camera.

I wish you people would ignore this blog and go somewhere else.

:P

Okay, let’s get this straight. Some people are upset that there’s not more media coverage of Suzuki in Fredericton but when someone actually does the most coverage (Charles), he’s raked over the coals for covering every aspect? Folks if you don’t want your picture taken, stay in your house. Nearly every store has cameras these days and media can show up anywhere. Unless you’re the focal point of the story and the whiners in here were not, (Suzuki was the focal point obviously) then NOBODY CARES who you are unless you draw attention to yourself like, “Hi Charles, I’m the guy in the red shirt in photo 86 among the other 30 people in the photo.” Even then, nobody cares that Zeke Jones was five people back in a crowd an you can see half his face.

Charles you’re doing a good job. If someone is the focal point of the picture and says, please don’t use my picture than fine, don’t do it (which I believe Charles already does). In a crowd setting, give me a break.

Thats great charles that you took lots of pictures of Dr Suzuki and you let everyone know that you were there but what was his message? You didn't really report anything. What was his message?

Be a journalist and write a damn story that is on topic.

Blogger Charles LeBlanc said...

Sorry....I don't get paid one single cent for this. It's a hobby and I enjoy it.

I let the readers of this blog blog what was said.

If they feel it's important?

They will leave a message in the comment section.

Some were there and work for the Council so maybe they can share his message with the readers?

Sounds like a fair deal to me???

Spinks,

I'm not famous, but my employer would care if I showed up in a photo clapping for David Suzuki. Can't risk it.

And, I shouldn't have to hide in my house so i won't turn up on a blog that regularly compares the Irving media monopoly to Nazi Germany.

Finally, Charles didn't report on Suzuki. He posted more pics than the Irvings did, but they actually reported more of what Suzuki said than Charles! In fact, the only words of Suzuki's that Charles found worth reporting were his words to or about Charles!

Spinks said...

Yeah I can see your point jdb. But I don't think Charles can take blame for that. Other media was taking crowd shots too which you could easily end up in a shot. The risk of attending a public event. I'm more concerned that you'd get canned for attending something with Suzuki.

Anonymous said...

The fact of the matter is that Charles took photos non-stop for 90 minutes. Ten minutes would have been plenty, especially at an event like this where nothing happens except for a guy speaking. It's disruptive and disrespectfull. Media don't even work like that.

Enough already about David Suzuki!! And there's too much about and from Spinks on here too. My God, I don't know sometimes if it's Mr. LeBlanc's blog or Spinks' blog.

Spinks said...

Naw, anon is still No.1 in here by a long shot. :)

The pictures speak wonders and they means the Government should pay close attention to what David Suzuki have to say.

If it wasn't for the pictures?

You people wouldn't have a single clue what was going on.

My Job? < too bad that I don't get paid > is to educate the public via my pictures and I believe that I did my job!!!!!

my God Spinks, you must be on here 24/7. Idle hands are the work of the devil, you know.

Pictures aren't providing 'education'. Charles has no problem going on and on and on and on about Dan Brussieres or whatever, yet here there wasn't a single mention of the gist of the talk. How is that education?

That number of pictures is way overboard, they weren't even all posted, and even if they were, how does that educate anybody? Pictures showing how many were there are 'informative' but not educational. Suzuki's message would be as viable, or non viable whether two people showed up or two hundred. But there was no mention of the story, because it seems Charles was too busy taking pictures.

Nobody would pay for non stop photos of an event where one or two photos would suffice. Some coverage would be nice. And it isn't just one person who wouldn't want to be seen at a Suzuki talk by their employer. Charles is being irresponsible here, when it would be so easy to be doing a valuable service-cover an event thoroughly without being intrusive.

Who cares how many pictures and all the bull off road remarks. Glad to see people take the interest to show up and become informed. The Telegraph Journal sure tries to play down any notion that there is a problem in Saint John and in NB.

Cancer and Lung diseases and many more health issues are hugh problems for people of all ages. Stop lying and for once "Irving" own up to what you as "one of the larger causes of pollution" is denying is a real problem. Our water, soil and air has been compromised for decades and please stop the excuses.

We have given to you all the rights and now we are no longer able to have a quality of life. Please see what is going on and stop killing us with all the chemicals in our air , soil and water.
