You meet all kind of different attitude in that area.

They are not uptown, they are in downtown Fredericton.

Why can't the people carry those signs? They're not harming anyone. Besides if personal views on these things are so personal what do you have to say about the people doing those things in public view? Maybe some people will think twice.

who's trying to be a moral authority?? they're just holding up a couple signs... izzat all it takes to throw you off?
it must be hell being you, 5:05, when tv commercials come on or when you find yourself near billboards.
the day personal views remain personal is the day communication ends. no blogs, no debates, no free speech. i'd rather you get to say your bit & have it rebutted cuz it pivots on a contradiction, than for both of us to keep quiet about it cuz it's george orwell time...

Now, if I was standing downtown holding a big sign that said "THERE IS NO GOD!" (which there isn't) so many people would throw a fit. Why should they be able to peddle their religion on us?

Maybe I should start going door to door like the Mormons and the Witnesses.

"Hi, do you believe in God? Yes? Well, you shouldn't. Here's why."

Save your energy from going door to door and write me a story of why you think there's no God!!!

I'll use it as a blog...

Once again, who's peddling religion? They're holding up a couple sings. Don't look at them. Same response goes to anyone who'd throw a fit if you walked with a "there is no god" sign.
There are plenty of good non-religious reasons to believe that adultery, drunkeness, stealing etc are no good. Perhaps folks should stop "peddling" politics too? Politicos' track records thru history are just as messy as religion's. And marriage too. Karl Marx called it "legalized prostitution"! Let's Orwell that too. Oh that's right Marxists later changed their mind & enforced strict family laws cuz they work better than chaos.
Bottom line, we live in an imperfect world. There are plenty of good & sufficient reasons to think there is a god, there are plenty of reasons to think there isn't. Both sides feel they can "prove" their side. The argument has long ceased to be about God. It's about who's right & I for one don't care.
I say this as a struggling Jesus follower. Really, it's a lot better to keep the conversation (not debate) going than to kibosh it.

Okay, so one signs says even a adulterous, sexualy immoral, drunk can get into heaven - it's all good. Why stop, we all goin' to heaven!!

Personally, I find my faith to be personal but people do sort of look at ya funny when you say "Yes, I do believe there is a God and , no I don't need proof cause that's what my faith is based on". But I also respect those who say, "No, I do not believe there is a God, and I can prove it" No winners or losers, just differing opinions - such as "I like the Irvings" and "No, I hate the Irvings". Just opinions.

A message to Anonymous 11h37.

If you want to post a sign saying that you do not beleive in God, why don't you do it. I don't think nobody would have a fit. We live in a free country. .... go for it...
