Wow. They searched his home. The Irvings executed a court-ordered search warrant on his home and car.
Not the police, the Irvings.

What kind of province is this?

It's like the Wild East.

New-Brunswick is some kind a joke.

After my contract I will leave this craphole dictatorship.... its a shame...

Irvings did not search anyone's home. It is the responsibility of the Sherrifs department to execute that type of search. And even the CBC story says the search was court ordered so what are you saying, the Irving's have the judges and courts in the pockets too?

I'm not saying anything. The CBC reported (on the 6 o'clock news) that Irving itself got a private (civil) search warrant approved by a court and conducted a search of his property.

That being said gypsyblog..are you complaining that it was an illegal act by the Irvings or just that you don't like the fact that the Irvings did it? Did the CBC suggest what they did was criminal? Are you suggesting that the Irvings are the only ones in the province that could get such a court order or are you (just like most of us) guilty of having little idea how that part of the system even works?

Gypsy, you do not have all the info. Sherrifs are always involved in those kinds of searches. Brunswick News would have gotten the court order granted to them and they then, in turn, would have had the sherriffs execute the order. In the end, the order would have only been granted because there would have been overwhelming evidence that the ex-employee had stolen confidential company info.

Alright. I'm not saying it was an illegal act, however, and remember the only info I have to go on thus far is what the CBC reported, because no other media outlet has offered any insight, the report I saw sure made the act sound 'spooky.' The words the report used were "but police didn't conduct the search, Irving did" and "rare" private search warrant, etc.

Maybe there's nothing wrong with what they did at all. I'm sure the Woodstock Bugle-Observer will explain why that is indeed the case in their next editorial. (snicker).

In the meantime, the whole CBC report was spooky, including the allegations that Brunswick News was willing to sink $1 million into driving a flyer distributor out of business, and the fact that Irving owns every newspaper in the province save one or two weeklies.

Nothing like mixing a little fact and allegations to make a good story. But I too would like to see some one else report on this...there is still one Global guy within a hundred km of Woodstock isn't there?..and I have heard of rumours of ATV vehicles sighted in and around the greater Fredericton area. I'd actually be interested even to see the CBC follow up on there last story and they should. It only proper after all to change those "allegation" into fact where ever possible.

Er,Does anyone need anymore information on who runs this province?
Like did anyone expect the final Kingsclear inquiry to agree with what everyone knew,or the same old, same old.
It was KC who said,"next time I will have my own man in Government".
Oh and if you do business with Irving, and have an accountant, well guess what,Irving also has your accountant.haha, psst, psst
And yes,I don't forget,Irving skinned me for $1000, 30 years ago.

Terry with cbc interview with paul kennedy, will leave you with that typical sick feeling of NB whitewash, corruption continual coverup.
Shame that these people think nb'ers are so dumb.

WAGM-TV News in Presque Isle Maine covers Woostock news. Someone should get in touch with them and suggest they do a story on it. Its likely no one in Woodstock knows this is even going on.
